ILLEGAL DRUG FOUND IN NOW FOODS ROYAL JELLY, SFA ORDERS RECALL

According to a media release by Singapore Food Agency (SFA), they have detected the presence of metronidazole in “Now Foods” Royal Jelly Capsules from USA during an inspection and testing of the products.

Metronidazole is a globally banned antibiotic in food-producing animals. Under the Singapore Food Regulations, metronidazole is not allowed in food products.

They have directed the importer, Bloom Concept Pte Ltd, to recall the affected batches. The recall is ongoing.

Consumers who have purchased the implicated product are advised not to consume it. Those who have consumed the implicated product and have concerns about their health should seek medical advice.
