SHAMELESS S’PORE MERCEDES REFUSES TO GIVE WAY TO M’SIA AMBULANCE IN JOHOR

0

A video emerged online by Facebook page We Are Malaysians, showing a Singapore registered Mercedes refusing to give way to a Malaysian ambulance in Johor Bahru.

As a result, both vehicles ended up (appearing) to have collided with each other.

The incident happened in Johor Bahru, with the road heading towards the Woodlands side of Singapore, according to a traffic sign ahead of the vehicles.

The Kempas Medical Centre ambulance was seen trying to overtake from the left of the road and filtering into the right lane that the Mercedes was driving on.

But the Mercedes refused to give way and continued driving onwards and forward, even though half of the ambulance had already entered the lane.

The two vehicles then appeared to have grazed each other (at first glance and based on the angle of the video) before both vehicles then stopped.

The driver of the ambulance then stuck his hand out of his window to let the Mercedes driver know that he had to overtake.

The Mercedes eventually relented and let the ambulance into the lane.

FUNERAL TENTAGE BLOCKED FIRE ENGINE ACCESS, WHERE THERE WAS A “KEEP CLEAR” SIGN

0

Netizen @cheekyjie shared a photos of a funeral tentage blocking the fire engine access area at an HDB estate in Henderson.

Snippets from his post

Seeing this image, I strongly believe that the funeral at my housing estate was blocking the FEA (Fire Engine Access) that was catered for a HDB that was on fire.

The HDB on fire is damn old, so I don’t think there was provision for FEA (both sides of the flat has no roads) that’s why in all the articles you only see small firefighting vehicles.

After studying Google maps it feels like the design of my hdb estate catered for the neighbouring hdb’s FEA (maybe someone from SJ who did this project can advise).

And basically this funeral tentage was blocking the whole FEA.

Update on his post

Just want to be clear, my intentions for this post is to create awareness on the importance of following the laws of keeping FEA clear because you never know when there will be a fire.

Any opinions on whether or not it is related to the NSF has been removed from the screenshot. Please try not to speculate or relate this post with the death of the NSF.

GRAB DELIVERY WOMAN MAKES RACIST REMARK & THROWS ORDER ON CUSTOMER’S SHOE RACK

0

Facebook user Amritpal Singh shared an experience he had with a Grabfood delivery woman who made racist remarks towards him and allegedly throwing his food at his shoe rack.

Here is what he said

Racist Remark

So it was my birthday yesterday and a friend got me delivered cupcakes to my place. It was a surprise for me but i indeed got a surprise.

This lady from Grab delivery came outside my house and threw the whole box of cupcakes onto my shoe rack table outside my house and started saying “Stupid indian, Rude k*ling people, dont know how to answer phone call”.

I was stunned as this cupcake was a surprise to me so i asked her, whats the issue? She went on hurling vulgarities and racist remarks as she walked pass my corridor.

Walking pass 3 of my neighbour house and even they were like whats going on as she was shouting away. I was angered and thus called my friend awhile later and told her about this.

She told me she was working from home and received 2 missed call from the delivery lady and answered the 3rd call.

She didnt realise the phone call as she was in a meeting online via laptop. The delivery lady shouted at my friend and asked “eh whats the unit number or u come down collect, i got other deliveries to do” .

My friend calmy told my unit number and said that the unit number has already been given in the notes and who to deliver to. To which the delivery lady came and threw the cupcakes on my shoe rack table.

(While the delivery lady called after the 1st or 2nd time, she also purposely used the work “Yanade” – which is a slang for (what is it). That was still fine. She went overboard with this remark “dah keling… keling jugak nak suruh kita call”

K*ling is a racial slur that is derogatory, insulting and downright racist. Its like using the N word.

I am angered by this and this is her rice bowl (i believe) . So i hope Grab would do something about this like teaching her how to deliver a service.

Even if my friend had not answered the call, the unit number was already mentioned in the notes. And even then no matter what, the delivery lady could always complain to grab about this instead of surprising me with such a service delivery and being all so racist about it.

I have received delivery from my friend this same way, a number of times before and had no issues with it.

If i do not get an apology from her or any updates from Grab. A police report will be made. I am resorting to this here because Grab helpline nor chatting with them online helped me as they say they cant help with this issue.

SHANMUGAM ON SCDF NSF WHO DIED WHILE FIGHTING FIRE: “VERY UNFORTUNATE, VERY SAD”

0

Singapore Minister for Home Affairs and Law K Shanmugam addressed the news of the NSF firefighter who died while fighting a fire that broke out at Henderson Road.

He conveyed his condolences to the family, and described the incident as being “very unfortunate” and “very sad.”

