MAN BOUGHT 2ND-HAND ITEM THAT WORKS FINE, 1 WEEK LATER SPOIL THEN WANT REPORT POLICE

0

carousell buyer threatening to make a police report

so i sold an item on carousell to a buyer and in my description i wrote that i haven’t had the old issue of the sensor picking up.

So i reckon it was working fine as i tested it prior and it didnt show any signs of the old issue popping up , so in my eyes it was working fine.

we meet up and i allowed him to test it out and there wasn’t any issue so we agreed to the deal and i handover my item.

more than a week goes by and he sold it to another buyer and the other buyer told him that it is not working anymore and that it was faulty and had a defect the whole time.

buyer msg me saying he’ll make a police report along with screenshots that i said it was working fine.

in my post of the item i’ve already written a disclaimer no refunds and that reading it means that you understand the issues stated and risk of issue that might occur after purchase.

what should i do, as this is my first time encountering this. thank you

TLDR sold an item to buyer buyer tested it out and it was working fine afterwards buyer sold it to another buyer other buyer says it’s not working and that it was faulty from the start first buyer then msg and says he’ll make a police report and how i failed to inform him of the defects

Netizens comments

  1. tested the item on the spot before accepting, no issue.
between then and selling it on, suddenly have issue.
sounds like his problem, not yours.
  2. Trying to scare you to give in only. If the buyer say he use the thing and find out there’s an issue, maybe he still can do something.
But now he SELL TO ANOTHER GUY after taking ahold of your item, and the issue comes after the item was handed over to the next guy, you can just say he was the one who made it faulty. Checkmate. He made it easy for you
  3. No, do not feel threatened OP. More than a week had gone by and anything could have happened during that 1 week when the item was in that 1st buyer’s possession. Both of you tested it out and it was working perfectly normal. So it’s no longer your responsibility when the 1st buyer went ahead to purchase it.

BOSS EXPECTS STAFF TO JOIN NETWORKING EVENTS, MAKE THEM WORK 8AM TO 10PM

What to do with bosses who expect you to join activities post work hours

Sibei sian. My boss plan for team offsite starting from 8am to 10pm. Don’t allow claims for transport because boss says dinner and networking not mandatory activities.

The same boss just niaoed me for not networking when I was nursing an infection and very unwell and still doing my tasks on a recent work trip.

Whole week 8am to 10pm plus 1 hr commute each way. My old bones can’t take it.

Same boss likes to ping me at night or call me at night to KP me for not representing boss well…

I can’t quit. Need to pay mortgage.

  1. This kind of work culture is dumb as f. Employers need to realise that every minute of your employees’ time needs to be compensated. None of that after-work drinks and dinner crap. Why follow the shitty work culture of the Japanese?
Man unless your bosses are paying you extremely well or you don’t have dependents or you love your current job, maybe find somewhere else to work. This kind of shit is a red flag.
  2. Just say in an apologetic way that you have family commitments. You have already worked with them since 8am, how much more do they want to see your face lol. Your boss must be lonely, no friends no life, that’s why forcing your team to spend time with him/her.
  3. Drop obvious hints like not picking up phones after work. Next day blame it on your kids who are sick. Worked for me; my boss relented and say he will only call me when it is urgent, and when he called, he begged me to answer the phone. Apparently when I diao him that one time, he was in some deep shit and needed me. Learnt his lesson well.

EX WIFE TRIED TO PATCH WITH ME AFTER KNOWING THAT I HAVE SUCCESSFUL INVESTMENTS

0

I had always been a risk taker. Ever since I was young, I had a knack for taking risks and coming out on top.

I was never one to shy away from a challenge, and so when I heard about the stock market, I knew I had to give it a try.

Started to be successful in my investments

It was with this adventurous spirit that I set out to invest in the stock market. I started small, investing only small amounts at a time.

But, as luck would have it, I started to see some success. I quickly started to build a portfolio of investments and my profits started to grow.

Things were looking up, and I was feeling on top of the world. That is, until my ex-wife showed up.

Wanted to come back to me after she heard I was successful

She had heard about my success and wanted to try to patch things up between us.

She told me that she was sorry for how our relationship soured, and she wanted to make things right for us.

I was hesitant at first. After all, I had been hurt by her before. But, in the end, I decided to take the risk.

At first, things seemed to be going well. We started to talk more, and I could feel a connection between us starting to form. But then, things started to turn sour.

She began to be more demanding and I could feel the trust between us slipping away.

As time went on, I started to realize that I had made a huge mistake. I should have never trusted her, and I should have never spent on her or gave her what she wanted.

I had been too eager to try to patch things up, and in the end, I had only made things worse.

She still left me after all, and I was left with half of my profits gone.

GIRL ACCEPTED JOB OFFER & WAS ABOUT TO START WORK, THEN COMPANY TAKES BACK JOB OFFER

Company rescind job offer

Hi all, was just informed that the company that I applied for rescinded their offer after I signed the contract.

I was offered a job position after applying through an agency by them. As such, I verbally asked over the phone with the agent that once I accept this offer, I would turn down any other job offers and interviews that I currently have, which subsequently I did.

