STUDENT FROM NAVAL BASE PRI SCHOOL TESTED POSITIVE, SCHOOL AT YISHUN

A parent was shocked after she receives a letter from the Naval Base Primary School stating that there has been a positive case in the school. The school is located at 7 Yishun Ave 4, Singapore 769028.

Primary 6 students tested positive, last went to school on 13 July 2021.

Here is what the letter says:

We would like to inform you that one of our Primary 6 students have been tested positive for COVID-19. The student is in close contact with an existing case from the household and was last reported to school on 13 July 2021.

As part of the enhanced contact tracing efforts, close contacts will be identified both through the contact tracing conducted by the school and the information gathered through students’ TraceTogether Tokens/Apps.

The school is conducting contact tracing to identify students and staff who were in contact with the case during the infectious period. Close contacts will thereafter be contacted by MOH on the public health actions required. Students and staff who had been in close contact with the student have been placed on Leave of Absence (LOA).

Parents of students identified as close contacts through TraceTogether will receive an SMS notification or be contacted directly by MOH informing them that they have been identified as close or casual contact and what are the actions required to be taken. We seek your assistance to inform the school promptly as this is on top of the contact tracing conducted by the school. If you have received a quarantine order and have a query, please call the Quarantine Officer at 6653-2410.

We would like to assure you that the school had been and will continue to tightly implement safe management measures. These measures are in place to ensure that our school remains a safe environment for teaching and learning. All students and staff are reminded to continue to observe good hygiene practices and to see a doctor if unwell. We have been cleaning high touch surfaces and disinfecting school premises.

There have been daily temperature checks and visual screening. Other enhanced safe management measures in place include fixed seating in the classroom, staggered recesses and dismissal, and regular wipe-down routines in class. These measures are in place to ensure that our school remains a safe environment for teaching and learning. We will also conduct a thorough cleaning and disinfecting of the school premises.
