NSF FROM SEMBAWANG CAMP & AIRPORT CLEANER AMONG NEW COVID-19 COMMUNITY CASES

18 new cases of Covid-19 were confirmed by the MOH yesterday (6 May), bringing the total number of cases in Singapore to 61,286.

Of the 18 new cases, 2 were in the community while 16 were imported and placed on SHN upon arrived in Singapore.

The two community cases include a 22-year-old NSF with the Singapore Armed Forces, who last visited his camp, Sembawang Camp, on Tuesday (4 May).

He was identified as a close contact of Case 62824, who worked at Pasir Panjang Terminal (which is now a cluster), and was isolated immediately at Sembawang Camp.

He was then tested on 5 May and the results came out positive the next day. He was then sent to Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in an ambulance.

An immediate and thorough disinfection was then carried out in the premises that the NSF was in.

The other community case is an 88-year-old male Singaporean who works as a cleaner at Changi Airport Terminal 3, under Ramky Cleantech Services Pte Ltd.

He developed a runny nose and cough on 4 May, and he sought treatment at a GP, where he was then tested for Covif-19.

His result came back positive the next day and he was sent to Sengkang General Hospital via an ambulance.

He was also vaccinated on 22 January (1st dose) and 15 February (2nd dose).
