Mediacorp said in a statement on 26 April that they will be parting ways with actor Shane Pow after he was charged with a drink-driving offence for the 2nd time.
Mediacorp clarified that they were not aware of Pow’s drink driving charge (Pow failed to inform the artiste management team about the incident, which took place in September 2020.
They were unaware about it until it was reported in the media last Thursday.
Mediacorp said that they do not condone “any behavior that runs afoul of the law.”
Pow was also involved in another illegal activity when he was found to have breached Covid-19 safe management measures by gathering (among several Mediacorp artistes) in a large group for a social event at Terence Cao’s home.
Pow was fined for that offence and received internal disciplinary action from Mediacorp.
He will remain with Mediacorp to complete his outstanding work (due to contractual obligations) until 4 May.
