MAN INJURED AT WORK & TOLD DON’T COME BACK, 4 YEARS LATER BOSS ASK HIM RETURN

0

Told my old boss of 4 years to f off when he tried to contact me about coming back

For some context, I worked retail for 4 years, and did a lot more work than I should’ve. When I asked about a promotion they told me “we want you to have the responsibility but not the role”

So I would always work my socks off, but I would get treated poorly. I couldn’t even take my lunch without my boss calling me to get to work (I wouldn’t, but he would always yell at me.)

his idea of being a boss is adding more work so it can stress you out and “make you faster and a better worker.”

All it did was cause people to get breakdowns and quit the job.

My manager was always getting yelled at too and he was great at treating his employees right, but was let go recently.

About a year ago I messed up my back on the job and my boss was making it hard to deal with my situation. Couldn’t even take the time I needed to heal without stressing over my job thanks to my boss.

Well I tried to go back to work but he said no because I’m a liability, and I was then left jobless.

Well since then I managed to get a job I applied for, for YEARS. My old manager was fired and I heard the store has gotten super downhill. I went after work one day to grab something to eat in which he stopped me to ask if I’m still interested in coming back. I looked at him and said “f off, I’m not gonna let myself work for a lousy boss again”

I felt so f-ing good after that, left with the biggest smile on my face. He looked red, I just wanted to share this since It’s the highlight of my year

Netizens’ comments

  1. Nah, I’m not going to work for a manager who is a liability”
  2. “lol, I was never interested in coming back”

MAN BOUGHT 2ND HAND WATCH NEVER SEE PROPERLY, FOUND A SCRATCH & NOW WANT REPORT POLICE

0

Buyer wants to make a police report of an item that i sold to him?

I sold a watch to a buyer in Carousell, he checked the condition all was tested ok then he transferred me the money.

He wants to make a police report cause there’s a scratch he did not notice during the meet up. I have sent videos and photos before meeting the buyer.

I told him, i am unable to refund him due to , (the buyer) can damage the watch or modify the movement after i sold it to him and he already checked the watch and deem is in good condition before transferring me the money.

I have all the chat logs from carousell and whatsapp messages, stating that he is okay to check the watch before dealing with me.

PS. The watch i sold to him is authentic. It’s illegal to sell fake watches here in Singapore.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Move on, there’s nothing he can do, the only thing he can do is seek help from tribunal small claim.
Sounds like a typical scam from the buyer side.
This is more of an agreement between the seller and buyer, he checked the watch or the item and deemed is in favorable condition and he transferred the fund to you.
Keep all the chat logs handy incase any IO contact you.
Most likely, the IO won’t even touch this case if the (buyer) lodge a report.
I work in the Singapore Police Force.
  2. There’s nothing he can do to you via the police. It was an agreed upon transaction between 2 individuals (not businesses), so the buyer has no leg to stand on.
  3. Ignore him. He has no basis or proof to claim that the watch has been scratched by you prior to buying it. He could have caused the scratch after you handed over the watch to him, and is now trying to use this reason to pull off a scam on you.
  4. Nothing he can do, with what you have stated above, he can’t prove beyond reasonable doubt that you have the intention of scamming him. Source: ex lawyer

BF PAYS FOR EVERYTHING AT HOME, JOBLESS GF EATS ALL THEIR FOOD & LEAVES HIM NOTHING

yelling at my gf to stop eating everything?

My(28m) gf(26f) got laid off about 6 months ago. She has been unemployed ever since. This means money is tight. I am covering all of our rent, utilities, groceries, etc.

My problem is that my gf keeps eating all of our food. Like, all of it. We always run out of food money before my paycheck comes in.

She’ll eat everything she wants, and leave me with plain crackers or lettuce. I mean, everything. Even stuff I’ve specifically labelled or said I want.

The cupboards will be bare and I’ll have to skip meals three days before my next paycheck because she’s eaten everything. She’s probably gained 10kg since she was let go.

