MY SUPERIOR SAY IF I WANT GET PROMOTED, I MUST ‘GO OVERSEAS’ WITH HER

0

When my boss told me she wanted me to go overseas with her, I was excited. She was the head of the department, and I thought she was giving me a great opportunity to prove myself and get a promotion.

She had been giving me special attention for some time, and I thought I was finally getting what I deserved.

Wanted to have S- with me

But ah knn…she had something else in mind. Before our trip, she started to act differently around me. She would constantly make suggestive comments and flirt with me, and I started to feel uncomfortable.

She even asked me to come to her house one night, which I declined.

I should have known then that something wasn’t right, but I was too excited about the trip and the potential promotion to think much of it. So, I went ahead and agreed to go with her.

When we arrived at our destination, I quickly realized that my boss had something else in mind. She kept trying to get me to spend time with her, even after hours.

She’d suggest going out to dinner or taking walks together, and it all started to feel like a date.

One night, after a few too many drinks, I finally realized what she was after. She was trying to get me to sleep with her in exchange for the promotion.

I was disgusted and horrified, but I didn’t want to ruin the opportunity, so I reluctantly agreed.

I spent the rest of the trip in a state of shock. I couldn’t believe what I had done and I was filled with shame. I was in a very difficult position and I knew I had to go along with her demands if I wanted to get the promotion.

In the end, I got the promotion, and I have to say that it was worth it. I’m now in a much better position financially and I’m able to provide for my family.

NEIGHBOUR DRILL AND DRILL CONTINUOUSLY FOR FEW MONTHS, MAKE ME CANNOT SLEEP PROPERLY

0

It’s been a few months now, and my neighbour’s renovation doesn’t seem to end.

Every day, they start drilling at 8am, and they don’t stop until like 8pm. It’s been like this for weeks now and I can’t stand it anymore.

Drill and drill non stop, like never ending

I have tried my best to cope with this situation, but it’s been tough. I haven’t been able to get a proper rest for weeks.

I keep waking up very early in the morning because of the noise and it’s starting to take a toll on my mental and physical health.

I feel exhausted all the time and I am having trouble concentrating on my work.

I have talked to my neighbour about the noise but they just don’t seem to care.

They keep telling me that they need to get the renovation done as soon as possible and that the noise is just a minor inconvenience. But for me, it’s more than a minor inconvenience.

It’s been weeks of torture and I can’t take it anymore.

At this point, I am feeling helpless and frustrated. I can’t do anything to make the situation better and I feel like my neighbour is taking advantage of me.

It’s like they know that I can’t do anything so they just keep drilling and making noise all day long.

It’s been weeks now and I still can’t sleep properly. I am starting to feel like I am going insane and I don’t know what to do.

I just wish this nightmare would end soon, but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen anytime soon.

I am starting to lose hope and I don’t know what to do.

BALI BANNING TOURISTS FROM RENTING MOTORBIKES CAUSE THEY KEEP BREAKING TRAFFIC LAWS

0

Bali is set to ban foreign tourists from renting and using their motorcycles because they keep breaking traffic laws, according to Kompas.

Bali Governor I Wayan Koster made the announcement on 12 March, while calling out tourists for disregarding their traffic laws and misbehaving in the city.

He said “If you are a tourist, behave as a tourist. As a tourist, use the vehicle provided by the travel agent. Don’t ride a motorcycle without a shirt, not wearing clothes, not wearing a helmet, and on top of that, without even a driver’s license”

According to Koster, the ban is set to be implemented sometime this year and tourists will be made to only use cars that are provided by their travel agents.

Koster added that the decision to ban foreigners from using their motorcycles now is because they are “tidying up” as it was impossible to implement the rules during the pandemic as there were no tourists.

Between February to March, there were more than 171 traffic violations in Bali by foreigners, including reckless driving, not wearing helmets and using fake license plates.

