Broke off his wedding last minute after finding out his fiancée used to be a Peace Centre KTV hostess. Crazy drama.

Just need to vent about this absolute trainwreck of a situation that happened within my friend group. My close bro was literally supposed to get married this month. Everything was prepped—the hotel banquet deposit paid, pre-wedding photos done, HDB BTO flat selection settled and waiting for key collection. It was a done deal.

Then, last week, he abruptly called off the entire wedding and broke up with his girlfriend of four years.

The reason? He found out she used to make fast cash as a KTV hostess back in the day, specifically at Peace Centre and yes she is a Singaporean. Both of them are.

How he found out is the craziest part. We were having a casual gathering with some secondary school friends. One guy in our circle, who used to be a bit of a “chiong kia” (party animal) and frequented those shady KTV lounges years ago, showed up. The moment he walked into the restaurant and saw the fiancée, his face went completely white. He didn’t say anything during dinner, but the vibes were incredibly awkward.

Later that night, this friend dragged the groom-to-be aside and dropped the nuclear bomb. He recognized her instantly. It wasn’t just a casual resemblance; she used to be the exact hostess who sat with him, drank with him, and did all the typical “nasty” KTV touching/parlor games back when Peace Centre was notorious for that kind of stuff.

When my bro confronted his girlfriend, she broke down, started crying, and confessed. She claimed it was a short phase when she was younger, desperately needed fast cash to to buy bags and car, and that she completely changed after meeting him.

But for my friend, the trust was completely dead. It’s not just about her past—it’s the fact that she hid a massive part of her life for four years, knowing his friends might run into her. Now, he’s dealing with the absolute nightmare of cancelling the bridal studios, forfeiting the massive hotel banquet deposit, and figuring out what to do with the HDB flat application. His family is in shock, and the girl is begging for forgiveness, but he’s totally numb.

Honestly, Singapore is way too small. If you have skeletons in your closet, especially in the nightlife scene, you can’t hide them forever. Do you guys think he did the right thing by walking away immediately, or should he have forgiven her since it was in the past?
