GF LIKES PHOTOS OF KPOP GUYS BUT DISALLOW BF TO LIKE MODELS ON INSTA

0

Just a rant. My girlfriend is very insecure lately. We have been together for over 2 years and for the last 6 months we are having multiple arguments over our boundaries. Firstly, she found that I have been following 300+ bikini models on IG and we got into a fight over this. Her basis was that she felt disrespected that I had to follow and like every bikini photo these models post to validate them. I mentioned that they’re just mindless likes and it’s not like I would date them or would even have a chance to see them as they’re overseas.

She got angrier and said that if I had the chance I probably would jump at them then and I’m being insensitive towards her feelings.

She then brought up the issue of not posting photos of her on my IG and ig stories. I told her that I do not enjoy posting my private life on social media so as to reduce my digital footprint plus our friends and family all know about our relationship so this shouldn’t be an issue anyway. She had the guts to then bring up how i wanted to remain private but still openly showing likes to kpop idols and influencers posts on social media, calling me a hypocrite.

I personally feel that its two separate issues but now everything feels so messy. Recently she saw that I placed a photo of my fav female idol in my car and she actually got annoyed again because I didn’t have any photos of her/us in my room or car. I told her that I just wanted to look at my bias photo after a tiring work day. She’s now asking me to keep a printed copy of our photo in my wallet now but i really don’t feel like giving in to her demands anymore.

I don’t understand why she’s so insecure about our relationship and find the need to nitpick on my social media behaviours and photos I bring along with me. Isn’t it enough that I chose and waited many months for her to be my gf out of the other girls enough to show that I am dedicating myself to this relationship.

COACH PARENT COMPANY ACQUIRING MICHAEL KORS, VERSACE PARENT IN US$8.5 BILLION

0

In a monumental move within the fashion industry, Tapestry Inc., the company renowned for Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman, has announced its acquisition of the esteemed luxury group Capri Holdings. This acquisition brings together three iconic designer brands: Versace, Jimmy Choo, and Michael Kors. With a staggering $8.5 billion investment, this deal reshapes the landscape of luxury fashion, uniting six of the world’s most prominent designer names under one roof. This article delves into the implications of this acquisition, its potential impact on the industry, and the strategies that have led to this bold merger.

The Birth of a Luxury Powerhouse

Tapestry Inc.’s acquisition of Capri Holdings heralds the formation of an influential global luxury conglomerate. The combination of three household names—Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman—alongside Versace, Jimmy Choo, and Michael Kors, creates an unrivaled luxury entity. This collaboration not only consolidates some of the most iconic brands but also holds the promise of amplifying value for a diverse range of stakeholders.

Visionary Leadership and Strategic Synergies

Joanne Crevoiserat, the CEO of Tapestry, articulated the potential of this union, emphasizing that the combined strength of these brands unlocks a remarkable opportunity to create unparalleled value for consumers, employees, communities, and shareholders worldwide. The amalgamation of American luxury brands, previously distinct entities, positions the conglomerate as a robust contender in the luxury sector.

A New Competitor on the Global Stage

This acquisition positions the newly formed entity as a significant competitor to established European fashion giants such as LVMH and Kering. These conglomerates boast ownership of illustrious brands like Louis Vuitton, Gucci, and Dior. The integration of the powerful Capri Holdings portfolio into the American luxury fold introduces a new narrative in the global luxury marketplace.

Addressing Challenges and Seizing Opportunities

While the Tapestry-Capri merger appears promising, it occurs amidst challenges for Capri Holdings. Recent reports have indicated a dip in sales during the first quarter of the 2024 fiscal year, with Versace’s revenue decreasing by 5.8% and Michael Kors experiencing a 13.8% decline. Jimmy Choo, however, saw a promising 6.4% increase in revenue, showcasing potential for growth.

