HEARTLESS MEN THROWS STRAY DOG INTO CROCODILE-INFESTED SWAMP & LAUGH AS IT GOT EATEN

An alarming video depicting the cruel treatment of a stray dog in Tarakan, North Kalimantan, has gained significant attention on social media. The footage captured two individuals throwing the defenseless canine into a swamp known to be inhabited by crocodiles. Another person present filmed the incident.

According to CNN Indonesia, authorities have successfully identified the three individuals involved and their employment status has been terminated by their company.

The video portrays two men, dressed in company uniforms, gripping the dog tightly by its head and back. They callously shook the terrified animal while a person recording the scene audibly counted to three. Subsequently, the dog was heartlessly tossed into the treacherous swamp.

The group of men then laughed as the dog struggled in the water, before being eaten by the crocodiles and disappearing under the water.

Men in video identified

Various animal rights communities in Indonesia promptly reported the incident to the police after the video went viral on social media. Animal Defenders Indonesia, in a press release on June 16, expressed their intention to travel from Jakarta to Tarakan to formally report the case to the local authorities. They have successfully uncovered the identities of the three men featured in the video.

Doni Herdaru, the spokesperson for Animal Defenders Indonesia, stated, “We are now in the process of verifying the information we have obtained. Additionally, if the suspects confess, that could serve as further evidence.”

CNN Indonesia disclosed that the police have named the three individuals connected to the case as DF, SR, and WA. Investigations have revealed that the motive behind their heinous act was frustration over the frequent theft of their food by the stray dog.

Although the suspects have not been arrested or detained, the maximum penalty they may face for this crime is nine months of imprisonment. Indonesian law stipulates that suspects or defendants can only be detained if the crime they committed is punishable by a minimum of five years’ imprisonment.

The three men have been charged under the Animal Husbandry and Animal Health provisions of the Indonesian Criminal Code.

Fired by their company

Furthermore, Detik reported that the company employing the three men, PT Jaya Mimika Lestari (JML), a supplier of construction equipment, has taken swift action. Djamal W, the main director of PT JML, affirmed that the company will not tolerate such behavior from its employees who served as heavy equipment drivers, operating water tank trucks, winch trucks, and cranes.

Djamal emphasized that the incident occurred outside working hours, despite the video clearly showing the men in their company uniforms. The company has fully entrusted the relevant authorities with handling the legal processes involved.

Detil also reported that Djamal said, “While awaiting the legal proceedings, we will terminate our employment relationship with [the three suspects] in accordance with labor laws.”

He extended his apologies for the actions of the three men, asserting, “As a company, we sincerely apologize for the actions of our irresponsible employees.”

S’PORE RUNNING LOW ON BLOOD STOCKS, MINISTRY APPEALS FOR O-BLOOD DONATION

0

Singapore’s Health Minister, Ong Ye Kung, is appealing urgently for O blood donations as the country’s blood stocks have remained at low to moderate levels since the beginning of the year. Minister Ong highlighted this concern during an event at Singapore Expo to commemorate World Blood Donor Day. He emphasized the recent surge in blood usage due to hospitals catching up on elective surgeries and treatments that were postponed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The demand for O blood, which can be utilized in emergencies for patients of any blood group, has reached critical levels, leading to a rapid depletion of stocks. Additionally, Minister Ong noted that the shortage is exacerbated by the June school holidays when many individuals travel. Donations are affected during this period due to regulations that prohibit blood donation after visiting certain countries.

To address this pressing issue, Minister Ong is encouraging both regular and potential donors to cultivate a habit of donating blood before traveling. By doing so, they can significantly contribute to raising Singapore’s blood stocks to healthy and sustainable levels.

Mad Cow Disease

In related news, Minister Ong announced that later this year, Singapore will ease the restrictions on blood donation rules concerning Creutzfeldt-Jakob Disease (vCJD), commonly known as “mad cow disease.” This rare and severe neurological disorder occurs due to the accumulation of abnormal prion proteins in the brain. The disease can manifest spontaneously due to genetic mutations or from consuming contaminated beef products in specific countries during certain years.

Previously, individuals with a history of residing in countries such as the United Kingdom, Ireland, and France for a certain period were prohibited from donating blood due to the risk of vCJD incubation. However, advancements in scientific understanding have led to the development of leucodepletion, a process that removes white blood cells, which can potentially transmit diseases, from transfused blood.

Mr. Ong shared a personal example of how he is affected by this restriction himself. As a student in the late 1980s, he lived in the UK and is currently unable to donate blood due to this policy. However, it’s important to note that no human cases of vCJD transmission through transfusion of leucodepleted blood have been reported thus far. Countries such as the United States and Australia have already lifted geographical risk restrictions associated with vCJD.

