WOMAN GOT CASH TO PAY BUT REFUSE TO PAY 5 CENTS

0

I work a mini-mart and a customer came in to buy a bottle of drinks. Her total came out to be $1.50 and she proceed to drop a whole bunch of change on the table. She then separated the 5 cents from the rest of the small change and gave me $1.45. After realizing she was short a 5 cents, she then tells me she’ll bring me the 5 cents the next day (while holding a bunch of coins and notes in her other hand).

I asked her why not just give me money and switch out some of the smaller coins and we’ll be even. She said no. Then I asked her why not just give me one of the $2 notes that she’s holding right in front of me. She says no. Usually, I let this go but she literally has extra money that she’s flashing in front of me. I asked her again and she yells at me “I’LL BRING IT TOMORROW”

Five days have passed and she shows up. She aggressively drops her bottle at the filling station and walks away to the market. When she comes back to pay, she gives me 5 cents and then gives me 2 dollars to pay for her bottle. I told her I wasn’t upset about the 5 cents but was upset about the fact that you had the money but refused to pay.

She said she needed the coins but then I asked her about the notes she was holding that day. She then got upset and yelled out “I’M NOT COMING BACK HERE ANYMORE”

So am I wrong for arguing with a customer about 5 cents?

Here are what netizens think:

She is a cheapo and just wanna get rid of the 5 cent coins.

You should call the Police, not paying and not enough paying is the same as stealing. later your boss scold u then u know.

WOMAN SHARES LIFE AS A DUAL-INCOME COUPLE WITH NO KIDS IN S’PORE, SIBEI SHIOK

0

Singapore is often associated with the traditional path in life: find a partner, married and have kids. However, not everyone follows this well-trodden route. Meet Sweetchowomine and her husband, a couple who chose to embrace a different lifestyle of dual-income no-kids (DINK) in Singapore.

The Daily Vlog: A Glimpse into Their Lives

Sweetchowomine recently provided a sneak peek into their lives through a 47-second TikTok video. This daily vlog started at the break of dawn as Sweetchowomine headed to her office.

At 10:54 AM, her husband sent her a text, suggesting they have dinner together. However, Sweetchowomine replied much later, stating, “Whoops, I replied five hours later.” It’s important to note that this delay in response doesn’t indicate a lack of interest or affection between them.

Sweetchowomine and her partner are not the type of couple to keep each other updated throughout the day or have daily dinner plans with each other. Instead, they prioritize independence. They believe in letting each other lead their lives independently.

An Evening Out: Dinner at Raffles City Shopping Centre

On the day featured in the TikTok video, the couple decided to have dinner at Raffles City Shopping Centre. They enjoyed their meal and were back home by 10:15 PM.

Sweetchowomine shared that her night routine typically includes a quick wash up, a cup of tea, and some alone time with the TV. Meanwhile, her husband indulges in his own nightly routine with his mobile gaming.

Then at about 11.30pm, they return to their bedroom and quietly use their phone because going to bed.

MAN SAY NOT THAT HE DON’T WANT A GF, HIS INDUSTRY ARE ALL GUYS OR MARRIED

0

I am a research fellow (31 y/o, 171cm, 56 kg) doing research in AI at a local university with a bring home monthly salary of $7.5k. The thing is, there is a shortage of ladies in this field and even the remaining few are either attached or married.

Moreoever, I do not want to use Tinder or other dating apps because I find those a waste of time and even if I get matches, the girls will show their true colors during actual meet up and exploit me for free treats. Anyone who is 30 yo and above in a similar situation as me? How do you guys find your SO?

Here are what netizens think:

  • Better to be single than u regret later. Let fate take its course better. Dont force it.
  • 7.5k is not enough to survive. better stay as single
  • From your past experiences, we can conclude you deem to be single for good. What is wrong with free treats free holidays free gifts? A lady who earns double your salary won’t look up on you anyway. Grow up!
  • Why don’t you put your research skills in researching on how to woo a woman with your 7.5k salary… I’m sure you will be able to settle this in no time the rest of us here who had a partner are all just plain lucky
  • It’s better to be single n happy n to be with a gold digger. or some high maintenance lady with princess syndrome. Usually such marriage doesnt last long. Just be yourself n spend time with your loved ones and what make u happy
  • I think we actually should be single in life.. what’s the point of having babies? The olds said.. have someone in futures.. but.. how sure u r to take cares of u?
  • In the old days…there was a term called “potong jalan” ….the rest is up to you…

MAN’S SON IS 27 AND STILL ACTING LIKE A CHILD, SAYS HE’S A BAD DAD

0

I’m serious. Nothing he does is even close to age-appropriate. He has never lived alone in his life.

