The incident happened at around 11am near the Mercure Bangkok Makkasan hotel along Kampaengphet 7 Road.

Emergency rescue workers rushed to the scene after receiving reports that a man had been hit by a train.

According to local reports, the injured man was found unconscious with multiple severe injuries when rescuers arrived. He was later given first aid before being transported to a nearby hospital for urgent treatment.

Authorities have not publicly disclosed the identity of the victim.

Witness Claims Rider May Not Have Heard Approaching Train

Police officers from Makkasan Police Station are currently investigating the incident to establish the exact sequence of events.

A witness reportedly told investigators that the food delivery rider had parked his motorcycle before walking towards the railway track to urinate.

The witness also suspected the man may not have heard the incoming train because he was allegedly wearing earphones and still had his motorcycle helmet on.

Photos shared online after the accident showed rescue workers gathered beside the railway track while train services were temporarily disrupted.

The incident quickly attracted attention online due to its proximity to the location of a recent deadly train-bus collision that killed several people just days earlier.

Thai Railway Officials Blame Reckless Behaviour

The State Railway of Thailand (SRT) later released a statement regarding the incident, saying the crash was caused by the victim’s own reckless actions.

According to railway officials, the man had parked his motorcycle in a prohibited area before climbing over a safety barrier separating the road from the railway tracks.

The SRT also stated that the train driver had repeatedly sounded the horn in an attempt to warn the rider.

However, the train was reportedly unable to stop in time before striking him.

Officials added that the accident delayed the train service by more than 22 minutes, affecting passengers onboard as well as operations at nearby stations.

The railway authority once again urged members of the public not to trespass into restricted railway areas, warning that such behaviour could easily result in fatal accidents.

Incident Happened Near Site Of Recent Fatal Bangkok Train Crash

The case drew additional public interest because it occurred near the scene of a recent deadly collision involving a train and a public bus in Bangkok.

That earlier crash reportedly happened after a bus became trapped at a railway crossing during heavy traffic congestion.

Authorities later revealed that the train driver involved in that fatal collision had allegedly tested positive for drugs and did not possess a valid licence.

Following the tragedy, Thai officials urged motorists to obey railway crossing rules and avoid stopping near train tracks.

Despite the warnings, social media users have continued sharing videos and images showing motorists blocking railway crossings during traffic jams in Bangkok.

The latest incident has further reignited discussions in Thailand over railway safety, public awareness, and dangerous behaviour around train tracks.
