
Basic training will finally resume for 8000 serviceman on May 26 after the seven weeks suspension of all NS activities.
The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) stated that the resumption of training for these two batches was necessary for front-line or operational units to be staffed and for commanders to be trained.
An estimated 6,300 recruits will gradually be informed of their reporting dates which will be from May 26 to the mid of June.
For Police and Singapore Civil Defence Force servicemen, their reporting dates will be from May 26 to June 8.
The ministries further stated that various respective health and safety measure will be in place and all trainees and instructors will have to undergo a mandatory health screening before they return for raining.
Individuals who have symptoms of respiratory infection will be immediately tested for the Covid-19 virus.