Moving forward, the agent called me and that the company “changed business directions.” The issue is that I’ve already turned down offers and interviews for this company because I assumed that signing the contract would mean that I already secured a position.

Is there anything I can do? or do I just basically suck it up and go back to square 1 to look for new jobs. I don’t think I can go back to the other companies looking for the other jobs.

The starting date of the job was in less than 3 weeks.

Does anyone have any advice? Thank you!

Netizens’ comments

  1. I think you just have to start the job search again.
This is why I always tell people to take care of themselves first. Accept offer already just continue your ongoing interviews and accept multiple offers if you get them.
Companies treat us as disposable bodies, we should not hesitate to accept an offer then rescind too.
  2. just have to start all over again..
when the companies makes an offer for you, don’t be afraid to tell the companies that you need a couple more days to consider as you’re waiting for another offer and then reject them later after you’ve compared the offers and signed on the contract.
most people are afraid that doing so will ‘offend’ the HR and they will blacklist you or something when you reapply subsequently but if you’re worth your salt, they will reach out to you around 1 year later to ask if you wanna explore any opportunities with them.

MAN SAY HE’S GOOD LOOKING BUT CAN’T GET GF BECAUSE GIRLS THESE DAYS STANDARDS TOO HIGH

0

Apparently I don’t attract women, I’m a 30yo with an extremely small girlfriend list and currently single (since 2020).

I’m far from being the most handsome guy on earth, but I’m not ugly and in fact I do think that I’m relatively good looking.

Always tried my best to be polite and respectful to everyone. I’m not rich, but I have a good job and can provide for myself just fine.

I also consider myself quite versatile as I have interest in pretty much every area of knowledge. I can talk about pretty much anything from culture, economy, science…

I workout five days a week to keep healthy, maintain good hygiene and even started a skin care routine to improve my facial features.

And still, I can’t get a girlfriend.

I know I don’t need a girlfriend to be happy, and I do consider myself happy already. But a girlfriend to hangout together and have fun together in bed would be quite good.

They don’t need a man to be happy either, but keep complaining about the lack of good men. And then there are men like me single.

Again, not claiming to be the Giga Chad of Legend, but I don’t think anyone would classify me as a shit man either.

It just seems to me women these days have such high standards that normal guys like me have no chance with most of them.

Netizens’ comments

  1. Trust me man I get it. Best advice i can give you is to keep taking yourself like you are already doing. Work hard like you are already doing. And try to socialize. Go to a bar and have a soda. And baby sit it. Look for conversation and just get yourself out there.
  2. You’re doing everything right in terms of self-care, but make sure you’re also putting that same amount of effort into actually going out and socializing with women. You could be the biggest chad of all time but if you’re not consistently spending your time around women as much as possible, you won’t get as many opportunities as someone who is.
  3. Could be bad luck. Could be you’re not really being objective about yourself. Maybe you check the boxes but lack overall charisma. Who knows. If you’re truly happy, them keep working on improving yourself and a mate will come.

MAN RECEIVED CALLS FROM EX COMPANY ABOUT WORK BECAUSE BOSS FIRED HIM FOR ‘CHEAPER’ GOONDU

0

I got asked to leave my company because my boss thought that I was too expensive to remain on the employees list.

Company hired someone with a lower paycheck to replace me

He gave me reasons like the company was not doing well and could not afford to keep me and if I chose stay I had to accept a paycut.

Of course I refused it and left the company and heard that my boss hired someone with a cheaper salary to replace me.

After I left, I still got calls from them on how to do certain tasks

Little did I know, my old company would still be calling me months later asking for help.

It turns out that my boss had hired someone to replace me, but they were incapable of doing the job.

I guess he hired them because they were cheaper than me, but it was clear he had chosen the wrong person for the job.

It was really strange to get these calls from my old company.

It made me feel a little guilty, like I should be helping them out. I mean, I had spent years doing that job and it was almost like an instinct for me.

But at the same time, I was also angry. I didn’t want to help out my old boss when he was the one who had replaced me with an incompetent person.

When I did answer the calls, I gave the person on the other end the help they needed.

It wasn’t that I was being nice or anything like that; I just knew that if I didn’t help them, they would just keep calling me until I did.

It was a strange situation, and one that I was never quite comfortable with.

It was a frustrating situation, to say the least. Here I was, trying to move on and find something new and exciting, and my old boss was still relying on me to help them out.

It made me feel like I was being taken advantage of. I knew that if I was still working there, I wouldn’t be getting these calls.

It’s been a few months since those calls stopped, but I still think about them from time to time.

It’s a reminder that the world of work can be a cruel place, and that not everyone deserves the same level of respect.

While I’m glad I’m no longer in that situation, I can’t help but feel a little bit of resentment towards my old boss.

MAN GOT HIRED TO BE SALES VP @ $16K/MTH BECAUSE HE WAS CEO’S BENEFACTOR

0

It was a surreal moment for me to get hired as the Sales Vice President at a salary of $16,000 a month. I had worked hard for years and I was deeply appreciative of the opportunity to jump company and receive a huge pay raise.

