COUPLE PIAK HALFWAY, BABY FALL DOWN & CRYING BUT GF SAY “FINISH” FIRST THEN GO HELP

0

Had a date with my girlfriend that ended up with f-ing on the sofa. She has a 2 year-old daughter who is very flexible and is already starting to climb out of her crib.

Well we were right in the middle of it when we hesr a THUMP and then her daughter crying. Obviously it was her daughter who climbed out her crib and fell on the floor.

I tried pulling away and she stopped me and said she’ll take care of her when we both come because this happens all the time.

This child was SCREAMING. I was scared she hit her head. I couldn’t finish because I just could not stop worrying so I just went home without either of us cumming.

I tried texting my gf if her daughter is okay but no response. The child is not mine but I love her regardless. What the he’ll was I supposed to do?

When I have my own kids if I hear someone get hurt I always thought it was morally correct to stop whatever I was doing to see if they’re okay. Are you supposed to not if you’re used to it?

Netizens’ comments

  1. How could someone finish with a child SCREAMING like that? My god
  2. You did the right thing OP. I have grave concerns about your girlfriend’s ability to take responsibility for her child, and her priorities. That kid could have had a broken limb for all you knew and I can’t believe she just brushed it off. That’s just negligence and I say that as a father.
  3. Not to be blunt, but that’s straight up a sh-y parent. That’s about a big of a red flag as could exist realistically.
  4. I’m concerned that she didn’t stop and check on her child. Your reaction was normal and expected.
  5. Wow what kind of mother would just carry on and ignore her child?! Could have a serious head injury… Don’t knock her up whatever you do
  6. As a parent I’m pretty used to getting interrupted. I would think the normal response would be to take care of the child and then resume after

WORKER CRUSHED TO DEATH AFTER 560KG STEEL BEAM FELL ON HIM, COMPANY FINED $200K

0

A construction company was fined S$200,000 on Monday (10 July) for safety violations that led to the death of a worker at a factory on Tuas West Road back in 2020, according to Shin Min Daily News.

Hai Leck Engineering & Construction was found to have failed to implement appropriate risk control measures, including using suitable transport vehicles and securing equipment.

The accident occurred on October 12, 2020, when 39-year-old lifting supervisor Murugan was crushed to death by a 560kg steel beam.

Murugan and his colleagues were delivering materials to a construction site when the beam fell off the lorry loader they were using.

The beam had been secured with only three ropes, which were not strong enough to prevent it from tipping over.

Murugan was killed instantly, while his colleague escaped with minor injuries.

What happened?

On the day of the accident, Murugan was instructed to deliver materials that included 5 “N-type steel beams” that weighed 560kg each, and an angle iron to the construction site.

He supervised the forklift driver transferring the materials, and they then loaded them upright onto the lorry loader because the beams couldn’t be stacked together as they weighed 560kg each.

Using three ropes, they then secured the materials and the lorry loader then headed towards the entrance of the factory; that was when the site supervisor noticed that one of the steel beams was tilting.

The lorry loader was then stopped and Murugan asked for the ropes to be untied and unloaded from the forklift using a loader.

Murugan was untying the ropes when one of the steel frames then became unstable and fell on him, with another colleague managing to jump away in the nick of time.

Murugan suffered severe injuries to his head, ribs and heart, and was killed on the spot after essentially being crushed to death.

He was then pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics, who arrived at the scene after receiving a call for help at about 11.30 am that day.

Investigation findings

The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) investigated the accident and found that Hai Leck Engineering & Construction had not taken adequate safety measures.

The company had conducted a risk assessment for the structural engineering project, but they did not implement the appropriate risk control measures.

As a result, they failed to adequately ensure the stability of the load that Murugan and his colleagues were delivering.

MOM also found that the company had not established proper safety procedures or provided adequate guidance and information to its employees.

The S$200,000 fine is a reminder to all construction companies of the importance of workplace safety.

By taking the necessary precautions, companies can help to prevent accidents and protect their employees.

