My employer never pays me on time. I work part-time for a very small sales firm 4 days a week, I’m off on fridays and paid hourly.
I get paid monthly but I’m never paid on time. I’ve been working here for about 4 months now.. the first pay check I received was almost 2 weeks late, the other ones a few days late, and when they do come they’re always short a full amount I’m owed.
I was supposed to be paid Thursday and still haven’t gotten it. We have company meetings on fridays that I’m unwillingly always apart of (since I’m off Fridays) and mentioned yesterday I still haven’t received my check.
Was told i will be paid in 24 hours and still nothing… mind you it’s me and another guy working for him and just my boss so 3 people combined, I don’t think it should take 24 hours to get paid especially when it’s through Venmo I would receive it right away.
It’s even more frustrating because if he catches you slacking/ not doing what you’re supposed to do he brings up how much he’s paying you and that’s it’s my job to be doing so and so and he shouldn’t have to close my deals. He’s very degrading.

- Either the owner is a thoughtless jerk or he has serious cash flow problems. Regardless, start looking for another job. I own a small business with 15 employees and my number one rule is to always make payroll on time. People count on it.
- I had a similar issue. Boss would pay us a week late and our check would just sit in his desk. Figured it out he would jus play games with us by doing this, while his company was making bank. My advice look for another job. Not worth your energy to try and change people. Until you find a better job jus cruz at work and see if he notices and play games with him and see how he likes it
