The 73-year-old actor did a video interview with Lianhe Zaobao and talked about what he has learned and seen after staying in Singapore.

He said that he worried many people will scold him after the interview video gets released.

Complaint level higher than international level

In the interview he stated that he is a person that is very straightforward and often speaks without filters, he said: “Singaporeans have been spoiled by the government and like to complain”

While Hui believes that proper complaints are acceptable, he believes that some of them represent personal beliefs and standards even when the topic of the complaint is not necessarily wrong.

He compared Singaporeans and Hong Kong residents and said:

In comparison to Singaporeans, Hongkongers would grumble as well, but more logically, “The welfare situation isn’t as good compared to Singapore.”

Stating that we are pampered by the government

Singaporeans Too Knowledgeable

He also states that Singaporeans are too knowledgeable for their own good, by saying that his friend is a doctor in Hong Kong who is afraid of seeing Singapore patients.

He states that Singaporean patients would question the doctors on the prescribed medication and thinks that patients should respect the doctor’s judgement.

In other words asking Singaporeans to “Diam diam and listen to doctor”

Editor Notes: We should always question the doctor as a doctor is not always right, we paid for consultation not lecturing.
