35 PEOPLE CHARGED FOR DRINKING AT UNLICENSED KTV @ TRADEHUB 21

Under the COVID-19 (Temporary Requirements) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, the police are investigating 44 people aged 17 to 34 for suspected non-compliance with safe distance measures.

The Police received a report on January 1, 2021, that an unauthorized KTV was running at a unit within Tradehub 21 on Boon Lay Way. Officers arrived to find 44 people in the premise who were reportedly drinking and partying.

The facility was said to provide public entertainment as well as alcohol.

Thirty-five people, aged 17 to 34, will be prosecuted in court on September 22, 2021, for breaking Regulation 4(2) of the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020, which prohibits them from leaving their home.

Those found guilty of violating the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) (Control Order) Regulations 2020 may face a prison sentence of up to six months, a fine of up to S$10,000, or both.