I came home from work for lunch the other day and brought each of us a Subway sandwich. I only ate half of mine, so I popped it in the fridge and told her I’d just have it for dinner. When I got off work and went to get it, she’d already eaten it.

It really got out of hand when I bought some cupcakes to give to my sister(17f) for her birthday, and some pomegranate juice that I really love but can’t often have because it’s a little bit expensive.

I put them in the fridge, told her not to touch them, and both were gone. There was only one cupcake left out of a box of four full-sized ones and my juice was all gone.

I lost it. I screamed at her to stop eating everything I buy. We’ve had this conversation before or tried to in a polite way, but she shuts me down and denies it.

She says she’s hungry, and she’s stressed from being unemployed, and she can’t help it. I yelled at her and told her it was disgusting that I can’t leave food in my own home. She started crying and telling me I’m “fat shaming her”.

NSF FALL IN LATE, MADE TO COUNT ALL THE STONES IN THE PARADE SQUARE & REPORT STRENGTH

0

Dumbest experiences you’ve had in NS

What are some of the dumbest shit you’ve experienced in NS? I’ll go first: someone from my platoon lost their jockey cap during outfield so the entire platoon had to wear our helmets as headdress all the way from the outfield site, in the bus back to camp all the way back to coy line.

Netizens’ comments

  1. My camp had this siao lang who broke into the officers mess at night and drink all the Tiger beer, then he got drunk and fell into the longkang and toh inside. Kena discovered by guard duty prowlers and the next day kena charge and sent to DB.
  2. Wear running shoes to toilet for showering also
  3. One person didn’t patch up his camo during BMT outfield during break time. End up whole platoon camo on camo off.
  4. Some goondu legit did not shower for the full 2 weeks confinement, and did not wash his uniform, only febreeze and carry on
Some guy washed his socks and left it in his cupboard to dry, so ofc the cupboard smelt like shit. When sgt asked him to put outside, the socks turned brown (this was the white and grey socks) by the next day. Dunno wtf he washed it with but jesus
  5. Got one guy overslept and was late to fall in for first parade, everyone was in long 4 and this joker fall in with his admin tee and slippers. The platoon sergeant jitao sibei dulan and made him go and count all the rocks in the parade square and report strength to him while we senang diri and wait for him.
  6. This is my story ah, during our ATEC mission, I was deployed to ambush the enemy and take out their tank with my matador.
So after camping for about 4 hours, the enemy finally showed up and I only had one shot, I dashed into the middle of the road right behind the tonner (the “tank”) and fired my matador, but still managed to miss. Mission failed. We had to redo the whole thing and I became the joke of the battalion.
  7. During flag raising, I was supposed to raise the flag and the RSM was behind me at the time. As I was raising the flag, my hand slipped and the flag almost dropped all the way to the ground but I managed to catch it just in time and quickly raised it back up. I turned around and saw the look of horror on my sergeant’s face as the RSM turned to stare at him.
  8. So during one of my outfield missions, we were disembarking from the helicopter and supposed to fan out and check for enemies while the helicopter took off. I suddenly heard RSM shouting “whose magazine is this” and realised that it was mine. He found my magazine under the helicopter and needless to say, I kena the best F in my whole life.
  9. Platoon mate got caught smoking in toilet, PS made the whole platoon crawl one by one to the cubicle he smoked in, touch the toilet bowl and shout “THANK YOU (the smoker’s name)” while my PS hosed us down
  10. During GCC, one guy couldn’t finish his food and vomited a bit back into his plate, but didn’t say anything and kept quiet. The instructor told his friend to help him eat finish his food, and when the guy later found out that he had eaten the blur fella’s vomit, all hell broke loose inside the bunk.
  11. I remember outside my bunk watching a trainee at coyline salute “Mr Sun” and ask him to go away because it was very hot

WORKER GOT FIRED BECAUSE HE LEFT A BOTTLE OF WINDOW CLEANER ON SOMEONE’S TABLE

0

My boss fired me for the stupidest reason

I was a custodian at a office job and been there for 7 years. I very rarely had any problems. I just go around the building fix anything that needs to be fixed, clean, ect. But I got fired last night.

