NETIZEN SAYS DON’T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT RETIREMENT IN S’PORE, SHARES “CPF HACK”

0

as a young university graduate employee you may find yourself worried about retirement.

retirement is nothing to worry about. all Singapore citizens and PR have this amazing pension plan called the CPF life.

the trick to cpf hacking to meet “enhanced retirement sum” and “basic healthcare sum” is inaction.

yes simply do nothing to your MA and SA.

all you need to do is to earn a high income by age 30.

ie. get a minimum of 6K monthly pay and total bonus of 5mths additional wages. ie 102,000 of your income must attract CPF.

at this income, you will find yourself meeting basic healthcare sum easily. and the excess will be transferred to SA regularly. if you continue to attract 102,000 annual income, you will get enhanced retirement sum from just your SA alone, and from the automatic MA transfers to SA.

just use your OA liberally for housing, and enjoy your quality of life. because your (SA+MA) will be able to hit (ERS+BHS) at age 55 anyway. you will get an annuity of 5k per month at age 65.

TLDR: use the skills given by NUS to find a 6k/mth job with 5 months bonus per year & work for 30 years from age 25-55.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Knn, mai gong wu gong bo lah. U talk like easy especially the 5 mths bonus.
  2. You think getting a high income job is like going to the market and buying fish so easy ah, did your mum drop you on the head when you were a baby
  3. Hopefully you accounted for inflation as well… It’s not practical to find 5mths bonuses… Just find a job that pays 10k monthly
  4. Somewhat unpopular opinion here but I’m a huge fan of cpf.
This is especially true when I went for a back surgery years ago. Long story short after deductions i only had to pay a lot less than the actual sum.
As for cpf life if we really wanna calculate to the grave then we just need to make sure we hit the sum to be enrolled in the program and live long enough because we’re basically paid a sum of money even when our own cpf dries up.
  5. You think everyone out there is earning 10k above ah, not sure you drunk or what. Truth to be said, unless u are super high income earner, as years pass by, don’t forget the sum will go up indefinitely.
Haven’t talk about the uprising cost and inflation, with gst too. Maybe when u have a clearer head then come back and continue your talk
  6. Eh what you smoking

WOMAN SAYS S’POREANS TOO REALISTIC & CALCULATIVE, EVERYTHING IS ABOUT MONEY

0

I think many Singaporeans are too realistic, too materialist and too selfish, with disregard for everything else. EVERYTHING is about money, and must be viewed in the perspective of profit and loss.

Eating out, family relationship, friendship. Their philosophy in life is too…selfish and calculative.

And they generally have a fragile ego about Singapore – if anyone says Singapore or Singaporeans no good, CONFIRM jump, even for honest feedback or personal feelings.

Super predictable like knee jerk reaction. You know, people elsewhere are not like that – there tend to be a higher percentage of objective and opened minded people.

I know if this gets published, sure got people curse my eighteen generations of ancestors, and ask me to F off to other countries etc., “not happy, leave” etc…

But I don’t care! Admin, pls publish if possible. I’d just like to rant. It’s so tired dealing with people like that. Life is more than profits at the end of the day

Netizens’ comments

  1. You said SGeans are profits centric, realistic, materialistic etc. Have you ever wonder why?
SG is an ultra small country. So small, you can’t even find it on the map.
How do you think we can compete with the likes of China, US, Europe etc if our people are not realistic, materialistic and competitive.
It’s easy to diss a country while enjoying all the perks like efficient transport, accessible amenities, safe place to live and work.
All those perks you enjoy right now are there because we are realistic, materialistic and profits centric ( I have never heard of a country that build a bridge with happiness)
  2. Singaporeans are amazing people, but OP def has a point. Life is not a competition (for money?) and other people are not competitors.
  3. Aiyo still have to be realistic wad…or else what? Living in a fantasy with unicorns flying around? Cannot right?
  4. We speak english, have the greatest airport, airline, passport, strong currency and most competitive economy maybe behind US … I paused for sec reading the word “jump”. Ya it’s annoying, I know you know they know right

MAN CHEATED ON WIFE WITH VIETBU, WHO THEN CHEATED HIM OF $100K – KARMA

Nephew tio scammed by young Vietnamese lady and now I have some concern

I want to ask has anyone caught their partners chatting up or following those Vietnamese girls (mostly sleazy looking profiles showing them in actual photos of them clad minimally, like just a bra and a panty) on Tik Tok .. ?