The Dawn of a New Era for Capri Holdings

Capri Holdings’ executives view this acquisition as a catalyst for growth and expansion beyond U.S. borders. The partnership with Tapestry augments resources and capabilities, enabling the luxury brands to reach a wider global audience while preserving the distinctive essence of each brand. John D. Idol, CEO of Capri Holdings, highlighted this transformative potential in his statement.

Steady Growth and Anticipated Closure

Tapestry Inc.’s Q3 2023 financial results revealed a commendable 8.7% increase in net revenue. All three of its flagship brands—Coach, Kate Spade, and Stuart Weitzman—displayed revenue growth compared to the preceding year. With such momentum, the acquisition is set to finalize in 2024, contingent upon approval from Capri Holdings shareholders and regulatory agencies.

Conclusion

The merging of Tapestry Inc. and Capri Holdings epitomizes a strategic move that underscores the evolving dynamics of the luxury fashion sector. This acquisition creates a synergy that transcends borders, cultures, and trends. As the industry watches this powerhouse of luxury brands unite, it is a testament to the enduring power of innovation, vision, and collaboration.

INSECURE WIFE KEEPS FAT SHAME HUSBAND’S EX GF TO FEEL SECURE

0

The woman that I dated for 6 years between poly through the end of the university has moved to near where my wife and I live. Because we not only have a history but also because our moms are close friends

I took up my ex-girlfriend’s invitation to meet up several nights ago. It soon became apparent that my ex had put on quite a lot of weight since we broke up. Obviously, I didn’t want to say anything, my intention was to help my ex learn where to go, how to get around, things like that. I had a nice night, it was great catching up with her.

No sooner did we get in the car than my wife just puts it out there that my ex is fat. For as much as I love my wife, sometimes she lacks the ability to keep something to herself or simply word it better. I asked my wife to not use that word, she followed up by asking me to admit that my ex was enormous.

I didn’t admit it, I just told her we should just move past it. For about the next 40 minutes, my wife lambasted my ex, from her body to her outfit, called her lazy, overindulgent, so on and so forth. I reminded my wife that just because she strictly follows a strict vegan diet & daily workouts doesn’t mean that everyone else is fair game for ridicule.

My wife didn’t appreciate my reminder and thought that I’m an unfaithful husband for not siding with her.

Here are what netizen thinks:

  • Commenting on the bodies of others is off limits. Further making judgements on their life and character because of their bodies is gross. There could be medical reasons for the weight gain, your wife doesn’t know. Good on you for not backing her judgement and toxicity.
  • Yeah, those kinds of people are really kinda scary to watch. You know those people who act one way around one set of people and then as soon as the audience change its like a switch has flicked? That’s freaky. Also imagine what she could potentially say behind your back or the backs of others. Yeeesh
  • Seriously, this is some next-level stuff right here. It’s one thing to make a few snide comments about someone when you’re insecure (not saying it’s okay at all, but it’s probably something a lot of people have done at some point and would rather not admit); going on a 40 minute tirade of insulting someone she presumably just met is just very concerning and dare I say, a red flag.

MIGRANT WORKER PUSHED WHILE GETTING DOWN LORRY, EMPLOYER ORDERED TO PAY DAMAGES

0

Workplace accidents can have far-reaching consequences for employees and employers alike.

Ramalingam Murugan, an Indian national working as a structural steel and ship painter for Rigel Marine Services, filed a lawsuit against his employer seeking compensation for injuries he suffered in an accident that occurred in 2021, according to The Straits Times.

The accident took place when Mr. Murugan was alighting from a lorry, and he was pushed by other workers, causing him to lose his balance and fall, resulting in Murugan suffering injuries to his knee.

Breach of Duty of Care

District Judge Tan May Tee, in her judgment dated Aug 7, 2023, found that Rigel Marine Services had breached its duty of care towards Mr. Murugan.

The company’s failure to establish a safe system for workers to access the deck of the lorry contributed to the accident.

