AUNTIE JAYWALKING AGAINST RED LIGHT THEN KENA BANG BY CAR

A video emerged online showing a woman cycling across the road while the red light was still on against her.

The camcar had to brake abruptly to avoid running over the woman, although the vehicle did hit the woman’s bicycle a little.

The incident happened on 3 April at about 3.43pm, somewhere in Sengkang.

Potential penalties

Persons caught jaywalking can be fined $50 on the spot. They can also be charged and fined up to $1,000, or jailed up to three months. Repeat offenders may be fined up to $2,000 or jailed up to six months.