WHOLE ROW OF MOTORCYCLES KENA WHEEL CLAMPED FOR PARKING IN LOT FOR CARS @ NUH

A photo emerged online showing a row of about 9 motorcycles being wheel clamped in a carpark at the National University Hospital for parking at the lots meant for cars.

The photo was reportedly taken by a netizen named Abby Hew and shared on the ROADS.sg Facebook page, showing the clamped motorcycles at the basement carpark H1 of NUH on Monday (10 July) at about 5pm in the evening.

The row of about 9 motorcycles were seen with the red and yellow wheel clamps affixed firmly on the front tyres, immobilising all the vehicles.

Netizens who are apparently drivers, celebrated the motorcycles being clamped, as they shared anecdotes of how often they were made to park their cars far away and having to walk all the way to the hospital because their parking lots were taken by the motorcycles.

A “motorcyclists vs car drivers” debate then sparked off in the comments section, with both sides sharing their two-cents on the situation.

Netizens’ comments

  1. YAY!! the number of times I had to park at the medical centre and walk for my appt cos car lots were taken up by bikes is countless… I am actually gleeful looking at this…
  2. If got enough motorcycle parking lot, you think will end up like that? Is who’s problem?
  3. They deserve it, all these motorcyclists always park anywhere and anyhow as they wish like they are entitled to. Hope they have to pay a hefty fine or release fees.
  4. not much bike lot in NUH parking. Where should the motorcycle park if all limited lots are taken. Please advise? There are always car lots empty there and motorcycle are not blocking any vehicle moving way.
  5. We should look into this matter. Why can’t malls etc not having motorbike lots?
  6. First time enforcer is taking action … more of this should happen
  7. The management should review carpark utilization by different vehicles types…
If motorcycle have greater demand, they should convert / scrap car lots and convert into motorcycle lots…
Motorcycle also deserves proper parking lots…

S’PORE FAMILY GOT ROBBED IN JB, ROBBERS SMASHED THEIR CAR & STOLE VALUABLES

0

It was supposed to be a memorable family holiday, but for a Singaporean family visiting Johor Bahru (JB), their trip turned into a nightmare when they fell victim to a robbery, according to a report by Shin Min Daily News.

In a shocking incident, the thieves targeted their vehicle, smashing the windscreen and making away with valuable possessions, including cash and bags.

Went to JB for dinner

The unfortunate incident took place at approximately 6 pm on July 8th, near Taman Perling, JB.

The Singaporean family, consisting of seven members, including Ms. Guo, her husband, daughter, 77-year-old mother, two younger sisters, and brother-in-law, had arrived in JB in a minivan and stopped at a restaurant for dinner.

While they were enjoying their meal, their vehicle was targeted by thieves.

Upon returning to their vehicle, the family discovered the horrifying scene. The back seat was scattered with debris from the shattered window, and they noticed a mysterious dark blue dress, unfamiliar to all of them. It became apparent that they had fallen victim to a robbery.

The family quickly realized that their valuables were missing, including RM570 (S$164.49) in cash, bags belonging to Ms. Guo’s 15-year-old daughter and her sister’s mobile phone.

Understandably shaken by the incident, they promptly reported the robbery to the local police station in JB.

Ms. Guo expressed her relief that their vehicle was not stolen but emphasized the importance of the incident serving as a cautionary tale for others.

She hopes that this unfortunate experience will remind the public to be cautious and refrain from leaving valuables unattended in their vehicles.

Traveling to neighboring countries is a common practice for Singaporeans seeking a short getaway. Johor Bahru, with its proximity to Singapore, has always been a popular destination.

However, no one expects to become a victim of a crime while on vacation. This incident serves as a reminder that safety should always be a top priority, even in familiar surroundings.

COUPLE DIVORCED, SON CHOSE TO LIVE WITH FATHER BECAUSE HE GOT A BIGGER HOUSE

0

I (37f) share a son “Tommy” (13m) with my ex “John” (37m). We split up when Tommy was a toddler so he lived full-time with me and then it was 50/50 when he was around 8.