Singapore will also follow suit later this year, according to Minister Ong. He expressed his anticipation for the policy change and his eagerness to donate blood and contribute to the cause. In July of last year, Minister Ong previously issued a call for blood donors during the pandemic when stocks of A+ and O+ blood reached critically low levels. His appeal resulted in over 1,700 donors stepping forward within four days.

Minister Ong emphasized that more than 34,000 patients benefited from blood donations in 2022. Individuals interested in donating blood can check their eligibility and schedule an appointment by visiting giveblood.sg.

JOBLESS MAN CLAIMS HE DRIVE LAMBO BUT HAS NO LICENSE

0

A man said that he was driving a Lamborghini and stayed in Bukit Timah end up his friends found out something else.

Here is the story:

Two of my primary school friend who I did not meet for more than 10 years came over to my house for a short drink and gathering.

We were discussing our current work and the “what were are working as” topics.

One of them was an accountant called John and the other one called Timmy said he is in real estate. (Not real name)

Timmy said that he was making big money and fully paid for his bungalow without any loans remaining and he is currently driving a Lamborghini. We were surprised and said if we could go down and try sitting in his Lamborghini.

He said: “My car now park at my Bukit Timah House, I don’t always drive it”

We were more shocked when he told us that he is not only driving a Lamborghini but also staying landed in Bukit Timah. The gathering continue with Timmy trying to show off everynow and then and he showed us his branded stuff he has on him.

When it got late, John was too tipsy to drive and I asked Timmy for help to carry him downstairs.

Timmy responded: “I’m not going to touch him so dirty and smelly”.

Then I said: “fine, then at least go drive down his car from the multi-storey carpark, so valet comes then easier”.

His responds:

Im not going to drive a cheap peasent’s car

I was so pissed off with him and he wanted to leave John at my void deck and leave. He said that he has booked a grab and I managed to peep at his phone.

He was not staying in Bukit Timah, he is staying in an HDB at Punggol. I managed to get the valet to help me drive down the car and John managed to get home safely.

The next day I told John what happened and he was really p*** with Timmy. He said that he is going to expose him. We then contacted another Primary school friend who was in close contact with Timmy and asked about Timmy.

That friend said: “Timmy? Ya he stay near me, next block only. He always find me drink coffee downstairs. Huh what Lambo? Lan Pa la he failed his last 3 driving test” and he jobless now”.

SINGLE WOMAN IN HER 30s WORRIED SHE WILL NEVER FIND MR RIGHT

0

I am in my 30s and I do feel pressure and down on some days when I see friends with husbands/kids and wish for my own family too.

Call me naive but I’m still looking out for the one that will make my heart skip a beat and have comparability with. Don’t want to just settle and go back to a potentially miserable home in future.

I’ve been in quite a few toxic relationships. It’s been almost a year since I’ve been in of a relationship, and I am starting to get really depressed because I feel that I am not worthy of someone’s time.

I’m sick of the loneliness, and I don’t want to feel that ever again. I haven’t been able to find my happiness, and it’s starting to make things worse. I guess my question is, how do I get back out there without using dating apps? I know that sounded really stupid! (No, I am not looking for any hookups, I want something real.) Any advice would be much appreciated.

I’m worried that at this rate I’m gonna be single forever.

LAZY BF REFUSE TO DO HOUSE CHORES, 3 DAYS WORTH OF DIRTY PLATES

0

I (22 female) recently moved in with my boyfriend (24 male). Most of the expenses such as food and furniture were paid from the money I’ve saved throughout my years in school since it took some time for both of us to find a job.

I currently work in a supermarket which means I’m on my feet almost every day for 8 hours, sometimes I even work 9 or 10-hour shifts. My boyfriend starts work next month, which means he’s home all the time playing games on my computer or watching videos/movies.

Since I can barely even stand after I come home from work (this was the only job available btw, I needed something QUICKLY), the only thing I want from him as household chores such as washing the dishes or doing the laundry. I do the sweeping and mopping since he’s bad at it.

Recently we’ve been fighting occasionally about the dishes and laundry not being done even though it’s the ONLY thing I want from him.

He always gets mad and says that he’s not gonna do everything around the house just because he’s at home all day (there currently isn’t a single clean plate since he refused to do the dishes 3 days in a row).

He told me to do the dishes myself if it bothers me so much so I walked out of the house and went to work. Now he’s not talking to me.

So, am I the a**hole?

