me and my bf have been together for around 7 months but we’ve been pretty on and off from around the 5 month mark. he and i had just gotten out of two really bad relationships and quickly rushed into a serious relationship together and admittedly we didnt treat each other the best either.
my bf had met a girl named Lana in his previous relationship on a dating app (he wasn’t loyal to his last gf because of the way she treated him) and they flirted on and off throughout his and his exes two-year relationship but eventually he cut her off bc his ex found out.
in the middle of our relationship, he started talking to her again daily and I thought nothing of it because he had told me they were just really close friends and she was a lovely and nice friend to him during his past relationship.
After an argument we had he was telling her how much he hated me and wanted to leave me and she encouraged him to do so, after that argument i found out him and Lana had been saying this so i told him i was no longer comfortable them being as close as they were but could still be friends.
yesterday though i found out he was cheating on me with her. i consider them saying they missed what they used to have, calling and texting behind my back to be cheating especially since she was convincing him to leave me and just discussing me in general in a way i wasnt comfortable with.
he has been crying to me since saying that he didn’t think he was cheating and that he is extremely sorry and that im the only girl he loves.
he said hes willing to cut her off aswell but i have been extremely distant with him and not talking to him much. im still deciding if i wanna be with him as this isnt the first red flag (he was in contact with his ex for the first 4 months promising to get back with her).
but im starting to feel guilty because i think i can tell how sorry he is. AITA?