Bali’s provincial government will also step up the monitoring of foreigners at the Badung Regency, Denpasar and the Gianyar Regency to maintain order, as those three areas are places where tourists often reside in.

Koster also urged the local people to report foreign tourists who are violating the laws, insulting the Balinese culture and people or behaving in an inappropriate manner to the police.

History of tourists breaking traffic laws in Bali

While many visitors choose to explore the island’s treasures on foot or with a driver, a significant number of tourists opt to rent motorcycles. Unfortunately, many of these tourists break traffic laws, putting themselves and others in danger.

Some tourists may choose to rent motorcycles because they believe it is cheaper and more convenient than hiring a driver or taking a taxi.

One of the most common traffic violations committed by tourists on rented motorcycles in Bali is driving without a helmet. Helmets are mandatory for all motorcyclists in Bali,

Another common violation is driving under the influence of alcohol. While it is illegal to drive under the influence in Bali, some tourists ignore this law and put themselves and others at risk.

Tourists on rented motorcycles are also prone to reckless driving. They may speed, weave in and out of traffic, and make sudden turns without signalling. This behaviour is not only dangerous but also contributes to traffic congestion and frustration for local drivers.

Tourists on rented motorcycles may not have the necessary documentation to drive legally. Some tourists may not have an international driver’s license, which is required to rent and drive a motorcycle in Bali. Others may not have insurance or the necessary paperwork to operate a motor vehicle in a foreign country.

GF FOUND OUT THAT MAN FEED HER FRIEND BY SUBSCRIBING TO HER ONLYFANS CHANNEL

0

I want to ask all the ladies, can you accept if your bf/husband subscribes to Onlyfans? What if the account is by someone you know?

Will you prefer they tell you first or you don’t want to know?

Bf subscribed to my friend’s onlyFans

I swear I didn’t mean to spot check my bf but I accidentally found out that he subscribes to the onlyfans channel of our mutual friend.

I guess I’m not shocked that my bf uses onlyfans cos I know it’s normal for guys to watch p*rn but I can’t help but be bothered that the p*rn he is watching is of someone we know and got hang out with.

Before this I already know this friend does onlyfans cos she did share with us that she started it during covid to earn money after she lost her job.

She used to be an air stewardess but cos of covid, she couldn’t fly and had to find other jobs. She say since she always like to dress up in attractive outfits, might as well make some money off it then she also don’t have to go find another job.

So I’m not shocked that this friend does onlyfans but I thought she only told the girls about it. I don’t know how my bf found her channel.

I always thought that I’m quite an open-minded gf who doesn’t mind her bf looking at other girls but then I can’t help feeling jealous and upset after I discovered this.

I tried to convince myself that he’s just trying to be a good friend and supporting her business but the more I think about it, the more uncomfortable I feel.

Scared bf turned on by her friend

I only saw one of her videos and I already cannot stop thinking about it. My bf as a guy confirmed will feel even more turned on lah! The thought of my bf being turned on by my friend really makes me very uncomfortable.

I really really want to talk to my bf about it but I don’t know how to ask him. I don’t want to sound petty or worse, make him think that I’m invading his privacy but I really don’t know how to be okay about this.

I think he can also sense my unhappiness cos we keep fighting for no reason nowadays.

Any advice on what I should do?

BOSS ASK EMPLOYEE TO WORK WHEN EMPLOYEE ON MC – CAN OR CANNOT

0

A netizen recently uploaded a screenshot of a WhatsApp conversation with his or her boss online.

Context

Context of their conversation is that the employee was informing his or her boss that he or she is on MC, and could not make it to work for two days.

The boss then acknowledged it but a few hours later after midnight, texted the employee to check the admin phone as if the boss is still asking the employee to work.

Unhappy that he or she still needs to answer to work related queries, the netizen asked if it is allowed for bosses to ask employees to work even though the employee is on MC.

