
A story was shared by a netizen that they are provided with crappy meals and due to short break times they do not have the luxury of leaving the hotel to buy food outside.
Here is his story:

I have been rather fortunate that I have been employed throughout the pandemic in the hotel industry. While I appreciate & value the job, I just feel that the hotel I work at, as well as many others, are truly taking advantage of its workers.
While most employers don’t provide meals to employees, the hotel Industry provides means as often, staff like me do not have time to go out of the hotel for meals. Meals are usually quick 15-20 min affairs.
Yet the quality and quantity of food have been really poor. My hotel in the Bras Basah/Bugis is an ultra-luxury legacy hotel yet the food has been so poor most staff end up not eating till they report off shift.
Breakfast has also been removed. It’s hard to provide feedback as managers often can have the luxury of walking out for lunch while we do not have that luxury.
We just ask for decent meals, not luxury … even same as shn guests also can