We are an old local couple but recently I found all these sleazy Viet women sending connection requests to my partner’s account.. and I know men will mostly gladly accept them, which is what worries me the most.

I remember having a younger married nephew gotten scammed by a young Vietnamese woman, and lost almost 100K in savings. The wife also left him cause he spent time overnight with the Vietnamese woman, whom he knew also slept with several other men aside from him (in the same period when they were together..)

So, back to my question… Should I remind my partner to be more careful on Tik Tok? To not make the same mistake as my nephew? (My nephew life was totally messed up by this Viet lady, so pitiful as he now has to constantly borrow money from me to survive tough time after the lady fled back to Vietnam.. haiz, my nephew still quite young in his 20s only also tio scammed, which I really don’t understand).

So now I am worried about those women on Tik Tok. Is there any filter I can apply to keep my partner from those minimally clad Vietnamese women accounts on Tik Tok?

If anything happen, how can old couple like us handle it…? I feel very worried but my partner doesn’t seem to take any precautions and still happily accept their friend or follower requests.

I am seriously so worried……Can someone please help? Can Tik Tok come up with some filter options? Else I guess will have to delete my partner Tik Tok’s account and then talk to him about the potential problems which he might not be aware of..

Need good advice. Don’t want my partner to be scammed.

FRIEND BORROWED 5 FIGURES, WHEN NEED $$$ TREAT LIKE KING, WHEN RETURN TREAT LIKE GHOST

I screwed up by lending my friend money

Before anyone passes judgement, I know I was damn stupid to lend my friend 5 digit worth of money, only for everything to be lost in a scam.

We were all victims of the situation, especially my friend, so I tried being understanding about the due date in which they would return the money to me. They owe about 6 digits worth to multiple people.

A lot of people say this money is confirm lost, no need to look back at it. But 5 digits is a huge sum, and at this point it is a matter of principle.

I didn’t need the money ASAP so I told my buddy they can take their time to pay back, focus on the more kancheong ppl first.

It has been 2 years, and I can’t help but to be impatient because I see them going on trips to Japan and Korea and all that with their family.

Like hello, did you forget you got debt to pay? I’m trying to be nice and give you your human right to enjoy life la, I don’t want to be an along.

But this money is a big deal to me too. Just because I don’t make noise, doesn’t mean you can take advantage right?

I’m sure they are not doing it on purpose, but it does make me anxious. Especially now I’m planning to get married, I need that cash soon.

I never want to lose friendship because of money, because honestly this is my buddy buddy. When I fell on hard times they helped me out big time financially also.

But the difference is I paid my dues on time, they are currently not doing that.

What do I do? I know I already screwed up lending him, not going to do it again, but I want my money back. I know for a fact he can pay.

WORKERS 1V1 @ YISHUN FRUIT STALL, WANT TO TAKE KNIFE BUT KENA STOPPED, 37 Y.O ARRESTED

0

According to 8world News, a fight had reportedly broken out on Monday (8 May) between two workers from two durian stalls in Yishun beside each other, with the conflict reportedly stemming from cigarettes.

The two workers had previously had altercations with each other but this was the first time things got heated and escalated into a fistfight that almost turned deadly.

One of the men attempted to pick up a fruit knife to attack the other party but was stopped by witnesses at the scene.

A 37-year-old man was subsequently arrested for assault while a 23-year-old man was conveyed to the hospital conscious.

8world News reported that the incident occurred on Monday at about 10.10am at Block 846 Yishun Ring Road, at two durian stalls that were side by side.

A witness said that the man in blue (as seen in the photo below) had suddenly shouted at the man in red, stepping up to the latter and wanting to hit him but was stopped by the other employees from the two stalls.

Fight started from cigarette

The fight had apparently started when the man in red gave a cigarette to the man in blue, and the latter then suddenly got agitated and shouted at the former, poking his chest in the process.

He then picked up an umbrella and a mop to hit the man in red, breaking the mop in the process although his attempts to hit the man in red missed.

The man in blue then started choking the man in red and punched him in the head before the latter broke free, but his clothes ended up being torn and his slippers fell off.

The man in red got upset at being attacked for no seeming reason and in an attempt to defend himself, picked up a red chair, before leaving the scene.

The man in blue then went back to his fruit stand and grabbed a knife, before being stopped by the other workers who rushed over to prevent the situation from deteriorating.

However, things continued escalating and the employees then called the police for help, and upon the police’s arrival, both men involved in the scuffle gave their statements.

