Facebook user Vincent K Zen shared how he bought a Daikin aircon from Harvey Normal and when they installers came to install the new aircon at his home, which is under renovation, they allegedly damaged his windows.
He also added that Harvey Norman allegedly refused to accept liability for the damages, saying that it has been 3 weeks since the removal of the aircon compressor.
Here is what he said
Purchased Daikin aircon from Harvey Norman, their installers damaged the new windows when they removed the old compressor from the aircon ledge.
Harvey Norman refused to accept liability, saying it’s been 3 weeks since the compressor’s removal. We had not seen the damage.
My place is under renovations and no one is living inside. The windows and the floors are covered up in preparation for painting.
The damaged area on the window is hard to see when the window is closed. There are alot of grey dust around the window as there had been hacking and subsequent plastering.
It’s only after cleaning that we noticed the damage. Beware when purchasing air conditioners from Harvey Norman.
Netizens’ comments
- Owners shld try to b present during aircon installation or at least right after. The workers, some of them, may accidentally damage windows or scrap walls that kinda thing, and they wont remember or notice.
- Shd went down and see the aircon installation if they damage it on the spot settle, even you can’t go down, arrange your contractor or ID to help jaga
- Is always the owner of the house to checked and verify all the works done by any contractors who just finished the work, at least you can pin point who is responsible, but now already more than 3 weeks, anything can happen. It will be unfair just to blame the aircon contractor, unless you have proof…
