On February 8, ICA officers at Tanjong Pagar Scanning Station, Ports Command stopped an attempt to smuggle three katana swords and accessories into Singapore through an inbound container.The officers  discovered suspicious pictures in the scanned images of a container carrying consolidated commodities and began an unstuffing operation at the importer's location. The katanas were discovered hidden in a shipment labeled 'playing cards.' The case has been forwarded to the Singapore Police Force (SPF) for additional investigation. The ICA's first priority is to protect Singapore's borders. Terrorists may employ similar concealing strategies to bring security goods into Singapore.