During my first year of marriage, John received a job offer overseas and I initially didn’t want to go with him but John eventually convince me.

I never really liked where we lived and would often talk to John about possibly moving back to Singapore, but John never wanted to discuss it.

When we were in the middle of a divorce the idea of me and Tommy moving away was brought up and John freaked out, saying that I had no right to take away his son and I was hounded by his side of the family.

Tommy is literally the only reason why I still lived where I did and I have always hated the weather and missed my friends.

Before the pandemic, Tommy approached me about living with his dad full-time, and when I asked him why and he assured me that it wasn’t anything about me or where we were living just that at his dad’s place he had more room.

John made more money than me and lived in a four-bedroom house while I had a two-bedroom. I won’t lie and say that I was a little sad at the idea of seeing my son less but I wasn’t going to stop him if he wanted to go.

It was agreed that Tommy would spend a weekend a month and school holidays with me while John and I alternated Holidays.

A while back an old friend reached out and it was great reconnecting. It wasn’t long until we found out that we worked for the same company (it’s a nationwide firm that has multiple offices across the world), and my friend offered to give me a recommendation for a new position that I was trying to apply for.

I was grateful and sad that I didn’t get the job but a week later I was surprised when the firm offered me another position that paid more money and offered more benefits.

It was also back in Singapore so I would get to be near my family again. I immediately said “Yes” and when Tommy came to visit me I told him about the job and asked him if there was anything he wanted to keep while the rest of his stuff would just come with me.

Tommy asked why I would want to move and aside from the money, I told him that I never really liked living here and was always planning on leaving once he turned 18.

Tommy seemed to take the news well but his dad called me furious and said I was manipulative because our son now thinks that I’m “punishing” him for wanting to live with his father full-time.

So am I wrong?

TAN CHUAN JIN CAUGHT MUTTERING F-WORD AFTER JAMUS LIM SPEECH, APOLOGISES FOR BEHAVIOUR

0

Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin found himself at the center of controversy after using “unparliamentary language” during a parliamentary session that was live-streamed by the Ministry of Communications and Informaiton (MCI) in April this year.

During a parliamentary sitting in April, Speaker of Parliament Tan Chuan-Jin uttered a profanity under his breath, which was overheard on the microphone that was still on at the time, and subsequently circulated online, as reported by The Straits Times and Channel NewsAsia.

Tan was heard muttering the phrase “f-g populist” at the 1:25:28 minute mark of MCI’s livestream after calling for MP Vikram Nair (PAP-Sembawang) to speak following a speech by Workers’ Party MP Jamus Lim.

The incident occurred after Jamus Lim, an Associate Professor and Workers’ Party MP, addressed the parliament during a debate on the president’s address.

In his speech, Prof. Lim expressed support for President Halimah Yacob’s call to enhance Singapore’s social compact. He also highlighted the absence of an “official poverty line” in the country, which he found puzzling and exasperating.

Recognizing the gravity of his actions, Speaker Tan Chuan-Jin promptly issued an apology for his use of what he described as unparliamentary language.

He acknowledged the inappropriateness of his choice of words and expressed regret for his behavior during the parliamentary session.

Tan Chuan Jin’s apology on Facebook

There is a recording of a Parliament sitting in April this year that has been circulating. I had to listen to the recording as I did not recall the occasion.

Based on the clip it appears that I had a reaction to a speech made in the chamber.

When I listen to speeches made, like everyone, I do form views on them. What was said were my private thoughts which I had muttered to myself and not to anyone.

However I should not have expressed them aloud or in unparliamentary language, and I apologise for that.

I have also spoken to the Member, A/P Jamus Lim, to make that apology as well; which he has kindly accepted.

Jamus Lim’s response

Commenting on Tan’s Facebook post, Lim confirmed that Tan did indeed call him and apologise for his behaviour, which Lim has accepted.

He said: “Speaker did indeed call, and I have accepted his apology.”