The Accident

Mr. Murugan was employed by Rigel Marine Services, a company specializing in marine vessel repairs. On the morning of Jan 3, 2021, he was being transported to his workplace along with other workers in a lorry.

Due to adverse weather conditions and time constraints, the accident occurred while he was transferring to another lorry at the company’s premises.

While trying to alight from the lorry, he was pushed by the other workers and ended up falling onto the ground after losing his balance, before being conveyed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where he was found to have suffered a fracture in his knee joint, as well as an injury to his cartilage.

Murugan subsequently went through surgery and was given medical leave from 3 January to 2 June 2021.

In his lawsuit, Mr. Murugan alleged that the company had been negligent in ensuring his safety. He argued that the tailboard of the lorry was not lowered, and there was no supervisor present to oversee the safe disembarkation of workers.

The Company’s Defense

Rigel Marine Services denied the allegations and contested Mr. Murugan’s version of events. The company maintained that the tailboard was not lowered intentionally to prevent obstruction, as workers used it as a foothold to alight from the lorry.

Additionally, they argued that Mr. Murugan’s own carelessness contributed to the accident.

The Court’s Assessment

Judge Tan acknowledged inconsistencies in Mr. Murugan’s testimony and the complexities of the accident’s mechanics.

However, she affirmed that the accident did occur, likely as a result of him being inadvertently pushed amidst a crowded lorry.

The absence of witness testimony from other workers who were present during the incident was noted by the court.

Judge Tan highlighted the physical challenges involved in alighting from the lorry, given the unlowered tailboard. Workers were required to perform a potentially risky “acrobatic move” to safely disembark, which underscored the necessity of a safer process.

The court will assess the amount of compensation that Mr. Murugan is entitled to separately. This evaluation will consider factors such as medical expenses, lost wages, and the impact of the injury on his overall well-being.

25 Y.O MAN CHARGED AFTER USING HIS BANK ACCOUNT TO LAUNDER $1.5 MILLION

0

On 10 August 2023, a 25-year-old man and director of a Singapore-registered company (“Company”) were charged with offences of money laundering, engaging in a conspiracy to cheat the bank, knowingly disclosing the Company’s bank account details to another person, and failing to exercise reasonable diligence in the discharge of his duties as a director of the Company.

In October 2021, the Company’s bank account was allegedly used to launder around $1.5 million of funds that was linked to a business email compromise scam perpetrated against an overseas bank. Investigations revealed that the man had allegedly provided his Singpass credentials to an unknown third party that had recruited him through Telegram and promised to pay him $1,000 a month if he incorporated a company and opened a corporate bank account.

The man purportedly conspired with the unknown third party to deceive a local bank into opening a corporate bank account for the Company. The man then allegedly provided the third party with the one-time verification codes required for the activation of the bank’s internet banking facility as well as provided the digital token to the Company’s bank account to allow the third party to use the corporate bank account. Subsequently, the man also allegedly failed to supervise the affairs of the Company as required of a director of the Company, which led to the Company’s bank account being used to launder suspected criminal proceeds.

The man is also facing other unrelated charges.

Under Section 47AA(1) of the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation Of Benefits) Act, offenders convicted of possessing property that may be reasonably suspected of being benefits of criminal conduct may be liable to an imprisonment term of up to 3 years and/or a fine not exceeding $150,000.

Under Section 157(1) of the Companies Act, offenders convicted of failing to use reasonable diligence in the discharge of duties as a director may be liable to an imprisonment term of up to 12 months or a fine of up to $5,000. Under Section 154(2)(b) read with Section 154(4)(a) of the Companies Act, offenders may also be disqualified from acting as a director for up to five years.

INTERNET CELEBRITY SHARES HOW FAME HAS RUINED HER LIFE

0

An anonymous internet “celebrity” has shared how her life has been ruined by her internet fame.