His girlfriend is 18, he thinks shouting degrading insults on Halo Infinite is just the most hilarious thing in the world, and he thinks making lame Lets Plays on Youtube is gonna blow up and make him rich.

I guess I’m confessing that I’m a bad father. As a professor, I have criticized this kind of thing in society all the time.

The infantilization of young adults. I get that there isn’t a set way a 27-year-old needs to act but geez, at least do something practical to be self-sufficient.

And I argue with my wife about this all the time. I feel like a hypocrite sometimes.

Netizens’ comments

  • I am convinced that some parents will quite literally “love their child to death”. The desire they have for their child to not have to face real life will enable them to watch their progeny waste away. Make a decision. How much do you love him?
  • I remember reading or hearing the saying that as a parent, our job is to raise our children in such a way that they don’t need us.

Or another way of saying it is parenting is the only job where, if done properly, you aren’t needed.

  • The sad part is that some parents have no life outside their families and then they cannot imagine not being needed by their kids.

SENIOR HDB MANAGER & CONSTRUCTION DIRECTOR CHARGED WITH CORRUPTION

0

In a startling turn of events, a senior employee with the Housing and Development Board (HDB) and the director of a prominent construction company find themselves facing charges of corruption, according to a report by The Straits Times.

The Accused and Their Roles

  1. Tan Siam Chua: Senior Estate Manager at HDB
At the heart of this scandal is Tan Siam Chua, a 60-year-old senior estate manager who was associated with HDB at the time of the alleged offenses. Tan faces one charge of abetting corrupt transactions with agents.
  2. Liong Ah Chye: Director of Liong Construction
On the other side of the legal battle stands Liong Ah Chye, a 61-year-old director of Liong Construction. He has been charged with one count of corrupt transactions with agents.

The Alleged Offenses

The crux of the matter lies in the events that transpired on September 16, 2021. Liong, acting through one of his employees, purportedly provided a false quotation from his company to an HDB senior estate manager identified in charge sheets as Lau Chee Wee. It is alleged that Liong was well aware that this false quotation was intended to mislead HDB.

The Role of Instigation

A significant twist in this legal saga involves Tan Siam Chua allegedly instigating Liong to engage in these deceptive actions. The Corrupt Practices Investigation Bureau (CPIB) emphasized this aspect in a statement.

Legal Proceedings and Statements

On the day when these grave charges were presented in court, Tan expressed his intention to contest the charge. Notably, he chose not to engage a lawyer and stated, “Those things that I have done (are) in accordance with HDB’s practice.” The judge refrained from allowing further elaboration and scheduled a pre-trial conference for October 26.

Liong, too, declared his intention to contest the charge through his lawyer, Tang Shangwei of WongPartnership. Mr. Tang cited Liong’s need to travel to China to visit suppliers, prompting the judge to instruct the lawyer to file an application for Liong to leave Singapore. Liong’s case is also slated for a pre-trial conference on October 26.

Bail and Potential Penalties

Both Tan and Liong have been released on $10,000 bail each. However, the gravity of their situation cannot be understated. If found guilty, they could face fines of up to $100,000 or a jail term of up to five years, or possibly both.

In response to this troubling situation, an HDB spokesman asserted, “HDB expects all officers to maintain high standards of integrity and incorruptibility, and their actions must not bring HDB into disrepute.”

GUY FEELS LIKE A LONER AT SCHOOL, ALWAYS ALONE AND HAS NO FRIENDS

0

A netizen shared how he feels like a loner at school – he doesn’t have any friends and eat alone, has no one to do projects with, and stands by himself while he watches others talking and laughing with each other outside classes.

Here is the story:

I’ve been wanting to get this off of my chest for a while now but I’m not comfortable enough to tell anyone in my life about it.

If I do, I know their response will be the same. “Just try starting conversation”, etc but I am very bad at it and will most likely embarrass myself like I always do.

Whenever I’m at school I always eat and sit alone. I’m always left alone to do class projects because I have no one to partner up with. When waiting for class to start. I always stand by myself while my classmates talk and laugh with each other.

I have this empty feeling whenever I see posts on social media with people having the time of their lives with their friends. I’m so envious of them and I desperately wish someone would just talk to me.

I wish I had my own group of friends like everyone else. It’s so isolating to watch everyone else with their friends. I hate it.

