When I reflect on my journey so far as a cabin crew member, I often think of the many passengers I encounter on board a plane.
I have been in the industry for over 5 years now, and I can confidently say that I have seen some of the most interesting characters when I am at work.
Once the aircraft takes off, many of these ‘atas’ people start showing their true colours
I’ve seen passengers who look like they’re of some status, but then act like barbarians when the plane takes off.
It’s always a little disheartening to see these passengers act in this manner. At the airport, they might appear to be well-mannered and polite. They might even appear to be the perfect gentleman or lady.
However, the moment the plane leaves the ground, they become completely different people. They start yelling, throwing their arms around, and generally behaving in a way that makes the other passengers uncomfortable.
I have seen passengers who have had too much to drink, and it’s always a challenge to try and ensure a safe and comfortable flight for everyone on board.
I have also seen passengers who seem to think that the plane is their own personal space, and that they can do whatever they please.
They seem to think that they are above the rules of the aircraft, and I have seen them become quite aggressive when I try to stop them from doing something they shouldn’t be doing.
The worst part is when these passengers don’t even realise or care that their behaviour is affecting the other passengers on the plane.
I have seen families with young children who are trying to enjoy their flight, but are instead subjected to the rude and obnoxious behaviour of someone who has too much to drink or who doesn’t care about the other passengers.
I understand that some passengers are just having a bit of fun, but there is a time and a place for that. I think that being on an aircraft is definitely not the time for it.