All because I helped out the CEO twenty years ago when he was in trouble

Little did I know that the reason I got the job was because of a favor I did for the CEO of the company twenty years ago.

I had been friends with the CEO for many years, but I had no idea that the favor I did for him twenty years ago would be remembered and appreciated so much.

It all started when the CEO got into some financial trouble. He was a family man and he was struggling to make ends meet.

He had already tried all the conventional methods to get out of his financial situation, but nothing seemed to work. That was when he asked me for help.

I was in a position to help him financially and I did not hesitate to do so. I lent him a significant sum of money to help him out of his financial situation.

I knew that it was a risk, but I had faith that he would be able to repay me in the future. I had no expectations of any reward or recognition, it was just a favour to help out my friend.

Little did I know that he would remember this favour and pay me back in an unexpected way.

Twenty years later, when he was the CEO of a successful company, he remembered my favour and decided to reward me for it. He hired me as the Sales Vice President of his company and offered me a salary of $16,000 a month.

It was an offer I could not refuse and I was deeply grateful to him for this opportunity. I knew that he had remembered my favour and decided to reward me for it.

Did not expect anything in return, but am glad that my kindness was somehow repaid

It was a humbling experience to know that he had appreciated my gesture so much and it made me even more determined to do my best in my new role.

The experience taught me an invaluable lesson in life. It taught me the power of kindness and the importance of helping your friends in their time of need.

It also taught me that it is possible to be rewarded for something you have done in the past, even after a long time and even though I didn’t expect anything in return by helping him previously, I was glad that my kindness back then got me some good karma.

AUNTIE GO DO IPL FOR THE FIRST TIME, HAPPY BECAUSE HER DOWN THERE VERY SMOOTH

0

I am a fifty-year-old woman and I recently decided to try out IPL, or Intense Pulsed Light Therapy, for the first time. I had heard about this revolutionary new treatment for a few years now and decided to finally take the plunge.

I was a bit nervous about the whole thing, but after doing my research and reading so many positive reviews, I decided to go for it.

Received a very professional experience

I arrived at the clinic and the technician was very friendly and knowledgeable. She explained the procedure to me in detail and I signed the consent form.

She then asked me to undress from the waist down and cover myself with a sheet. She then took a scan of my area down there and showed me the results on the monitor.

The technician told me that the IPL procedure would be used to target the deeper layers of my skin, which would cause the existing hair follicles to stop growing.

When the technician was ready, she asked me to close my eyes and prepare myself for the treatment. She then ran the device over my area down there.

I could feel some warmth and I heard some loud clicking noises. I was a bit scared at first, but I knew it was all part of the procedure. After a few minutes, the treatment was over.

Pleased with after results, smooth like baby

The technician then asked me to take a look at the area. When I opened my eyes, I was in shock! My area down there looked so smooth and soft, like a baby’s skin.

The technician explained that the IPL had eliminated all the hair follicles and that the area would remain hairless for a few weeks.

I was so happy with the results! I had never imagined that my area down there could look so smooth and soft. The technician told me to keep the area moisturized and to avoid any activities that could cause irritation for the next few weeks.

She also advised me to wear loose-fitting clothing and to stay away from perfumes and other products that could irritate the area.

I am so glad that I decided to try IPL. The treatment was painless and the results were amazing. I would definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get rid of unwanted hair.

It was an amazing experience and I am so happy with the results.

MAN DOES FOOD DELIVERY PT TO SUPPLEMENT INCOME, RIDE ON FOOTPATH EARNINGS ALL GONE

0

I had been working hard and slogging my guts out, but I still wasn’t quite able to make enough to support my family. I was really in a bind and I needed to find a way to make some extra money.

That’s when I thought of doing food delivery to supplement my income. I had seen other people doing it and it seemed like a great way to make some extra cash. I decided to give it a try, so I signed up for all the food delivery services.

Managed to earn a little to cover my bills

The first few weeks went really well. I aimed to make an extra $30-$50 a day to cover expenses and I was able to make enough money to cover my bills and I even managed to put a little aside for savings. But then one night, things went wrong.

I was riding my bike on the footpath and I was in a hurry to get to my next delivery. I wasn’t paying attention and I didn’t see my surroundings. Before I knew it, an enforcement officer had stopped me and given me a fine.

The fine cost me almost a week or two of my hard work

My earnings were all gone in an instant. I was devastated. I had worked so hard and all my money was gone just like that. I was so angry and frustrated. I had put in so much effort and all of it was for nothing.

I felt like I had been cheated. I had worked so hard and followed all the rules and because of a moment of folly, I committed a mistake which cost me whatever I had earned.

I was so discouraged that I considered quitting my food delivery job. I just didn’t have the heart to keep going, knowing that one mistake could cost me all my hard-earned money.

I was really disappointed in myself. I had worked so hard and I had been so close to making a success of my side job. I had thought I had found a great way to supplement my income, but it all came to nothing.

It was a hard lesson to learn, but I learned it well. I still do occasional food delivery jobs, but I’m much more careful now.

I make sure to always follow the rules and I don’t take any chances.