Here is what other netizens think

  • Any boss who texts me at 12AM is no boss of mine.
  • Leave that clown behind and do yourself a favour to find a new job.
  • Unpopular opinion here: If you’re the sole person holding onto the phone which is the only form of contact between the parents/students and the learning centre, it is your responsibility to either

    1. Handover the admin phone to a working staff or

    2. continue to be the point of contact and relay information to your boss even while on MC/leave.

Despite you being on MC, students and parents still need a way to communicate with the centre. However, if you’ve tried to handover your responsibilities but your boss rejects and asks you to handle it, then f- her 🙂
  • As a boss, one should also make sure that the sole responsibility of a certain is not on a single employee, no?

Would it be the employee’s fault if they become incapacitated from illness or an accident and there’s no one to take over?
  • But over here the employee made 0 suggestion that he/she cannot check the phone. If they told the boss they cannot check, then the boss might offer a different solution. Like maybe the boss will suggest grab express the phone to her or someone else?

The boss’ communication was clear right, she’s scared that someone will call the admin phone and no one answers. The employee said okay. If never even communicate with the boss, I will give the benefit of the doubt to the boss.

COLLEAGUE THINKS SHE IS SMARTER THAN EVERYONE BECAUSE SHE LAST TIME STUDY ‘SPECIAL’ STREAM

0

I was busy trying to organize my notes for the presentation when I heard a loud knock on the door. It was my colleague, Maria (not her real name).

Maria strutted in with a smug expression on her face, her eyes darting around the room as if she was searching for something.

Think she very smart because last time PSLE do well get into ‘Special’ stream

She had been transferred to our team recently and this was the first time I had seen her in the office. She immediately started talking about her past experiences and successes and how she aced her PSLE and studied in the ‘special’ stream last time.

My colleagues and I exchanged glances and I could tell that we were all feeling a bit uncomfortable. We all knew that Maria was trying to make us feel inferior to her, and it was starting to get on our nerves.

The meeting started shortly after and Maria continued to talk about her experiences, showcasing her intelligence and capability. She was clearly trying to prove that she was smarter and more capable than all of us.

However, none of us were impressed by her words and instead, we were starting to get annoyed. We all knew that Maria had a lot of potential and that she was intelligent, but her attitude was starting to grate on us.

Realised a lot of smart people high IQ but no EQ

After the meeting, I decided to talk to Maria about her attitude and try to explain how her behavior was making us feel.

But instead of listening to my words, she became defensive and aggressive. She yelled at me and told me that I was just jealous of her success and that I was trying to bring her down.

After this outburst, I gave up and decided to just keep my distance from Maria. I could tell that she wasn’t going to change her attitude anytime soon and I didn’t want to get into any more arguments.

In the end, Maria’s arrogance and superiority complex were too much for us to bear and she eventually became a source of tension in the office.

Everyone was trying to stay away from her and her presence made us all feel uncomfortable.

Unfortunately, no one was able to do anything about it and Maria continued to think of herself as smarter and more capable than the rest of us.

We all knew that she was talented, but her attitude was just too much for us to handle.

EDTECH CEO SAYS HE GIVES UP ON S’PORE, S’POREANS TOO OBSESSED WITH GRADES

0

John Tan, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Doyobi, a startup company that deals with education technology (EdTech), declared that he is “giving up on Singapore” and criticised the education system here, according to a post on his LinkedIn page as reported by MustShareNews.

Here is what he said

I am giving up on Singapore.

The education system in Singapore is too deeply entrenched. Parents cannot look beyond PSLE. I cannot change this.

Even my peers in tech who are highly educated and affluent are caught up in the high stakes exam rat race.

I have spent the last ten years trying to change parents’ mindset about how to prepare their kids for the future.

I’ve come to the realisation this is not possible.

Rather than wasting another 10 years on Singaporean parents who refuse to accept change, I’m bringing Doyobi to the rest of the world.

If you’re a parent or an educator who cares deeply about helping your kids become adaptable and resilient, please get in touch.