What happened was, I was cleaning the windows inside and outside. I accidentally left a bottle of window cleaner on somebody’s desk and I went home and totally forgot about it.

How that happened was I had two bottles of them. The one on the desk was half empty and the one I was cleaning with was full.

I just forgot about it. It was left there the whole night when I came into work the next day, the coworkers desk that I left the window cleaner on went and told my boss.

After he talked to me he told me I was fired. I asked him why and he told me because I left the window cleaner on someone’s desk.

Netizens’ comments

  1. I would contact the company/hr and ask for a written statement for the reason fired.
    • Yes, and when you get the statement, frame it up and hang it in your living room, that is gold.
  2. Damn. If it had been bleach, they’d probably have called the police.
  3. This sounds to me like an excuse to get someone off the books. Fight it. If you have no prior warnings there is no way this is a fireable offense.
  4. This should serve as a warning for everyone: if you suspect your employer wants to get rid of you or lay off people in general, don’t give them any excuse to cut you without proper compensation.
  5. Ask for the reason why you were fired. If they give a vague answer, write another email and tell them they didn’t ever warn you about your performance issues.

INSURANCE AGENT ASKED FRIEND TO JOIN HIM SO CAN GET PROMOTED, THEN PANGSEH HIM & LEAVES

0

Got smoked by insurance agent

Sup bois, I need some advice.

Few months ago, an insurance agent friend of mine from AIA approached me and asked if I wanted to join him as a supplementary head count(so basically I dont need to close any clients, just exist in the org) so that he could qualify for promotion.

He said that he would pay me about 1.2k, with all the papers covered etc and any fees also will be covered.

So I took the papers and signed with AIA and got the money. However, about 1 month in, he suddenly said he was going to quit and move to another org.

Initally tried to get me to move with him too, but I refused since there was no incentive for me to do so. As such I told him I was going to resign.

Fast forward to the present, I have received a letter of demand from AIA stating that I have to pay back like $400 to them for misc fees and will be taking legal action if not paid back.

This shit was literally not mentioned to me by the FA who said he would be handling all the fees. When I asked him, he just said that he wasnt in AIA anymore and asked me to liase with his previous director.

Ngl bois, I might have messed up and have to pay the $400. But just wanted to get your thoughts and suggestions if there is anyway I can avoid paying the fee.

I have approached the director already but he seems to be ghosting me. Pretty shady move by the FA to backstab me like this ngl.

Netizen’s comments

  1. Oh dude you can totally report them to MAS. The headcount arrangement is illegal.
I went through this exact same thing as you, except I never signed the contract and never followed through with it. Still I had paid a $1,000 deposit which they refused to return to me. I threatened to report them to MAS and they fully refunded me.
Then I reported them to MAS anyway and the whole team got burnt—director, manger, everybody. It’s a serious fine.
    • (OP) Problem is the director himself did not know about this arrangment. Only the FA that left knew about this arrangment and now he is in another org 🙁
  2. “You can’t cheat an honest man”.
You weren’t the honest man here. You put your name on the line to gain 1.2k without doing any work, and you knew that what you were doing was unethical.
You still netted $800. Count yourself lucky. If you report your “friend”, maybe you will get into trouble too, which is what your “friend” is counting on. You basically conspired with him to cheat AIA.

DOG RAN TOWARDS OLD COUPLE & FREAKED THEM OUT, NETIZEN ASKS IS IT ILLEGAL TO UNLEASH DOGS

0

Is unleashed dog legal?

Frequently, ive seen people leaving their dog unleashed when taking a walk. However, there was one occasion where the dog just ran towards an old couple. They were freaked out and started scolding the owner for not leashing. The owner seem unapologetic though.

