The Repatriation Process

In a series of Facebook posts, Mr. Abdul Rauf shared updates on the repatriation process. He expressed his gratitude to the management team of Singapore Airlines and the Consul from the Consulate of the Republic of Singapore in New York for their crucial roles.

On December 26, Mr. Abdul Rauf posted, “Alhamdulillah. I am presently enroute back home to Singapore from JFK via Frankfurt. My beloved wife was safely loaded onto the plane earlier.” He acknowledged the efforts of JFK International Airport and Singapore Airlines, mentioning that he was allowed to view his wife’s casket being loaded onto the plane.

The widower specifically thanked Christine, the Consul from the Consulate of the Republic of Singapore in New York, for her dedicated work during the busy Christmas holiday season. He acknowledged her tireless efforts in making things happen promptly.

Remembering Nur Aisyah

Speaking to TODAY, Mr. Abdul Rauf shared that both he and Nur Aisyah enjoyed being in nature. He clarified that their visit to the park wasn’t intended for hiking, as some reports suggested, but rather a walk to discuss future plans and goals.

Describing Nur Aisyah as “the kindest, gentlest, and most faithful wife,” Mr. Abdul Rauf highlighted her unconditional love for animals and people. Despite not having children of their own, Aisyah lovingly cared for Mr. Abdul Rauf’s two children from his first marriage. Her love extended to numerous godchildren, nieces, nephews, and the children of friends.

The tragic accident has left a void not only in Mr. Abdul Rauf’s life but also in the hearts of those who knew Nur Aisyah. Her legacy of kindness, love for nature, and caring spirit will be remembered by the many lives she touched.