Here is what he said

[SCDF firefighter dies while fire fighting]

Very unfortunate that a full-time SCDF NSF firefighter passed away today while fighting a fire at Henderson Road. Young man. Very sad.

Home Team officers work tirelessly and bravely every day to keep our homes and Singaporeans safe.

We do our best to protect our officers, but the nature of the work means that there will always be risks.

My deepest condolences to his family. MHA will assist them during this difficult time.

SCDF’s statement

SCDF was alerted to a fire at 91 Henderson Road at about 11.10 am today (8 Dec 2022).

Upon arrival, the fire was raging inside a unit on the 4th floor and the corridor was heavily smoke-logged. SCDF firefighters, donning breathing apparatus, entered and pushed through the smoke-logged unit with two water jets to engage the fire.

Sometime into the firefighting operation, a Full-time National Serviceman (NSF) firefighter fell unconscious in the kitchen area. His crew immediately brought him out of the unit and administered cardio-pulmonary resuscitation on him. An SCDF ambulance crew at the scene also used the automated external defibrillator on him and conveyed him to Singapore General Hospital. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

SCDF and his teammates are very saddened by his death, and extend our deepest condolences to his family. The NSF firefighter was part of the first response crew for this fire incident, and was bravely carrying out his mission of protecting and saving lives and property.

SCDF is providing assistance and support to the family during this difficult time.

Investigations are ongoing.

JACKIE CHAN CONFIRMS THAT RUSH HOUR 4 WITH CHRIS TUCKER IS UNDERWAY

68-year-old veteran actor Jackie Chan has confirmed that Rush Hour 4 is in the works adding that he has had talks for the fourth instalment of the global hit movie.

He was speaking at the Red Sea International Film Festival where he confirmed the news, according to Variety.

The fourth Rush Hour movie has reportedly been in the works for quite some time now, with fellow star Chris Tucker confirming back in 2018 that it was on the cards.

Tucker said in 2018 that “it’s happening (Rush Hour 4),” and that “this is gonna be the rush of all rushes. Jackie is ready and we want to do this so that people don’t ever forget it.”

At the moment, it is still unclear who will be directing the movie, although director Brett Ratner has claimed that he will be helming the movie, despite the producers brushing off his claims.

Ratner was previously forced to exit the Wonder Woman franchise due to allegations of misconduct against several women.

The first Rush Hour movie made US$244.4 million at the box office, with Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker returning for 2 more sequels in 2001 and 2007, earning US$141 million and US$140 million respectively.

BOSS KOWTOW TO HIS PRC WORKER DESPITE GETTING CHEATED OVER $100K

0

This is a story about a senile employer who has had his money cheated out of him, but despite this, he refuses to listen to any advice from people who are trying to help him.

The employer is ridiculously senile and lives in denial.

Here is the story:

I work for a very traditional boss in the F&B business who believes that workers who work for him for over 10 years are an asset and said that he respects his workers like a “deity”.

Little did he know that the PRC worker has been embezzling his money for over 10 years and the amount is over $100,000. He then hires a few specialise Singaporeans to investigate and found concrete evidence of the PRC worker’s ploy.

Despite numerous warnings from not only the new Singapore workers but also his family, he refuses to heed their advice. He does not want to take any action, nor does he wants to contact the Police for help.

He said in his own words “He is a god, we need to respect him”. But day by day the PRC man is stealing more goods from the boss but puts the blame on the Singaporean workers.

When pride overtakes rationality – Denial and senile

Some said that he has gone senile while others said he refuses to accept reality as he will “lose face” among other businessmen.

Today, the Singaporean workers have left the company and the senile boss continues to get scammed by foreign workers.

COUPLE FIGHTING BECAUSE BF WANTS TO GO ON OVERSEAS TRIP WITH FORMER FWB

0

BF (29M) wants to go to his BFF’s birthday trip overseas. She was his FWB.

I told him that he can do whatever he wants. I can’t accept it and will walk away. He got so upset, telling me why I can’t accept him going to this trip.

I already accept them hanging out together occasionally. But for me, him going on trip overseas with a group of friends (some are singles) for this girl who was his FWB for 6 months, is simply too much.

They will stay in the same Airbnb drinking alcohol and going out partying.

I have this no ex no fwb rule for any guy I dated. I made this time exception for him as i love him deeply and he seems so too.

He also kept trying to prove that there is nothing between them. However he knows I would get hurt when I hear about this trip, and yet he still accepted her invitation, without inviting me.

I feel disrespected and it seems my bf just wants to do whatever he wants, like a single man. He denied it and said it’s simple in his mind that she is his best friend so he wants to go.

I hate this feeling that he tries to make me feel guilty. What would you respond when you hear him saying, ‘if you give me trust, it should be a total trust’?

