WOMAN’S CREEPY CO-WORKER HAS A CRUSH ON HER, WATCHES & OBSERVES HER ALL THE TIME

0

A man at work has some sort of crush on me and it makes me so uncomfortable. i feel like im constantly being observed

i am a young woman (under 25). ive been working at an unnamed company for about 6 months. a few weeks in, once i started getting used to peoples’ names and faces who aren’t in my department, i started to notice that one guy in particular would always show up to the break room 10-15 seconds after me and try to strike up a conversation. he’s a nice guy, a little shy and a little awkward, but overall he seems sweet. Our jobs have nothing to do with each other and there is no reason why we should have to talk about anything work related. to be honest, i didnt even know his name until about four months in.

for a while, i would chat with him for a minute or so while making coffee, but it has always just been pretty awkward but friendly small talk. My desk is at the very back of an open plan office that seats about 80 or so people. there is no exit near me, so he never has any reason to come by my desk, but i have to walk past his department in order to get to the break room, restroom and exit. at least 85% of the time i go to get some water or go get coffee he shows up and tries to talk to me. whenever i work from home on office days (hybrid workplace), he’ll make a comment about how i wasn’t in the office (my desk is not at all visible from his. you would have to go out of your way to see whether im at my desk or not.). one time i literally jumped and screamed (startled) on the way to work bc i looked up from my phone and he was standing less than a foot away from me, ready to walk to the office together.

its gotten to the point where i feel like he’s watching me all the time when im in the office. sometimes i think im crazy and just being vain and presumptuous, but i can literally see his head turn to watch me walk by every time i walk past his desk. i cant really say anything about either because he only ever says “hey, hows it going, how was your weekend, looks like they got new coffee pods”, etc. For all intents and purposes, we’ve only had completely normal (albeit really awkward and increasingly non-reciprocated) conversations. ive started speed running my water breaks in the hopes that i manage to leave the break room before he gets there (i rarely do). i was trying to be friendly and professional at first but now i just want this man to leave me alone. im considering keeping a ledger of every time he’s followed me to the break room just so i can have some objective measure of frequency in case this ever becomes more of a serious issue. ive become increasingly colder with him and ive even started wearing big headphones around the office so i can pretend not to hear him when he comes up to me. i have given him no reason to believe that im interested. i have never given him any encouragement and yet he keeps following me around the office.

again, hes never actually said anything creepy or done anything i could actually confront him or complain about. its just enough to make me constantly uncomfortable while still being subtle enough to make me feel like im crazy and overreacting. i just had to complain about this. i understand that he’s probably well intentioned and just wants to get to know me. but for the love of god, if anyone reading this has a crush on someone in their office, do NOT do this.

MAN SAY HE HATE’S VALENTINES, RESTAURANT JACK UP PRICES

0

I hate Valentine’s Day. I know it’s a big holiday for some people and that’s great for them – but for me, it’s just another day.

I usually try to avoid it altogether, but this year, I decided to make dinner reservations at a nice restaurant for my girlfriend.

Unfortunately, I quickly realized that the restaurant had jacked up their prices for the holiday.

We were looking at paying almost double for the same food we’d get any other day. I was so angry. It felt like the restaurant was trying to take advantage of people’s romantic feelings and wallets.

I decided not to go to the restaurant. I told my girlfriend that I didn’t want to pay double for the same meal and that I wanted to avoid the holiday altogether. She was a bit disappointed but she understood. We ended up ordering a pizza and staying in instead.

I know that some restaurants offer special Valentine’s Day menus and that’s great. But it’s different when they just jack up their prices and don’t offer anything extra. It’s not like the food is better quality or that they’re providing any extra services. It’s just a way to make more money off of people who are feeling romantic.

I understand why restaurants do this. It’s a great way to increase their profits and make some extra money. But it doesn’t feel good to be taken advantage of. It’s especially frustrating when you know that other people are paying the same price for the same meal – just because it’s Valentine’s Day.

I’m not alone in feeling this way. I’ve talked to a lot of other people who feel the same way. We all feel like restaurants should be more respectful of customers, regardless of what day it is. We think it’s wrong to take advantage of people who are feeling sentimental and romantic.

