A man took to social media to complain about the paper offerings for the Hungry Ghost Festival being strewn all over the place after burning.
He said that “is ok ;ah to get fined $300 for cigg butt but not this (SIC)”.
Here is what he said:
“People wake up in the morning to the smoke and ashes in the house, on their car, and with all these lying around on the roads and pavements.
U want to do your offerings go ahead, we respect that but after that have some brain and be a human to clean it up lah.
Every single year this thing has been going on but did the government do anything about it?
With patches of grass being burnt, roadsides and under blocks full of their offering flying around.
I mean what are the bins for? For show?
Come on lah government, say we all singaporeans, then be equal with the rules and regulations lah.”