BOOT-LICKING EMPLOYEE TRYING TO BE A ‘HERO’ COMES TO WORK SICK & SABO OTHERS

0

I was the ‘Boot Licking’ employee. That’s what everyone called me. I was the one who would always say “yes” to my boss, no matter what.

I was the one who was always eager to please and who would do whatever was asked of me, no matter the cost.

I was a hard worker, and I wanted to prove myself to my boss. I wanted him to think I was the best employee he had ever had, and I was willing to go above and beyond to make sure that happened.

I was always the first one to volunteer for extra hours, and I never complained when I was given tasks that were outside of my job description.

However, there was one time when I was asked to do something that I felt was wrong. My boss asked me to come to work even though I was feeling ill. I had a fever, a sore throat, and my eyes were itchy and watery. I knew that I was sick, and I knew that I shouldn’t be at work.

But, I didn’t want to tell my boss that I was sick. I didn’t want him to think that I was a slacker or that I was too weak to do my job. I wanted to be the ‘hero’ employee, the one who was always willing to put in the extra effort. So, I told him that I was feeling fine and that I didn’t need to go home.

I know now that this was a mistake. I should have been honest with my boss and told him that I was feeling ill. I should have taken the time to rest and recover so that I could come back to work feeling better. Instead, I worked while I was sick, and I spread my germs to everyone around me.

We all know how that story ended. Everyone in the office ended up getting sick and having to take time off work. And, of course, my boss was not happy. He was angry that I had come in to work when I was feeling ill, and he let me know it.

So, what can we learn from this story? Well, for starters, it’s important to be honest about your health. If you are feeling ill, don’t try to be a ‘hero’ and push yourself to come into work. Take the time to rest and recover, and let your boss know what’s going on.

It’s also important to remember that you don’t always have to be the ‘boot licking’ employee. You don’t have to be the one who always says ‘yes’.

MAN APPLIES FOR JOBS THAT “NOBODY WANTS TO WORK” BUT STILL GETS NO REPLIES

0

Where are all these jobs at? You know, the ones supposedly nobody wants to work?

I keep applying for companies that say they’re in desperate need, they’re hiring fast, blah blah blah, but I haven’t heard back from any aside from a single, solitary rejection email.

And it’s not like I’m applying for CEO, neurosurgeon, aeroplane engineer or things that I’m clearly not qualified for.

I wasn’t even applying for things that I’m somewhat questionably qualified to do, although I am now, purely out of desperation.

I need a job like yesterday, so I’m sticking with what I’ve always done – retail, customer service, etc. The kind of shit they normally hire people right out of school to do. Not one response. Not one.

Yet every day I see another headline about all these jobs out there, or screenshots from bosses and managers complaining about how we’re all twiddling our thumbs while they’re severely understaffed, all these companies are jacking up their prices and making record profits because they can’t get enough people to do the work

meanwhile I’m out here flailing my arms like a psycho, trying to get someone’s attention, all with the hope of making ends meet. If that.

No response.

This is absolute BS.

MAN THREATENS TO QUIT HIS JOB SO HE CAN GET PROMOTED AND A RAISE

I had been working at the same job for over five years.

I had been loyal and dedicated to my employer, but I was feeling increasingly frustrated. I was good at my job, but I was stuck in the same position with no chance of advancement.

I had asked for a promotion and a raise, but I had been turned down. I decided to take matters into my own hands and threatened to quit my job unless I got a promotion and a raise.

At first, my employer was shocked and refused to take my threat seriously. I had been a loyal employee for so long, and they didn’t want to lose me. So, I kept pushing the issue and demanded to know why I had been overlooked for promotion and a raise.

I told them that I was tired of being taken for granted and that if I wasn’t given the opportunity to advance, I would have to look elsewhere. I went for an interview and got an offer letter.

I returned to the company and showed my boss the offer letter and said I will sign it in 3 days.

My employer finally agreed to give me a raise and promote me to the position I had been asking for. I was ecstatic. I was finally going to get the chance to move up in the company and be recognized for my hard work.

However, I soon learned that my employer had only reluctantly agreed to give me a raise and promotion. They were still reluctant to offer me the opportunity to advance, so I had to continue to prove myself. I had to work even harder and be more dedicated than before. I was determined to show my employer that I was capable of taking on more responsibility and doing a great job.

After a few months, my hard work paid off. My employer was impressed with my performance, and I was finally given a raise and promoted to a higher position. I was now making more money and was given more responsibility. I was so proud and grateful for the opportunity to advance in my career.

My experience taught me that sometimes you have to take matters into your own hands if you want to get ahead. It can be intimidating to threaten to quit your job, but sometimes it’s the only way to get the recognition and advancement you deserve. It’s important to remember that you have the power to create the career you want and to make a difference in your life.
