The 79-storey building started swaying at about 1pm on Tuesday (18 May), and the wind speed was reported to be about 43km/hr.

People in the building started mass exiting the building and it was sealed shut.

Authorities remain baffled as to what caused the building to shake, emergency management officials are investigating the reason for the tower, located in Shenzhen’s Futian district to wobble.

The SEG building completed its construction in 2000, and is home to major electronics brands as well as offices in the downtown area of one of China’s fastest growing cities.
