SCAMMER SAYS ‘LOVE YOU SIR’ AFTER REALISING MAN WEARING POLICE UNIFORM

0

A Tiktoker had uploaded a video on his Tiktok account relating to an incident where a scammer tried to scam him but chickened out upon realising that he is wearing a Police uniform.

The scammer had earlier video called his target, the Tiktoker, and had put up a fake background to mimic the Singapore Police Force and said that he was from the ‘verification department’ when the Tiktoker picked up the call.

The scammer wanted the Tiktoker to show his NRIC as a proof of his identity.

Man was wearing Police uniform

Upon hearing this, the Tiktoker appeared in front of the camera while dressed in a SPF uniform.

He then asked the scammer ‘Is it?’

Upon seeing the Tiktoker in the SPF uniform, the scammer hastily switched the camera off and mumbled to what appears to be his accomplices who were beside him.

The TikToker then said to the scammer ‘You see what I’m wearing now’

A voice from the scammer side then exclaimed out ‘oh mother*expletive*’ what are you talking about’

The Tikoker repeated his question again and he could hear some noises coming from the other side of the phone.

He then dared the scammer to switch on his camera again and that was when the scammer finally replied.

Scammer said ‘love you sir’

“Scammer: “Love you sir. Love you sir.”

Asrul: “Love me sir?”

Scammer: “Yes my brother, love you.”

Asrul: “Oh now my brother”

Scammer: “Yes my brother””

Tiktoker clarified his Police uniform

After the video ended, the Tiktoker included another video which explained that he wore the Police uniform when he was talking to the scammer to teach him lesson.

He had just wanted to raise awareness on such scams and he had serve his National Service as a Police NSF.

JOE BIDEN CONVINCED OF RUSSIAN INVASION OF UKRAINE IN COMING DAYS

0

President of the United States Joe Biden said that he is convinced of Russia’s invasion plans for Ukraine.

According to The New York Times, Biden said: “We have reason to believe the Russian forces are planning to and intend to attack Ukraine in the coming week – in the coming days.”

He added that should the invasion ultimately happen, it would be a “catastrophic and needless war of choice”, and that the US and their allies are “prepared to defend every inch of NATO territory from any threat to our collective security.”

Biden was then asked for details as to how he was sure about Russia’s intention to invade Ukraine, he said that his administration has “significant intelligence capability”.

However, he said that diplomacy is always a possibility as long as the attack hasn’t begun: “I say it again, Russia can still choose diplomacy. It is not too late to deescalate and return to the negotiating table.”

Talks between the Foreign Minister of Russia, Sergey Lavrov, and the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, are scheduled for 24 February.

Biden added that any form of military action by Russia before the scheduled talks would indicate that they have “slammed the door shut on diplomacy”.

AUSTRALIA FULLY REOPENED TO ALL VAXXED TRAVELERS FROM TODAY

0

Australia has reopened its borders today (21 February) to all travelers who are fully vaccinated.

According to Reuters, more than 50 international flights will be reaching Australia with about 27 landing in Sydney.

The country’s tourism and hospitality industry has been stricken ever since their borders were shut in March 2020, with tourism being worth more than $60 billion.

Their tourism industry also employs about 5% of Australia’s workforce.

Australia’s Prime Minister Scott Morrison said that “it is a very exciting day, one that I have been looking forward to for a long time, for the day that I first shut that border right at the start of the pandemic.”

Australia has steered away from their tough COvid restrictions and lockdowns since late last year and started living with the virus after their population achieved higher vaccination levels.

Their hospital admissions have also been falling steadily over the last few weeks as Australia’s Omicron outbreak appears to have passed the peak levels.

CPF: ELIGIBLE SPOREANS CAN GO TO OCBC ATMS TO WITHDRAW GOVT PAYMENTS

0

The Central Provident Fund (CPF) through the launch of the GOVCash in a partnership with OCBC and GovTech is in the process of replacing cheques and has started since November 2021.

Due to this initiative, it will allow Singaporeans who are unable to have money directly credited to withdraw payouts from the government through the OCBC ATMs.

Beneficial for over 40,000 Singaporeans

This initiative will also be beneficial for close to 40,000 Singaporeans as they will now escape queuing at the bank’s branches with their cheques in hand.

Banks in Singapore pay out about 500,000 cheques annually.

The CPF Board has also assured that GovCash is as safe as cheques when it comes to receiving of payments.

Those eligible under this scheme can withdraw their payments from over 500 OCBC ATMs around the island.

To simply put it, GOVCash is designed to be user friendly.

Security features of GOVCash

Security measures include using facial recognition technology which will be able to verify the identities of users as well as a liveness detection capability.

The latter works in a way where it can sense if the user is trying to use photographs, videos or masks to skim through the identification process.

Saves time

Previously when it comes to receiving payouts from the government, Singaporeans will have to drop their cheques in the drop-off boxes or go over the counters to exchange them for cash.

Now with GOVCash, Singaporeans can just withdraw payouts via OCBC ATMs at any time of the day without needing to rush to the banks during their operating hours.

They can also use the scan and pay function or PayNow function to receive their payouts through the LifeSG mobile application.
