BMW DRIVER VANISHES AFTER CRASHING ONTO PAVEMENT IN SENGKANG, POLICE SEARCH UNDERWAY

Police are looking for a driver who allegedly fled the scene after crashing a BMW onto a pavement in Sengkang.

The incident happened on the night of June 12 along Sengkang East Drive, in the direction of Upper Serangoon Road.

Photos circulating online showed a white BMW mounted on a grassy verge beside a pedestrian walkway. The driver’s door was left wide open while Traffic Police officers were seen inspecting the scene.

Several police vehicles were also spotted nearby with their emergency lights activated.

According to the Singapore Police Force, officers were alerted to the accident at about 9.35pm.

Preliminary investigations suggest the vehicle may have self-skidded before ending up on the pavement.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

However, by the time officers arrived, the driver had already left the scene.

Police have confirmed that efforts are ongoing to trace the driver, and investigations are currently underway.

Under Singapore law, motorists involved in an accident are generally required to stop and provide assistance where necessary. Leaving the scene without reporting the incident could potentially lead to further legal consequences depending on the circumstances.