Edit: please stop telling me to leave him, he is perfect in every other way except house chores

MAN SAYS HE WANT TO DRINK ‘NEI NEI POK JUICE’ TO PASS HIS EXAM

0

I don’t know if this is a regular occurrence, but I went into the kitchen last night about an hour after I told my boyfriend I was going to bed. I always pump before bed so I assumed he would be finding food in the kitchen and Yes we are not married.

When I walked into the kitchen he was sitting at the table and he picked up the bottle I had just pumped earlier and saw him taking a sip. I said “what the h***” and he turned around and got super red in the face. I asked what he was doing and he said “I just took a sip I wanted to try it”. I said “you’re disgusting” and he started to find excuses.

He said “I heard that drinking this is good for the brain and I have an exam coming”

I went back in the bedroom and he never came to bed until this morning, he only came in the room when our daughter started crying.

I asked why he never came to bed, and he said I made him feel embarrassed. I told him nobody was around, and I apologized if I upset him. but it was still gross. He made a comment about how drinking my breast milk is less gross than drinking cows milk, but I said I disagree. Now he’s both upset and irritated with me.

MAN EXPECTS GF TO TELL HIM HIS MICROSCOPIC KKJ IS MT EVEREST

0

I know the title itself makes me sound awful but hear me out. I’ve been with my boyfriend for 7 months and he’s small down there, like 1.5 inches give or take. He constantly asks me if it’s big enough if I can feel it, and I always reassure him and tell him he’s fine. I tell him I’m not with him for his thing down there and he has nothing to worry about.

However the last few days he got increasingly agitated and kept asking me if I was lying if he’s too small, and wouldn’t take “you’re fine” or “You’re average” or “I don’t care how big it is” for an answer. I told him to stop pestering me but this went on for a few more days until I snapped and told him he’s below average but he has nothing to worry about. Obviously, he didn’t take it well.

I don’t lie to him and say it’s big, I say he’s average, has nothing to worry about, etc.

He has talked to me for 3 days and I’m really lost and do not know what to do, honestly, the size down there has never been important to me and he is kind. I am what people would often refer as asexual meaning I have very little interest in this kind of thing.

Eating makes me happier and he makes me delicious meals all the time.

What should I do?

MAN WENT INTERVIEW DRUNK AND EXPECTS TO LAND A JOB

0

Ok, so I know the title sounds bad, but bear with me – I had my reasons.

So, I have been really struggling to find a job since I graduated. I’m searching in a highly competitive field (think finance), and yesterday was the first time I was invited to an interview.

I took a few shots of whisky when I woke up, just to settle my nerves a little.

However, by the time I was sitting in the company’s waiting room, the effects had completely worn off. I started to feel sick with nerves – the pressure of the interview stage was getting to me after months of writing applications. I decided to sneak off to the toilet to take a couple of pre-interview shots to calm my nerves. The interview that followed actually went really well – I had great chemistry with the interviewer, and we were laughing, flirting etc.

The problem came when I, very stupidly, decided to sneak in another shot (for good luck) before the final interview with the CEO. Sadly, she emerged from her office precisely as I was mid-gulp. She looked horrified and told me to leave the building. I tried to explain to her about my anxiety, and how I was simply medicating it, but she wouldn’t listen and called security to take me away. Afterwards, I sent the company an apology e-mail and asked for another chance, but they haven’t yet replied.

My mother thinks I’m an ***hole for drinking at all and called me an alcoholic, (she doesn’t really understand alcohol,) but my brother ‘doesn’t see the issue’ as long as I wasn’t drunk.

Am I wrong? Come on!

BOSS GOSSIPS & INSULTS STAFF BEHIND HER BACK, PLAYS FAVOURITISM IN THE OFFICE

0

How to make the best out of my 16 weeks in a snake pit?

To those who are hanging in there, trying to complete your contract at a job before you say adios, how do you do it?

Stuck in a company for another 16 weeks and as the weeks go by and I am beginning to resent my supervisor. Doesn’t helps that I have to see him all five days in office lol.

This man openly gossips to other co-workers who are seated next to his cubicle about this woman who used to be under him.

The woman in question has resigned two months ago to spend more time with her newborn, and he still continues to engage in gossips, saying how “weird” she is and makes pointless jokes about her.

I know that if he has the audacity to talk this openly about someone who reports to him, he is definitely gossiping about me, the other woman who reports to him.

I make a mistake and I get blasted in the group chat. Someone he openly favours makes the same mistake and he tells me to “it’s not a major mistake” when I point that out. All while this joker tells me that we need to “uphold standards in the work we produce” when he has little to none to begin with.

