BF CARES FOR GF’S PHYSICAL HEALTH, GETS RIDICULED INSTEAD

Here’s the story:

I was listening to some of my favourite songs, on maximum volume, because it’s how I decompress. I jokingly told my boyfriend “Haha, I’m probably going to ruin my hearing.” He told me to turn it down, I told him that I was joking, and I’ve listened to it like this roughly once or twice a week for years, and if it was going to hurt me, it would’ve already done so.

He proceeded to get angry and tell me that he doesn’t effing care that it won’t hurt me, I still need to turn it down.

Mind you, this was all over the text. He told me that I couldn’t have the volume below 75%, and I said that I’m not going to do that. I then tried to text one of my friends about it, stating that “he keeps telling me to turn it down, even though I know my limits and know it won’t hurt me,” but accidentally sent it to him instead (I was texting both of them in my notifications bar and clicked the wrong name).

He then told me that he doesn’t care that I know my limits, 100% is too loud, and he’s trying to protect me. I replied and said that he doesn’t dictate what I do, and I know my limits, and I don’t do this often. He said that he doesn’t care, I can f up my hearing, and I went off. Here’s what I said, no paraphrasing, the exact text:

“For the last effing time, it won’t f up my hearing. I’ve had these specific headphones for three f-ing years and my hearing is fine. If having them at 100% was going to hurt me, don’t you think it’d already have done it?”

He told me that he doesn’t care anymore, I can do what I want.

I then told him to never try to tell me what I can do with my own body ever again. He said okay, told me to do whatever the fuck I want, and I told him that I was going to listen to music now. He said bye without saying “I love you,” which I don’t really give a shit about as I’m still fuming.

So,guys, am I at fauult for telling my boyfriend all these things after he tried to tell me what to do with my music volume?