Is there something wrong with me? Is it the way I dress? Am I too ugly to want to be seen with?

I honestly feel so pathetic and I feel like my classmates know how much of a loner I am just by looking at me.

I don’t want to feel this way anymore and I feel like I’m wasting my school years away.

Netizens comments

Do you have any clubs you’d be interested in joining? After-school activities? It’s easier to make friends with someone who has common interests as you.

Also, you can’t tell yourself you’ll screw up a conversation before you even have it. That’s setting yourself up for failure with that mentality.

Not only that, the more you do get into those conversations you say you’re bad at, the better you get. No one gets worse at something they often practice at.

Have any interests like photography or cars? Great! Pursue those and make yourself interesting. That’s part of making yourself attractive.

Friends don’t have to be from school either. It doesn’t matter where you get your friends it matters how you get them.

Have no expectations either. Just have fun with it and it’ll work itself out.

GUY SAYS HE GOT PCC PROBLEM, WHOLE DAY ONLY THINK OF PCC, MINIMUM 3 TIMES A DAY

0

To admin, please post this, I need help. Basically, I have a pcc-ing problem.

I pcc like everyday. Used to be like 3 times a day. Now cause I’m working, it’s at least 2 times. Morning once, night once. I think my issues about this gets even worse.

Everyday I think, should I pcc now or later? If it’s later, would I have time to pcck though? If no time, I’ll just pcc now. But, sometimes, I chose later, only to find out that I have no time to pcc at all. That makes me sad. And when I’m sad, I just pcc it out anyways, so it’s still a win win..I guess?

Today, I just realized I haven’t pcc yesterday at all. I’m not sure why, that makes me sad. It’s as if I broke the pcc-king chain. Then I started to think, I need to stop pcc-ing. But, I’m not sure how to stop pcc-ing. Everytime I think about stopping, I be like, oh well, one last pcc, and I pcc it away, and feel like a failure cause I pcc-ed, but at the same time, it felt great.

But this only makes me wanna pcc more. Then I’m like, I really need to decide the best time to stop the pcc, but how? Oh well, I guess I’ll decide it by pcc-ing. And so I pcc-ed it away yet again, and make no decision whatsoever after that. And so I’m sad, and pcc it off again.

As I’m typing this, I’m thinking, should I pcc now or just stop the pcc once and for all. Eh, I’ll probably pcc anyways.

Yup, I need help.

55 Y.O WOMAN TRY TO BE CLEVER & FORGED LETTER FROM PRIME MINISTER’S OFFICE, ARRESTED

0

In a bizarre turn of events, a 55-year-old woman found herself in hot water after allegedly sending an email containing a letter that she had forged and tried to pass off as coming from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), according to The Straits Times.

She is set to be charged in court on 29 September for forgery for the purpose of cheating.

This audacious act of forgery has raised eyebrows and concerns about the lengths some individuals are willing to go to achieve their goals.

The Email That Raised Suspicion

An investigation officer from Singapore Customs had received an email that requested for a security deposit to be returned, and included in the email was a letter allegedly from the Prime Minister’s Office demanding that the matter be sped up.

The authorities swiftly initiated an investigation. The first step was to verify the authenticity of the letter with the PMO. It was later confirmed that the letter was a clever forgery, never originating from the PMO in the first place.

A police report was then lodged with the Singapore Police Force on 22 June.

The Arrest and Subsequent Revelations

With mounting evidence pointing towards the woman’s involvement in this audacious act, officers from the Jurong Police Division took swift action.

On June 27, she was apprehended, and preliminary investigations only served to implicate her further. It was revealed that she had not only forged the letter but had also sent another fabricated letter from the PMO.

This time, she had emailed it to the Housing and Development Board (HDB), demanding the immediate refund of funds she had paid for the bidding of two minimart shops.

The Legal Implications

Forgery for the purpose of cheating is a severe offence in Singapore. If found guilty, she may face imprisonment of up to 10 years and significant fines.

This stern penalty underscores the severity of manipulating official documents and impersonating government authorities.

MRT SERVICES DISRUPTED DUE TO “TRACK FAULT”, SMRT “SORRY” FOR AFFECTING COMMUTERS

0

Early morning commuters in Singapore faced delays and disruptions as a result of a track fault on the Circle Line. The incident, which occurred on September 29 at approximately 2:20 am, was detected during a routine maintenance inspection by SMRT Rail Technicians.

