This triggered many netizens that were once in the army and said that “their silky” hands cannot touch the rough ground.

- We are looking at army training on a very thin surface level. Having mats to “protect” your soft hands can be considered as safety, that is true. But, hard training have something else other than building muscles and pain. That is to train the mind for endurance and overcome temporary discomfort. To take hardship as it is. Not many BMT trainees are “lucky” to become trainers or some non-combat vocations. Training for that little endurance in your mind to push u to take that 1 extra step really helps if u got posted to a combat unit. This is the SAF, not NCC. But happy to know that the food at the cookhouse and rations really improved a lot!
