Time to get more free masks, Temasek Foundation will be giving out 50 surgical masks and 25 N95 masks for each household.
Temasek CEO Ho Ching posted on Facebook stating that there will be a mask distribution at the end of August.
She stresses the contagiousness of the Delta Variant and said that these masks will be more effective against the variant.
In her Facebook post she said:
“Why are we offering free stock for households, and how should we use them?
The Delta variant is twice as contagious as the old Covid variants from last year. With infectivity of 5~6 others for each covid patient, we need 80% of a population to wear 80% effective masks or better to squeeze down the infection numbers. There are many kinds of face masks in the market of varying quality. The reusable double layer masks as well as many of the pleated disposal masks can offer protection of about 80%. With the medical-grade surgical and N95 masks with an effectiveness of 95% or better, we have an additional option for better protection.”
