Norvan Tan, 24, is currently facing four charges of sexual assault by penetration and outrage of modesty after allegedly targeting his sister’s drunk friend after a night of drinks.
Tan who is the co-founder of a local food business called Beef Bro is contesting four charges. He is accused of sexually assaulting the girl, now age 23, in the early hours of Boxing Day in 2016.
The prosecution stated that semen was found on the back of her shirt and on her underwear as well. It was believed that the Tan sodomized her when she was in a drunken state. She tried to put up a struggle when she realised that Tan was attempting to rape her, but she failed as she was intoxicated.
Tan then left her in the toilet and his sister brought her back to her room to sleep. She had her suspicions that Tan sexually assaulted her and her suspicions was confirmed when his sister informed her that her brother admitted to fingering her.
The victim made a police report the next day and Tan was arrested.
If convicted of sexual assault by penetration, Tan could be jailed up to 20 years, and fined or caned.