Is it illegal to leave their dog unleashed and let them roam around? I believe not everyone is comfortable with animals near them

Thanks

Netizens’ comments

  1. Yes, it is illegal to have an unleashed dog in Singapore. Under the Control of Dogs Act, it is mandatory for dogs to be leashed in public places, including parks, beaches, and other common areas. Failure to comply with the law can result in fines, and repeated offenses may lead to the dog being impounded or even put down.
  2. Gotta be on leash, as per laid out in the statute for dog licensing and control. Otherwise both dog and owner will be in trouble.
  3. No it’s illegal to leave a dog unleashed
  4. the problem is those who don’t leash their dogs really DGAF when you ask them to leash their dogs. there are many signs in parks asking owners to leash their dogs, I don’t believe the owners still don’t know what they should do.
I jog frequently along a PCN and I always see the same people with unleashed dogs. They even walk ahead of their unleashed dogs on a narrow path, paying no attention to the dog wtf.
I have told those people to leash their dogs multiple times but they still don’t care (I’m deathly afraid of dogs but I’m ok to jog past if the dog is on a leash).
  5. Just ytd i saw this woman with an unleashed small dog at sengkang pcn, doggo was running left and right across the busy cycling & jogging paths.
Asked her to leash her dog and she told me to mind my own business, ok lor hope your dog gets hit.

GUY THOUGHT SIGN ON ARMY WILL FINALLY GET MUM’S RESPECT, BUT SHE STILL NAGS AT HIM

I’m still stuck in this parental cycle of gaslighting

Here I thought signing on at 22 years old would send enough of a message that I have enough resolve to toil and self-afford whatever I have always wanted.

But not only is my parent making noise about how I spend my salary, she’s also making noise about how much leave I’m using. What makes it worse is that the holiday destinations she keep hinting to me, I either dread or just have no interest whatsoever.

Case in point, one day she decided to ask me “You don’t like to wear thick thick (for winter) correct?” I said “Ya” The next thing she asked was “Want to accompany me go see northern lights?” NB THEN ASK ME FOR WHAT? Are you doing this on purpose or something?

Also she keeps hinting Hokkaido and Okinawa, one being nothing but mountains and 6 hour long bus tides, the other being just scenery which I’m just not that into. Every time I say I don’t like those, she starts to pout like a kid who doesn’t get their way with candy. My god…

She keeps buying on clothes on impulse from livestream sellers, but most of the time don’t even fit or quickly deems it “not really her style”, and ends up donating the bulk of it to the town council collection drive. And here she complains about ME buying too many anime figures…

Netizens’ comments

  1. Your mom is looking at you as a means to get what she wants.
Just draw your line of boundaries. Just say you are saving.
There is a reason not to disclose your salary to your parents. Because they will input those number and think the earliest age they can retire
    • yup, draw the line but continue supports with essential stuff like bills, groceries etc after you ord and have more income. holidays are after all a want, not a need.
my sister didn’t set boundaries and she pretty much has to support my parents. they would demand stuff from her while they’re very reluctant to ask me anything.
  2. Bro ngl this doesn’t pertain to NS in general, but I believe everyone who reads this would tell you this nonsense is normal Asian Parenting problems. It’s not just something that can be scrapped even if you sign-on in the army. Even full-time employees working at some famous corporation gets the same nonsense as you. Honestly, I gave up getting pissed with my parents over that kind of nonsense too. Just do it your way. It’s your life after all.

NEIGHBOUR FROM HELL ALLEGEDLY THROWS CURRY & EGGS OUTSIDE HOUGANG MAN’S HOME

An 81-year-old HDB resident living in Hougang is complaining that his neighbour, who lives one floor below him, allegedly throw eggs, flour and curry outside his home.

The resident, Mr Liu who has been living in Block 693 Hougang Street 61 for more than 30 years, spoke to Shin Min Daily News and said that he didn’t have any problems with his neighbours until August last year.