The issue was identified at the crossing between Promenade Station to Esplanade/Bayfront Station, where a crack in the rail track was discovered. In response, SMRT initiated a comprehensive plan to address the problem and ensure the safety of passengers.

Normal train services disrupted

To rectify the issue, SMRT’s rail replacement team will carry out the replacement of the affected rail crossing. This process involves detailed surveys and the movement of heavy rails and equipment using engineering trains. Consequently, normal train services in the affected stretch were disrupted to facilitate the necessary repairs.

During this period, train services were running slower than usual, as only a single line operation was possible in both directions on the affected stretch. Specifically, the affected stations were Dhoby Ghaut to Promenade Stations and Marina Bay to Stadium Stations. To minimize inconvenience, commuters were advised to allocate an additional 30 minutes of travel time when using this stretch of the Circle Line.

Commuters were also encouraged to explore alternative transportation options. Specifically, the North-South Line, East-West Line, and Downtown Line were recommended as viable alternatives for travel.

Free bridging bus services

To further assist affected passengers, SMRT provided free regular bus services between Paya Lebar to Dhoby Ghaut/Marina Bay Stations. Additionally, bridging bus services were deployed between Paya Lebar and Promenade Stations to ensure smoother travel for commuters.

SMRT took steps to keep passengers informed throughout the disruption by making in-train and station announcements. Passengers were also advised to follow official channels for updates on the situation.

In a statement, SMRT apologized for the inconvenience caused to commuters during their Friday morning commute and assured the public that all efforts were being made to resolve the issue promptly and safely. Commuters were urged to stay informed and plan their journeys accordingly while the necessary repairs were carried out on the Circle Line track.

SMRT’s statement

[UPDATE on the track fault on the Circle Line, 29 Sep, at 6.06am]:

On 29 Sep at about 2.20am, a crack on our rail track on the Circle Line at the crossing between Promenade Station to Esplanade / Bayfront Station was detected by our Rail Technicians during their routine maintenance inspection.

Our rail replacement team will be carrying out the replacement of this rail crossing so as to restore the safe use of the tracks. As this involves detailed survey and the movement of heavy rails and equipment using engineering trains, normal train services will be affected at the affected stretch for our engineers to rectify the issue.

Train services will be running slower as only one single line operations can be operated for both ways on the affected stretch – Dhoby Ghaut to Promenade Stations; and Marina Bay to Stadium Stations. Commuters are advised to cater additional 30 minutes travelling time at this stretch.

Commuters are also advised to take the North-South Line, East-West Line and Downtown Line for your travel.

Free regular bus services will be made available between Paya Lebar to Dhoby Ghaut / Marina Bay Stations.

Bridging bus services will be made available between Paya Lebar and Promenade Stations.

In-train and station announcements will be made to keep commuters informed.

Please follow the official channels for updates. We are sorry to have affected your Friday morning commute.

WAITRESS EARNS $3K BUT SPENDS MORE THAN $1K ON GRAB EVERY MONTH TO AVOID PEAK PERIOD

0

So I am working as a waitress and server at a cafe/pub and my shifts usually start at about 7 in the evening until 3 am in the morning.

I am always taking Grab to work then again when work ends, main reason for this is to avoid the peak hour crowds and also at 3am, there are no more public transport.

I live somewhere in the West and my Grab rides to work cost about $30 plus, and by the time I end work, I’m usually drunk and it’s about 3am and there’s no more public transport and I have no choice but to take Grab home.

For context, I work at a pub and my job included serving, cashiering and drinking with the customers. And no I am not a hostess, my job scope just includes entertaining them and I get extra money if they buy me ladies drinks. I also don’t provide any “services”, it’s a legit and honest job.

And a lot of people are asking why I don’t have travel allowance from my workplace since I end work so late, and my employers tell me that they don’t give me travel allowance in exchange for 100% of the money from ladies drinks and a higher commission rate.

So basically i get more money, in a way.

Anyway, so taking Grab to and from work, each day I spend about $60++, and when I add up all the money that I spend on Grab every day, it totals to about $1.2k per month.

I am earning about $3k++ so almost half of it is spent on Grab rides.

Netizens’ commetns

Yes, I think can take public transport to work. Assuming she works in town areas, public transport from west side towards town should be still OK. The big crowds during evening peaks are usually from town to heartlands.

Walao public transport so bad meh… I take it everyday leh.

That should be the way. Better than squeezing like sardine in public transport.

I would rather purchase a bike with that amount of money, which im already a rider. Convenient and affordable
