
On 10 October 2021, police arrested a 30-year-old guy for his alleged involvement in a reckless act at Blk 804B Keat Hong Close.
At around 6.10 p.m. on October 10, 2021, the Police were notified of a man wrecking a cab at Blk 804B Keat Hong Close. According to preliminary findings, the guy confronted the taxi driver over a traffic issue.
During the altercation, the guy allegedly struck the cab with his motorbike helmet, causing damage to the vehicle. The taxi driver and the passengers, including a baby, were unharmed.
Arrest
Officers from Jurong Police Division uncovered the man’s identify and arrested him on October 12, 2021, O n October 14, 2021, the man will be prosecuted with Rash Act under Section 336(a) of the Penal Code.
In addition, the man is being investigated for mischief under Section 426 of the Penal Code, threatening behavior under Section 3(2) of the Protection from Harassment Act, and neglecting to wear a mask in a public place under the COVID-19 (Temporary Measures) Act.
Penalties
The offence of rash act carries a punishment of imprisonment of up to six months, a fine of up to $2,500, or both.
The offence of mischief carries a punishment of imprisonment of up to two years or a fine. The offence of using threatening behaviour carries a punishment of a fine of up to $5000.