The culprit is allegedly the son of a neighbour who lives directly below Liu’s home, who claimed that Liu was making loud noises from his home.

The man then allegedly retaliated by throwing eggs and flour outside the elderly man’s home.

Liu told SMDN that he had brought up the issue with the man’s parents, who agreed that he should report the incident to the police.

Following that, Liu then installed a CCTV camera outside his home worth about $500 to collect evidence after approaching the town council for help, and the vandalism then stopped for a while.

However, the acts then soon resumed and on 20 April, the man allegedly showed up outside Liu’s home at about 4am to throw eggs outside his unit, as well as kicking his shoes that were left outside.

The man then returned at 8am once again to throw even more eggs.

Things then got even worse on 22 April when the man returned once again to throw eggs and pour curry on Liu’s window, with Liu saying that the eggs would then rot and generate a foul odour because of the heat, which makes it hard to remove from his home.

He added that he will be submitting the evidence that he had gathered to the police.

Liu shared that he had previously spoken to the man’s parents, and they told him to report it to the police – Liu had wanted to get their understanding on the situation as well as settle the issue amicably.

They had been neighbours for about 30 years.

He also wanted to seek the alleged culprit’s understanding on the latter’s perceived noise complaints, explaining that the sounds came from him cooking or when his grandchildren were running around in the home.

He added that his granddaughters have since grown up and no longer run around the house, and he also doesn’t cook very often at home anymore, but the man is still claiming that he can still hear “chopping noises” when the old man hasn’t done anything.

Reporters from Shin Min visited the HDB block in question and interviewed the father of the alleged culprit, 76-year-old Mr Wu, who explained that his son had been involved with bad company when he was young, resulting in him being jobless for more than 10 years.

Wu added that his son was also previously jailed for 3 years back in 2015 for drug offences, and was released in 2018.

He said that he had hoped his son’s jail term would change him for the better, but he became even more temperamental after his release and would often ask his parents for money and break things at home.

He added that it is too late for him to change his son’s behaviour, and hopes that the police will arrest his son and stop him from his wayward ways, adding that he intends to cut ties with his son because he had bought shame to him.

WOMAN ALLEGEDLY FINDS INSECT EGGS IN HER KIMCHI, COOK SAYS IT’S “CABBAGE ROOT”

0

A 23-year-old woman allegedly found what is suspected to be fly eggs inside her food while dining at a Japanese eatery in Yishun.

The woman was having a dinner with her boyfriend at the Japanese restaurant on 18 April when she found what appeared to be fly eggs inside her kimchi.

She told Shin Min Daily News that she was at the BBQ Tori Shokudo on the 2nd level of Northpoint City in Yishun having dinner, when she noticed the alleged fly eggs after finishing a piece of kimchi.

Her boyfriend then told the manager of the restaurant about it and the manager then brought the dish back into the kitchen to replace it with a new one.

However, the couple couldn’t eat the new dish because they were worried that it would still have the fly eggs inside, and they then paid for their food and left the premises.

The 36-year-old restaurant manager responded to the incident and said that when she brought the plate of kimchi back into the kitchen, the chef had allegedly told her that the “fly eggs” were part of the cabbage roots and that it was edible and commonly seen.

The manager said that when she emerged from the kitchen and went back to the couple’s table, they had already paid their bill and left.

She said that as a result, she didn’t have the chance to explain the situation to them.

Furthermore, she added, the kimchi was provided to the Japanese restaurant by the suppliers and the outlet was only responsible for cutting the food.

Other similar cases of creepy crawlies and food

Earlier this week, a woman in Singapore bought a packet of Cai Png from a coffee shop in Bedok and found what appeared to be a curled up dead caterpillar inside her food, nestled among the potatoes, vegetables and rice.

In another separate case, a group of diners at 18 Chefs had maggots raining down from the aircon vent above them and into their food and table.