The police said that they had received a report of an assault that took place along Yishun Ring Road on 8 May at about 10.10am, and arrested a 37-year-old man, while the younger man was sent to the hospital.

At the time of writing, police investigations are underway.

Worker often smelled like alcohol

A witness shared that the man in blue had only begun working at the fruit stall about a month ago, and would almost smell like alcohol whenever he’s nearby.

He added that the man in blue would also often get into arguments with the staff from the other stall, and had previously got into an altercation with the man in red on 2 to 3 different occasions.

FOODPANDA CUSTOMER RECEIVED $85 ORDER THEN CLAIM “MISSING ORDER”, EATERY LOST $75

0

An eatery at Macpherson Road, KL Traditional Chilli Ban Mee, posted on their Facebook page sharing about how they received an order for 6 sets of Ban Mee meals for $84.60.

They prepared the food and even captured the delivery rider who collected all the food items for delivery.

However, Foodpanda sent them an email 4 days later about the customer claiming that almost 95% of their order was missing, and the eatery ended up only earning $9.70 from their $84.60 order, meaning they lost $74.90.

Here is what they said

It breaks our hearts to admit that running a F&B business is tougher than ever. The rising rental costs and high overheads have taken a toll on us. We put our hearts and souls into our work, but it seems like we’re barely surviving.

Recently, we received an order for 6 sets of Ban Mee meals and a milk tea worth $84.60. But when the refund instruction from FoodPanda came, we were only left with $9.70.

And the worst part? We weren’t given any photo proof to support the claim. It’s disheartening to see such an unfair refund policy.

Let us tell you more about what happened. On 05/05/23 at 11:36am, we received a huge order of few Ban Mee sets and 1 milk tea.

Our staff worked diligently to prepare the food and double-checked everything before putting it on the collection table at 11:51am.

The rider came at 12:00pm and collected 1 milk tea and 1 packet containing a few Ban Mee set meals. The same rider returned at 12:02pm and picked up 2 packets with a few Ban Mee set meals.

But, 4 days later, on 09/05/23 at 4:33pm, we received an email from FoodPanda claiming that the order had missing items, which was a vague reason.

We’ve been running this business since 2016 and prepare Chilli Ban Mee every single day. It’s highly unlikely that we missed out on any ingredients for our signature dish.

We’re also troubled by the fact that there’s no photo or video proof from the customer to support the claim of missing items.

We’ve already reached out to FoodPanda via email, and we’re hoping for a resolution soon. However, it’s disheartening to face such challenges while trying to keep our business afloat.

We plead with our customers not to take advantage of the refund policy of food delivery platforms. We put in hours of preparation to make your dishes, and every penny we earn is hard-earned. It may be just a click for you, but for us, it’s our livelihood.

WOMAN TOOK SELFIE ALONE INSIDE S’PORE HOTEL LIFT, BUT SEES 5 “PEOPLE” BEHIND IN MIRROR

0

Twitter user Liyana shared on her Twitter page that she had allegedly had a ghostly encounter at a “really cheap hotel” near Suntec City.

She said that she was alone inside the hotel lift at the time and was taking selfies of herself when she saw in her phone camera that there were 5 or 6 “people” behind her.

When she turned around to check, she was still alone in the lift, which confirmed to her that those “people” were not actually people.

Here is what she said

F my hotel is haunted I am not kidding

So I’m at Doujima in Suntec City, Singapore and we got a really cheap hotel. juhaihai left something at the hotel room and I went back to get it. Otw back from the room I get into the elevator alone and since Im a vain ho I decide to take a selfie in the elevator.

I opened up my phone camera and there was A GROUP OF LIKE 5 OR 6 PEOPLE IN THE LIFT WITH ME, none of them seemed to notice me?? They looked like older Chinese people and I turned around to see and sure enough I was still alone in the lift.

Anyways I quickly put down my phone and opted not to take the photo so as to not get their attention.

Thank God and all that is holy I only had 1 floor to go down so the lift doors opened quickly.

I walked as calmly as I could out of the hotel but inside I was holding back tears and I think I was visibly shaking cos some people stared at me??

I’m at the convention center rn and have calmed down since there’s big crowds of people here but I’m dreading going back there tonight and can’t afford to find somewhere else to stay

I swear on my life this is a real experience. I love horror as a genre but no amount of horror movies could’ve prepared me for the fear I felt in that moment

my doctor bro said it’s probably due to exhaustion but I know what I saw… it’s up to you guys if you wanna believe me or not, thanks for listening to my TEDtalk the end