At the end of the day, I’m glad I didn’t end up going to the restaurant. I’m sure it would have been nice, but I would have felt taken advantage of. I’m glad I stuck to my guns and chose to avoid the holiday altogether. It’s the only way I can be sure I’m not getting taken advantage of.

GIRL’S F-BUDDY SECRETLY KEPT HER UNDERWEAR THEN PRETENDS HE CAN’T FIND IT

0

My partner took my underwear and I don’t know what to do

So I (19F) have been sleeping with a guy (19f) and the last time I let him know after that I couldn’t find my underwear.

We looked but since we were just at my house, I let him leave and I kept looking. I couldn’t find them anywhere, so I kind of gave up and decided the method would just be to keep an eye out.

Me and this guy have some mutual friends, and yesterday I let them know that I couldn’t find my underwear and one responded with “oh yeah he found them”

Now I don’t know what to do. It’s not like he’s my boyfriend so it’s really weird to me that he’s just keeping my underwear, and weirder that he didn’t tell me that he had found them.

I kind of want them back but I don’t wanna come off as rude because despite the fact that I think its strange, I would definitely sleep with him again.

Do I just let this guy keep my underwear?

Netizens’ comments

  • The dude lied. Time to find another fish in the sea that doesn’t steal your underwear and lie about it.
  • It’s not the fact he took them, if that doesn’t bother you then whatever…it’s the fact he lied and continued to lie about it that is throwing up a red flag.
  • Call him out on it for sure and get them back. Let him know how you feel. Keep sleeping with him if you want to. Maybe gift him a pair at some point if you’d like. I’m sure he’d appreciate it
  • it’s…weird that your mutual friends know about it

WOMAN EARNS $4.2K/MTH, ASKS HOW COME OTHER PEOPLE CAN EARN $6K-$8K/MTH

0

How does one make >6k salary in Singapore?

Some context, when talking to friends and online people alike, it seems that its very common for a lot of people to be earning 6-8k SGD a month, and it seems like anything lower than 4k is seen as abnormal and low? Is this really the case?

Currently, Im working in sales (more like account management, contracted sales, not out hunting commission based) and after working for 5 years (total) I’m making 4.2k as an assistant sales manager.

Now I’ve just finished my bachelors in business and I was wondering what would a viable career move would be, to move into that income range? What kind of jobs would be relevant for me with a business degree? Is 4.2k considered low for a 29 year old?

Also, would an MBA be worth it to get? I have very little commitments in the way of family and kids etc, and have the financial means to get one.

Would love some career advice from laojiaos and peers alike.

Cheers!

Netizens’ comments

  1. This question is very industry and job specific. Hard to compare sia.
  2. here all software engineers working in tech firms and banks, so they say 4k is low.
  3. Firstly, understand there’s inherently bias in your data. Those who earn less might not share their salary as willingly.
But yeah like what others have said, you gotta job hop. Some friends also changed industries and did a career switch which boosted their salary. Gotta get out of your comfort zone sometimes.
  4. Move into enterprise sales. If you have 5+ years experience selling software to large companies you’ll be in $14k base plus commission (which should be the same as your base if you hit targets).
$4.2k is perfectly fine as a 29 years old. You gotta understand that most people will only hit their peak earning capacity in their 40s, so you have a long way to grow your salary.

MAN SAYS HE LIKE IT WHEN AN AH LIAN HAS A TATTOO, TURNS HIM ON

0

My first thought when I see a ah lian with tattoos is, “Wow, she’s really different from all the other girls out there.” I know that tattoos can be a divisive topic, with some people thinking that they’re trashy and others thinking that they’re cool, but for me, I like it when a girl has tattoos. I think it’s sexy, and it turns me on.

I think that tattoos can say a lot about a person. First, they’re a way to show off your personality and your interests. If you have a tattoo of your favourite band, it shows people that you’re passionate about music. If you have a tattoo of a specific symbol, it could mean that you have a deep connection to a certain culture or tradition. I think that all of these things can be attractive to someone like me, because I’m always looking for a girl who is interesting and unique.

