M’SIA NOT RE-INTRODUCING GST DUE TO THE PEOPLE’S LOW INCOME, CURRENT TAXES ARE “ENOUGH”

0

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim previously said in an announcement last month that the Malaysian government will not be re-introducing the Goods and Services Tax (GST), according to Channel NewsAsia.

He reiterated the point once more in a recent parliament sitting, explaining that Malaysia is not ready for GST because of the people’s low income.

He said that the current Capital Gains Tax and Luxury Goods Tax are suitable alternatives instead.

No GST for the next 6 months

Speaking in Parliament on 14 March, Anwar said that the Malaysian government will not be bringing back GST, responding to a question by Tanjong Karang Member of Parliament (MP) Dr Zulkafperi Hanapi.

Hanapi had asked about the reintroduction of GST after the upcoming 6-state elections, to which Anwar said that the people’s income levels must increase first before they can bring it back.

Anwar said that the level of income of the people is still low, and he doesn’t think that in the next 6 months or a year, they will consider it.

He added that there are more than 130,000 Malaysian citizens in the bottom 40 per cent income group and living in hardcore poverty, citing it as one of the reasons why Malaysia is not ready for GST.

Anwar used Singapore, Canada and New Zealand as examples and compared Malaysia to these countries, saying that they have a long way to go before they can meet the minimum income levels for their people.

He said that the Capital Gains Tax and Luxury Goods Tax are more than enough for Malaysia to get extra income, and that those two taxes will also help the country get rid of tax evasion.

Anwar was also quoted by The Star as saying that “It’s the rich towkays that often evade tax… There should not be any compromise on this in ensuring that the rich pay their taxes”.

The company currently has about 3,100 employees on an average monthly salary of NT$60,000 (SGD $2644.72). Which means that for those ezrning NT$60,000 per month, they would be receiving around NT$3.66 million (SGD$160,600) in total, if they get the bonus pay of 61 months.

In the first two months of this year, the company’s consolidated revenue stood at NT44.922 billion, which is a decline of about 59.94 percent from the previous year because of the Lunar New Year holiday and the impact of the pandemic on production lines.

Cargo volumes were decreased and freight rates were on a downward spiral, according to the president of the company Hsieh Huey-chuan.

Hsieh said that looking to the future market prospects, the market could suffer in the off-season first quarter of this year. However, the market is expected to improve in the second quarter of the year.

GIRL ANGRY BECAUSE BF BROKE HER ‘TOY’, SAYS HIS ‘SIZE’ CANNOT MATCH WITH IT

0

I was so angry with my boyfriend. We had been together for a few months now, and I had grown to love him very much. But recently, he had done something that really made me mad.

It all started when I was out of town for a few days, and he was supposed to be taking care of my house. When I came back, I noticed that something was off.

He broke my ‘toy’ when he noticed it and was playing around with it

I went into my bedroom and saw that my ‘toy’ was broken into pieces. I was so angry, and I knew it had to be him.

I confronted him about it, and he admitted that he was the one who had broken it. He said he saw it lying there and was just curious about it and was playing around with it and he accidentally hit it on the table and it broke into pieces.

He apologised and said that he didn’t mean to break it, but I was still so mad. I couldn’t believe that he would take it out and play around with it.

I told him that he had no right to break something that was mine and that he should have respected my privacy.

I told him that his skills could never compare with me using the ‘toy’

He told me that it was alright because he has something better to offer rather than me using the ‘toy’. He said that his ‘kkj’ was still available for my usage.

I was really mad, and I said that his ‘kkj’ size could never compare to the size of the dildo and that he does not know how to make me happy.

He was obviously embarrassed by me comparing his ‘kkj’ and my ‘toy’ and I could see that it really hurt his ego but I didn’t care too much at that time.

MAN SQUEEZES ON MRT EVERY DAY, CANNOT TAHAN PEOPLE TALK SO LOUD SALIVA FLY EVERYWHERE

0

I take the MRT train to work and back every single day during peak hours. It’s always so crowded and I find myself almost stuck in between people which can be quite uncomfortable.

I understand why it’s so crowded and why everyone is trying to make room for one another, but it’s still quite annoying having to squeeze my way in and out of the train.

Some people still talk so loud then saliva fly everywhere

But that’s not the worst part. The worst part is that some people still feel the need to talk on their phones while they’re on the train. It’s already so crowded and noisy and they’re adding to it.

Not only that, but their saliva flies everywhere when they talk! I can’t stand it – I don’t want to be in the same train car with someone who is talking loudly and spraying saliva everywhere.

We really do not care about how the xiao di di at your work place is so cute or how expensive the ring your son bought for your daughter in law is.

It’s gross and disrespectful to the other passengers who are trying to make their way to their destination.

People also don’t want to move in to the middle carriage

I’ve noticed that some people also like to hang out in the middle of the train car and take up more room than necessary.

It’s understandable that they want to find a spot to stand, but I feel like they should be more mindful of their surroundings and not block the way for everyone else.

It’s already hard enough to get through the train car during peak hours and they’re making it even harder.

I understand that taking the MRT train during peak hours is necessary for some people, but I wish that the people who do take it would be more mindful of their actions.

I know that it’s not always pleasant to ride the train, but it would be a lot better if everyone was more respectful of each other and their surroundings.

If people stopped talking on their phones, stopped standing in the middle of the car, and stopped spitting saliva everywhere, the MRT train would be a lot more pleasant for everyone.

EBIKE AH BENG UPSET AT BEING HONKED BY DRIVER, STOP IN MIDDLE OF ROAD & WANT TO FIGHT

0

A video emerged online showing an e-bike rider confronting a driver and trying to pick a fight with him after being honked along Old Airport Road.

The incident purportedly happened on Wednesday (15 March) at about 5.30am, and was captured on the dashcam of the driver’s car.

The driver had allegedly honked at the ebike rider, who was riding on the road without a helmet and suddenly filtered into the middle lane.

The upset rider then stopped his bike in the middle of the road and confronted the driver.

What happened?

According to the dashcam footage, the driver was driving along the road when the helmetless ebike rider suddenly emerged from the right side, filtering into the lane that the driver was in, before turning into the pavement after presumably being honked at.

In the next cut of the video, the rider was seen riding right in front of the car while looking back at the driver, nodding his head as he muttered something under his breath.

At the traffic light, he stopped and alighted from his bike, picking up his phone and turning around, shouting at the driver in Mandarin “WHAT YOU WANT?!” as he raised his arms into the air and confronted the driver.

The rider then went to the driver’s window and had an unintelligible argument with the driver, shouting at him before walking back to his ebike and riding off.