Netizens’ comments

  • John, a society is made and composed of diverse habits, cultures and outlooks towards life. I have witnessed some friends who do not consider academic orientation as seriously as others would, there are some for whom academic success translates to general life accomplishment, then there are others who unfortunately cannot even afford education, especially higher education, met those folks too.

To simplify things in what is a melting pot that is Singapore to a linear orientation profile is being that tad bit short sighted. Clearly your message hasn’t reached those beyond your sphere of influence?

Singapore is hardly perfect, this PSLE culture is a true phenomenon, so is academic streaming and infatuation on rankings and academic competition, these are real social developments that come with meritocratic establishments that are inclined towards academics.. but this is not all that Singapore is. There are folks who are in ITEs, who clearly do not have that academic inclination, there are those struggling to pay for tuition if nus and ntu train is missed. Quite a sizable body too… some would prefer to be in the arts… just drop by Lasalle.

So do not give up on us! It is a diverse space. Expand your horizons and contribute!

  • I would like to offer a different perspective that might not sit well – it is possible not to get caught up in the rolling ball that is PSLE. Will it mean you’re against the grain? Yes. Will it mean you face pressure to “conform” and do what everyone is doing? Yes. But is it worth it? Yes. While the system is pressurising, I found that being clear on what I wanted for my daughter and how I communicated to her (since young, not just in the lead up to the exam), gave her the confidence and foundation that it was not the sole determinant of her life. For eg, instead of cramming the night before, I made sure she got enough rest, exercise, eat well, plan ahead, space things out. Did it help her feel less pressure? Absolutely.

That said, could the system be better? Definitely – but it’s harder to move an elephant than an ant.

  • You are targeting the wrong people. Much of the planet is now highly academically competitive. It’s what they were taught and it’s what they have come to accept as the only route to wealth or financial stability. Governments have been very effective in creating an employee mindset, and thus creating an effective cheap workforce.

If you want to target these parents, you will need to establish a beaten track for them to follow using a different pilot group.

61 Y.O MAN FOUND DEAD WITH WOUNDS @ REDHILL HDB UNIT, FLATMATE ARRESTED FOR MURDER

0

A 61-year-old man was found dead and lying motionless inside his home at Redhill Close earlier this morning, with multiple wounds on his body.

His 59-year-old co-tenant of the unit has since been arrested by the police for suspected murder, according to Channel NewsAsia.

The Singapore Police Force said in a news release that they were alerted to a case of murder at a HDB unit at Redhill Close earlier today (17 March) at about 10.50am.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 61-year-old man lying down on the ground motionless with multiple wounds on his body.

He was subsequently pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

A 59-year-old man who was the flatmate of the victim and co-tenant of the unit was then arrested by the police at the scene for suspected murder.

According to The Straits Times, the 59-year-old is set to be charged in court tomorrow (18 March) with murder under Section 302(1) of the Penal Code 1871, and if convicted, faces the mandatory death penalty by hanging.

At the time of writing, police investigations into the suspected murder is still ongoing. Watch this space for updates.

Death penalty in Singapore for murder

In Singapore, the death penalty is imposed for a range of crimes, including drug trafficking, terrorism, and murder. Murder is one of the most serious offenses that can lead to a death sentence.

The country has a mandatory death penalty for murder, which means that anyone convicted of murder is automatically sentenced to death, unless they can prove that they acted under exceptional circumstances, such as self-defense.

In Singapore, the death penalty is carried out by hanging. The execution is carried out in secret, and the date and time are not made public.

The only people who are informed of the execution are the condemned person and their family members. The execution is carried out by a team of prison officials who are specially trained for this task.

Before the execution, the condemned person is given the opportunity to meet with their family members and a religious counselor.

They are also given the opportunity to make a final statement. The condemned person is then escorted to the gallows, where they are hanged until they are declared dead.

MAN FORCE HIS GF TO WEAR GLASSES FOR ‘PIAK’ BECAUSE HE LIKES BESPECTACLED WOMEN

0

When my boyfriend first told me he wanted me to wear glasses during ss I was taken aback. I never expected him to share something so intimate with me, let alone something so strange.

