The Philippines recently announced that they will be opening their borders to 150 countries including Singapore, UK, Japan, Canada, Australia, Italy and the United States.

The announcement was made yesterday (Jan 28) that travellers will be allowed to enter as long as they are vaccinated and no quarantine is required.

Tourism Secretary Berna Romulo-Puyat said that entry will be granted for those that are tested negative and vaccinated from Feb 10.

The country initially wanted to execute the travel plans in December last year but it was put on hold due to the Omicron variant.

The country is hoping that the reopening of borders will help boost the economy via tourism.

Thailand

Previously, countries like Thailand had a “Test & Go” program that allowed travelling with similar arrangements but the plan was stopped momentarily due to the Omicron variant.

Thailand will resume its travel program from February 1.
