Malaysia’s COVID-19 situation have not been hopeful for many as it seems to be still in a very risky state.
Yesterday Malaysia recorded a new record of 21,688 cases in a single day and the Health Ministry (Malaysia) is also concerned about pregnant women who might be vulnerable to the virus.
At least 70 pregnant are have died due to Covid-19 complications in 2021 alone.
Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said that at least 200 pregnant women were detected with the virus in a month
“The percentage of pregnant women infected with Covid-19 in intensive care has increased from 3 per cent on July 10, to 5.3 per cent on August 7. Detailed analysis shows the ratio of Covid-19-infected pregnant women receiving intensive care, compared to the total number of critical Covid-19-infected patients, is 1 in 20. This ratio is much higher than the ratio of Covid-19-infected pregnant women in the general population, which is 1 in 220,”