I contribute ideas to the team and it gets shot down instantly. Person A, whom he favours and loves, says the same thing after paraphrasing and it gets a pass.

I dread stepping into office every Monday and stopped working over the weekends (used to every single weekend) because it never gets appreciated.

Just don’t know how to ride out the next 16 weeks. Any tips will be appreciated. I desperately need it.

Thank you in advance!

S’PORE WOMAN SAYS SHE GOT FIRED FOR BEING PREGNANT, COMPANY DIDN’T OFFER COMPENSATION

0

Hi everyone. Do bear with me as this is going to be a long post.

I have been working in Company X for close to 4 years. Last month, I was being terminated with immediate effect by the company while I was 16 weeks pregnant without any maternity compensation or notice in lieu payment.

I strongly believe that the termination was related to my pregnancy as I have been facing discrimination up to the point of my termination.

During my first trimester of pregnancy, I had a series of events which required me to seek medical attention due to brown spotting.

I had been recommended by the doctor to be placed on light duties at work until my condition stabilises as my condition has a risk of a miscarriage.

I had a discussion with my boss and we have mutually agreed that I will be taking unpaid leave for the next 30 days as they do not have any light duties to put me on.

I had a high fever on the 30th day and I went to a clinic where the doctor has taken my temperature and prescribed me pregnancy safe medication and was given a 5 days MC to recover at home.

When I returned back to work after the 30+5 days and my condition stabilised, I was then told I will be placed under a Performance Improvement Program as they would like to monitor my working performance and attendance.

Upon enquiring on what was the act of misconduct being committed, my boss and manager has very begrudgingly claimed that I have not been considering how my team were working hard to cover me during my absence and this has caused disruptions in their operations.

I was reluctant to sign as I feared that this would mean that I have acknowledged that I have committed a wrongdoing which I found it appalling to be accused of this when it was a mutual agreement for me to be away in order for my pregnancy to stabilise.

I was then being told that it is not by choice for me to acknowledge and I would have to sign the PIP agreement or hand in my resignation letter.

For context, we are working in a retail and shift environment and 5.5 days a week. I have never had any performance issues even prior to my pregnancy and I have had many good reviews on the company’s Google Page Reviews and returning customers who looks for me.

I have even recommended my friends and family members to engage in the company’s product and services and my relationship with my boss and manager has been good up until the point where they found out I was pregnant.

I have even tendered my resignation in 2022 and was counter offered to stay on with them. I suspect that this move of placing me under PIP was a calculated move in order to fulfil the requirements set out on MOM website to terminate me eventually despite pregnancy protection.

After this incident, I noticed a change of attitude towards me from my boss and manager during work. Whenever they found an opportunity to shout or scold me, they would take it.

I would lament to my family members at home about how miserable at work I am and if I should resign. With their encouragement, I decided to grit my teeth and stay on as I do have a BTO which is estimated to be complete on June 2024 and I would be needing to have an income to acquire a sufficient quantum of HDB loan.

About a month later, I was being called in to a room by my boss and manager. They have alleged that I have influenced my colleague to join rival companies and I have breached a non-solicitation clause stated in my employment contract that I am not allowed to influence or attempt to influence a colleague to join rival companies during my employment with them.

This has caused me to be confused as they alleged that the colleague who I influenced to join a rival company is the colleague who I have referred in to join us 2 months ago.

My colleague has shared with me that she has been quite stressed to be working in such a fast paced environment and has been even crying to her mother at home. She confided in me if she should resign and move on to a slower paced environment.

I have shared with my colleague the pros and cons of leaving now as most companies may question on why would she leave her current employment after such a short stay, but if the mental health is more important to her, there are a lot of job postings online to explore.

Somehow, there was another colleague who was eavesdropping on our conversation and have reported this to my boss. My boss then told me that it is either I hand in my resignation or they will be presenting me with a termination letter with immediate effect without any maternity compensation or notice in lieu.

I have chosen the latter and I have reported this matter to TADM which I will be seeking compensation on my maternity benefit and notice in lieu.

Now the biggest concern I have now is, I am having a very hard time securing a new role due to my pregnancy and no company would be willing to hire me now and I have a BTO ready in June 2024.

I am unable to work until maybe about February or March 2024 after my rest from my estimated delivery date in November 2023.

Would like to seek some advise if anyone here has any similar scenarios where they would be able to share how or what can I expect from here on?

Thank you so much for reading up till this point and appreciate any kind responses.

TLDR; I was being wrongfully terminated while being pregnant and I am concerned over how I can obtain a sufficient quantum for my BTO loan which I am able to collect my keys in June 2024.