Here is the story:

I’m writing this on an anonymous account and this will be the only post on this account since i’m probably not gonna reply to comments, i just want to read them. i am a famous internet personality with millions of followers. i think that internet fame has completely destroyed and degraded every aspect of my life.

i’m pretty sure i’ve started to hate people now. back in school when i actually had real friends i felt happy to be around people. i felt like i had genuine connections with people and they cared about me unconditionally. but now the only ‘friends’ i have are ones that are working in the same field as me. but i see them as more like co-workers than friends.

The worst part is no matter what happens or how i feel about them, i’m forced to be friendly with them. because otherwise fans will assume drama and i don’t want that pressure on the other person. people think that every time someone famous does something there’s an ulterior motive so i have to be conscious of every decision i make making sure that it won’t lead to any unnecessary drama, or damaging to my image.

I feel like i’m not free to make any decisions as a result. it’s become extremely stressful having basic social interactions with people because of this. i haven’t had any luck meeting interesting people who have no idea who i am so making new friends, people i actually want to connect with has been impossible for me.

i genuinely hate talking with other people. i’m so used to thousands of messages from complete strangers judging me or inquiring about my personal life daily that i think it diluted my cognitive capability of basic human interaction.

I genuinely don’t believe human beings are genetically designed to be talking to thousands of strangers every day, in the form of text no-less. what i’m doing is so mentally exhausting to me that it made me believe i will never find happiness, or true love, or start a family and raise children, things that everyone agrees are supposed to be the rules of life.

i’m not even passionate with what i do. it doesn’t make me happy in the slightest. i know that not every fan is some over-obsessive loser. i know that there are good people who like me, but even if i read what they have to say about me i just feel nothing. i constantly say stuff like ‘i love you guys, i wouldn’t be doing this without you’ but it’s almost funny to me now because it’s completely not true. truth is i just do it because i don’t know how to do anything else. i got incredibly lucky and i make a lot of money doing relatively low-skill work and i’m too much of a coward to just abandon it and actually learn something new.

the truth is that i’m kind of a bad person. every time i want to get into a romantic relationship with someone i always feel like they’re with me for money and fame, even when it’s not true. i tried doing some self-reflection and realized that not every person is out to get me or obsessed with internet culture or whatever. the fact that i assume they are is just my own insecurity.

I understand and acknowledge that the problem is me, but that in-turn made me hate myself way more. how am i supposed to be a role model for literally millions of people when i’m this much of a shitty person? i wouldn’t wish for anyone to be anywhere near like me and when i read comments from people saying how i inspire them it honestly makes me sick. i understand that the scale of my problems might not be that sympathetic with a lot of you. i mean, i’m wealthy and the position i have is desirable to most people. i understand that. but i’m not looking for sympathy anyway.

I don’t know what to do. i know that as time goes by i’ll become irrelevant and people won’t care about me anymore, which might seem good, but considering how i literally don’t know what else to do with my life it’s actually terrifying rather than relieving.

Money lending

  • Check the legitimacy: Ensure that the lender is licensed by the appropriate authorities
  • Understand the terms: Read and understand the terms and conditions of the loan, including interest rates, repayment schedules, and any fees involved.
  • Compare options: Don’t settle for the first loan offer you receive. Compare different lenders to find the best terms that suit your financial situation.
  • Borrow responsibly: Only borrow what you can afford to repay. Be mindful of your financial capabilities and avoid overborrowing.

Remember that borrowing from illegal loan sharks or unlicensed lenders can lead to serious financial and legal consequences. It’s always safer to choose legitimate and regulated lending options to meet your financial needs.

16 Y.O YP AMONG 10 PEOPLE ARRESTED FOR MALWARE SCAMS, STEALING VICTIMS’ MONEY

0

10 PERSONS ARRESTED FOR THEIR SUSPECTED INVOLVEMENT IN BANKING-RELATED MALWARE SCAM CASES

In an island-wide anti-scam enforcement operation conducted between 31 July 2023 and 11 August 2023, the Commercial Affairs Department (CAD) and Police Intelligence Department (PID) arrested nine men, aged 18 to 43, and a 16-year-old youth for their suspected involvement in the recent spate of banking-related malware scam cases. Another three men and three women, aged 17 to 60, are assisting in investigations.