Tattoos can also show that a girl is comfortable with her body, which is something else that I find attractive. It takes a lot of confidence to get a tattoo, and when I see a girl who has tattoos, it shows me that she’s not afraid to express herself. She’s not afraid to show the world who she is, and I think that’s incredibly sexy.

Of course, I understand that not everyone is comfortable with tattoos. Some people might think that tattoos are trashy or inappropriate, and I respect that opinion. But for me, I think that tattoos can be beautiful and meaningful. I think that they can be a great way to express yourself, and they can make you look even more attractive.

Finally, I think that tattoos can be a great way to start a conversation. When I see a girl with tattoos, it’s like a blank canvas. I can immediately start asking her questions about her tattoos and what they mean to her. It can be a great way to get to know someone and to find out more about them.

All in all, I think that tattoos can be incredibly attractive on a girl. I think that they can show confidence, personality, and a unique style, and they can make a girl even more attractive. So if you’re thinking about getting a tattoo, I say go for it. It might just turn me on.

TATTOO AH LIAN’S ARE THE BEST! (as long they don’t come with baggage typical pub single moms can liao)

GUY MAKES A SCENE BECAUSE HIS DATE’S FOOD CAME LATE, GIRL TURNED OFF & LEFT

0

walked out of a date lol, nothing more unattractive than a guy or gal who treats staff like shit…seriously??

im in a restaurant with a guy and we’re hitting it off, his food comes and mines not there yet but thats typical in sushi places since some stuff is faster to make than others.

he somehow gets offended that his food came out before mine and he was making a big scene (maybe to get points with me or something?? idk but it was embarrassing and i wish he wouldnt)

i told him to cool it and it wasnt a big deal after the waitress left and that id like to just continue talking since i didnt want the day to be ruined over him acting like a child lol

he said he would but the waitress was acting like “a real b-” and he wasnt sorry he “defended my honour” ???????

naaaah. i left. she was doing her job, he was an ass.

Netizens’ comments

  • “M’Lady, your honor mustn’t be desecrated by these lowly servant scum!”
  • His mentality is so outdated. Defending honor sounds stupid as shit. Glad you didn’t invest any more your time with people like that.
  • Even in “normal” restaurants, some food takes longer than others to come out of the kitchen and be brought to the table. That’s how food works.
  • Was it his time of the month? Steroids? I’d hate to see what happens if they get his order wrong or something.
  • How someone treats wait staff is how they will eventually treat you once they get comfortable with you. If a man can be polite even when he’s frustrated or offended, that demonstrates emotional maturity and that he will be respectful of you no matter what. You made the right decision.

GIRL WORKS TIME JOB AS A CHICKEN, KENA HER UNCLE WHEN MEET AT HOTEL

0

I never thought I’d be working as a prostitute, but life had a funny way of throwing curveballs my way.

As a single mother of two, I had to make ends meet and provide for my family. I was struggling financially and had no other options available. That’s when I decided to take the plunge and become a prostitute.

It was a hard decision to make, but I was determined to make it work. I had heard stories of other girls my age making a decent living working as a prostitute, so I figured I could too. I was wrong.

My first few clients were difficult to please, and I was lucky to make enough money to cover my expenses. I was living a dangerous lifestyle, constantly on the lookout for clients and always on the move.

One night I was working in a hotel when I ran into my uncle. I was shocked to see him there and he was even more shocked to see me. He had no idea what I was doing there, and I was too embarrassed to tell him. I quickly made up an excuse and ran away.

That night changed my life. I realized that I could no longer continue living the way I was. I knew I had to make a change, so I decided to quit my job as a prostitute and try to find a more legitimate way to make a living.

I started my own small business as a freelance writer and found success quickly. I was able to make enough money to support my family and get a small apartment. I also started attending part time uni classes and working towards a degree in business.

My life has changed drastically since I quit my job as a prostitute. I now have a stable income and a promising future. I’m grateful for the second chance I was given and I’m determined to make the most of it. I’m no longer living a dangerous lifestyle and I’m proud of my accomplishments.

My story is proof that even in the darkest of times, there is still hope. I’m living proof that you can turn your life around and make something of yourself, no matter what your circumstances may be. So no matter how hard life gets, never give up. There’s always a way to make things better.