I’d heard of this type of ‘likings’ before but I’d never encountered someone close to me to be so specific.

Went to buy a pair and it spiced up our S- life

At first, I was unsure how to react. I wanted to be supportive of his desires but I wasn’t sure if this was something I was comfortable with. After talking it through, I decided to give it a try.

We went out and bought a pair of glasses that I felt comfortable in and I was ready to give it a go. I was a little nervous but he was very understanding and reassured me that I didn’t have to do anything I didn’t want to.

That first night, I was pleasantly surprised. I found myself enjoying the experience more than I expected. The glasses added a certain level of intimacy that I wasn’t used to.

My boyfriend seemed to love it too, as he kept complimenting me on how I looked in the glasses.

Since then, I’ve come to embrace my glasses-wearing s- life. I’m no longer hesitant or uncomfortable with the idea. I’ve come to appreciate the unique experience of wearing glasses during sex.

My boyfriend and I have become creative with our glasses-wearing sex life. We’ve experimented with different types of glasses, from vintage cat-eye frames to modern, colorful frames.

We’ve even tried wearing matching glasses for a fun, playful look.

I’m happy to report that wearing glasses during s- has become a normal part of our relationship. We both enjoy it and have had some amazing experiences as a result.

It’s no longer something to feel embarrassed or ashamed of; it’s something to be celebrated.

WOMAN LINKED TO THE INFAMOUS TANJONG PAGAR CAR CRASH THAT KILLED 5, CHARGED

0

A 26-year-old Malaysian woman, Phoo Yi Lin, who is linked to the now-infamous fiery car crash at Tanjong Pagar on 13 February 2021 that killed 5 men and seriously injured one person, was charged earlier this month for dangerous driving.

She had allegedly taken the wheel and driven the white BMW M4 before alighting from the car, and the deceased Jonathan Long then took over the wheel before crashing and dying.

Court documents stated that Phoo had allegedly driven the car along Tanjong Pagar Road at a speed of about 109km/h, with the speed limit being 50km/h.

Phoo had applied to leave Singapore on Thursday (16 March) but her request was rejected by the court, and she is expected to plead guilty on 3 April.

The driver, Jonathan Long Junwei, 29; and his four passengers, Eugene Yap Zheng Min, 29; Elvin Tan Yong Hao, 28; Teo Qi Xiang, 26; and Gary Wong Hong Chieh, 29, all died from severe burns in the accident, while Long’s girlfriend Raybe Oh suffered serious burns while trying to save him from the burning wreckage.

Recap

The 5 men were at a house gathering in Ang Mo Kio for Chinese New Year celebrations.

They had drunk alcohol before deciding to have supper at Tanjong Pagar because they commonly hang out there.

All the eateries in the area were closed, so they then decided to go to Hong Jjajang restaurant, with was owned by Park Se Jin, who had the key to the restaurant.

Park opened the restaurant and the group then went in and continued to drink alcohol. Present at the restaurant were three other women, including Raybe Oh and Phoo Yi Lin.

Phoo was the one who took a video of the accident that was later admitted into evidence, while Oh was seen in viral videos running into the fire to help the people in the burning car.

The group then decided to leave at about 4am as Long wanted to show his new car to his friends, and the group was “excited” about it.

Insisted on seeing who could drive faster

They then followed Long and got into his car, and the car was then driven on three rounds, with the group taking turns to drive it each time.

The car finished the first three rounds with no incidents, with Yap driving on the first round, Park on the 2nd round and Phoo on the 3rd round.

Long, who was outside watching the first three rounds, was reportedly very persuasive and “insisted” on competing to see who was faster.

Long then took the wheel on the fourth round, before the ultimately crashed and killed them all.

As reported yesterday, Long was found with 86mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80mg, indicating that he was drink driving.

He was also going at 148km/hr at an area with a speed limit of 50km/hr.