Since January 2023, the Police have received increasing reports informing that malware was used to compromise Android mobile devices, resulting in unauthorised transactions made from the victims’ bank accounts even though they did not divulge their Internet banking credentials, One-Time-Passwords (OTPs) or Singpass credentials to anyone. In these cases, the victims responded to advertisements (e.g., on cleaning services, pet grooming, food items such as seafood and groceries, etc.) on social media platforms like Facebook and were later instructed by the scammers to download Android Package Kit (or APK) from non-official app-stores to facilitate the purchases, leading to malware being installed on the victims’ mobile devices. The scammers then convince the victims via phone calls or text messages to turn on accessibility services on their Android phones. Doing so weakens the phones’ security and allows the scammer to take full control of the phones. This means that the scammers can log every keystroke and steal banking credentials stored in the phones and allows the scammer to remotely log in to the victims’ banking apps, add money mules as payees, raise payment limits and transfer monies out to money mules. The scammers can further delete SMS and email notifications of that bank transfer to cover their tracks.

During the two-week operation, officers from CAD and PID mounted simultaneous island-wide operations and arrested the 10 persons. Preliminary investigations revealed that the nine men, aged 18 to 43, and the 16-year-old youth had allegedly facilitated the scam cases by relinquishing their bank accounts, Internet banking credentials and/or disclosing Singpass credentials for monetary gains.

Police investigations are ongoing. The offence of acquiring benefits from criminal conduct under Section 54(5)(a) of the Corruption, Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes (Confiscation of Benefits) Act 1992, carries an imprisonment of up to 10 years, a fine of up to $500,000, or both. For deceiving the banks into opening bank accounts that were not meant for their own use and relinquishing their bank account login details, they are liable under Section 417 read with Section 109 of the Penal Code 1871 and Section 3(1) of the Computer Misuse Act 1993 respectively. The offence of cheating under Section 417 of the Penal Code 1871 carries an imprisonment term of up to three years, a fine, or both, while the offence under Section 3(1) of the Computer Misuse Act 1993 carries a fine of up to $5,000, or an imprisonment term of up to two years, or both. For disclosing their Singpass credentials under Section 8 of the Computer Misuse Act 1993, they are liable to an imprisonment term not exceeding three years, a fine of up to $10,000, or both.

Advisory Against Downloading of Malicious Apps

The Police would like to remind members of the public that they should not click on suspicious links, scan unknown QR codes, or download mobile apps from third-party websites or unknown sources. These unverified apps may contain malware, which can severely compromise the security of mobile devices. Instead, members of the public are reminded to only download apps from official app stores. Before downloading any app, check the number of downloads and user reviews. Always be wary of any requests for banking credentials, money transfers or attractive offers that sound too good to be true. Lastly, members of the public are advised to turn on security settings, such as disallowing installation of apps from unknown sources, to help protect their devices.

The Police will spare no effort to track down cybercriminals responsible for banking-related malware incidents and will continue to take tough enforcement actions against those who flout the law. To avoid being an accomplice in these crimes, members of the public should always reject seemingly attractive money-making opportunities promising fast and easy pay-outs for the use of their Singpass accounts, bank accounts, or for allowing their personal bank accounts to be used to receive and transfer money for others. The Police would like to remind members of the public that individuals will be held accountable if they are found to be linked to such crimes.

For more information on scams, members of the public can visit www.scamalert.sg or call the Anti-Scam Helpline at 1800-722-6688. Anyone with information on such scams may call the Police Hotline at 1800-255-0000 or submit information online at www.police.gov.sg/iwitness. All information will be kept strictly confidential.
