MAN SPENDS OFF-DAYS WATCHING SOCIAL MEDIA VIDEOS, THEN “POOF” WEEKENDS GONE

0

it has come to my attention that i might just be one of the most boring and potato working adults out there & i don’t know if this is linked to quarter life crisis as well or it’s just me being “hobby-less”.

because i noticed that whenever people ask me “What do you do during your free time? What do you like to do? What do you do that makes you happy?”

I realised I am not even doing much. strangely enough just spending time scrolling social media/ watching meaningless tiktok videos, poof my weekends are gone.

so I am curious how do most of you spend your free time as working adults / what do you working adults do that make you happy?

Netizens’ comments

  1. I get all my joy from non work-related things. Dates with my partner, reading, cooking, exercise, board games nights with my friends.
For me, work is just work. Pros and cons to this – I never feel bogged down by my job and the hours are very chill for the pay I get (dead average pay for my age). On the other hand, I’m not really building my career with any sort of velocity.
  2. Im 28 and i used to be a shut in that just spend lots of time on gaming and watching shows for 5 years
Now i spend lots of time on rollerblading and dancing.
I skate almost every day morning or evening if im with friends and have goals for joining competition in 1 year
Even planning on solo travels soon.
Life is what u make out of it 🙂. Just try a hobby and go for it
  3. Not bad but sorta wish I had a partner or close friends. All drifted away a few years after graduation and idfk how to flirt with ppl without raising police alert to GTA 5 star level.
I cant pick up girls for shit but can pick up reasonably heavy metal things tho. Lifting and memes are sole source of feelsgoodman. Vidya just makes me sad coz I don’t have time to commit to my old overseas gaming groups nowadays

24 VICTIMS LOST OVER $1.5 MILLION TO GOVT OFFICIAL IMPERSONATION SCAMS

0

The Police would like to alert members of the public to a resurgence of a variant of Government Official Impersonation scams, where scammers would impersonate officers from the Singapore Police Force (SPF) to convince victims to transfer their monies to third party bank accounts.

In October 2022, there were at least 24 victims with total losses amounting to at least $1.5 million.  The largest sum lost by a single victim was at least $199,000.

In this scam variant:

  1. Members of the public would receive calls from purported bank officers seeking confirmation if they had purchased a high value branded bag from Changi Airport with their credit card. When victim denied possessing such a credit card or making the purchase, the scammer would inform the victim that the bank would investigate the unauthorised transactions and advise the victim to lodge a police report. The victim would then be transferred to another scammer to assist the victim to lodge the report.
  2. A second scammer would impersonate an SPF officer and direct the victim to send a Whatsapp message to begin lodging a police report. After the victim initiates contact with the second scammer via Whatsapp, they would receive an image of a forged SPF warrant card with the purported officer’s name to gain the victim’s trust. The scammer would ask the victim to provide their personal and bank details, including bank account balances and the credit card number/s, to lodge the police report. Subsequently, the scammer would send the victim a forged police report via Whatsapp. The second scammer would also inform the victim that he was linked to a financial crime investigation and was required to contact the Investigation Officer at a given contact number.
  3. Upon contacting the third scammer masquerading as the Investigation Officer, the victim would be advised to transfer their monies into a safe account to prove their innocence. The victim would be reassured that the monies would be returned to them after 48 hours.
  4. Victims would only realised that they had been scammed when they have contacted their bank or the Police via the official avenues to check on their cases.

S’PORE POLICE FORCE DEBUNKS ALLEGATIONS OF “COAST GUARD CHASING AWAY FISHING VESSEL” INCIDENT

POLICE STATEMENT ON INCIDENT BETWEEN POLICE COAST GUARD OFFICERS AND MALAYSIAN FISHING VESSELS IN SINGAPORE TERRITORIAL WATERS ON 23 OCTOBER 2022

The Singapore Police Force (SPF) is aware of allegations circulating online about Malaysian fishermen being chased away by Police Coast Guard (PCG) officers for fishing in Malaysian Territorial Waters.

The allegations are wholly untrue. The facts of the incident are as follows.

On 23 October 2022, at about 4.00pm, PCG officers were patrolling Singapore Territorial Waters, when they spotted a group of Malaysian fishing vessels entering and exiting the live firing area of Singapore’s Territorial Waters off Lim Chu Kang.

Unauthorised vessels are strictly prohibited from entering the live firing area, for their own safety. PCG officers thus approached the Malaysian fishing vessels and used the public address system on the PCG boat to advise them to leave the live firing area in Singapore Territorial Waters.

At about 5.28pm, a few Malaysian fishing vessels approached the PCG officers, and their crew expressed unhappiness at being asked to leave the area.

Our officers explained that unauthorised vessels were prohibited from entering the area, and asked them to leave for their own safety. After a verbal exchange, the Malaysian fishing vessels returned to Malaysian Territorial Waters at about 5.37pm.

This exchange also took place entirely in Singapore Territorial Waters.

The incident happened during the SPL finals on Thursday, with Noh and Jailaini being seen reacting angrily to someone in the stands.

Noh was seen charging angrily towards the stands and throwing an unidentified object into the stands, as the scuffle escalated.

Hanai had apparently walked over to the Tanjong Pagar officials to say something after his teammate got tackled, but the report stops short of mentioning what was said.
