A 20-year-old elephant in Thailand, Pom Pam, reportedly killed his owner, 32-year-old Supachai Wongfaed, by ripping him apart.
The elephant had reportedly killed its owner after being forced to work under the hot sun and was apparently overworked and annoyed at the human.
The incident happened in the Tha Yu subdistrict, and police officers from the Takua Thung Police Statio responded to calls about Supachai’s death at about 11.30am on Wednesday,
The officers, along with rescue workers ad the chief of the village, went to the rubber plantation where Supachai was killed, ad found his body split in half in a pool of blood.
The elephant was also seen standing over his body.
Officers from the Phang Nga Provincial Livestock were called to sedate the elephant using a dart gun and tranquillizers so that Supachai’s body could be retrieved and handed over to his relatives for his funeral.
Officers from the Takua Thung Police Station later discovered that the elephant was forced to carry wood in the rubber plantation before the attack happened.
They deduced that the hot weather had made the elephant go crazy and kill its owner.
