TOXIC WOMAN STALKS HER EX-BF AS HE IS DATING SOMEONE ELSE

0

Found out that some girl is claiming to be dating my ex; has his picture as her phone lock screen and everything.

Even posts Instagram posts about him using pictures that look quite dated. (His hair is way longer in person now)

I know that my ex went out with her a few times before, but I also know that there’s no way she’s dating him.

How do I know she’s not dating him? She claims to go out for lunch with him every other day, but he usually eats lunch in his office. She says he works at a startup, he actually works in NUS in the building next to mine. He is attached; just not to her.

I don’t know why she’d do this; she patently doesn’t go out with my ex for lunch, that’s impossible because she works in Pasir Ris and he eats in his office, and all the things she’s posting are obviously a couple of years old.

I’m just very confused to why anyone would claim to be dating some guy they weren’t, and my ex no less. He used to be a player kind of guy so my friends suggested that some girls like “snagging” this kind of players but I honestly have no clue what that would be like – we broke up because he cheated on me with some attached girl he met at a bar. What’s the draw even? What does it even benefit her to fake a relationship with someone like him?

Here are what netizens think:

  • Why would you even pay attention to what your ex is doing and your ex’s life? Before you even judge about other girl’s actions, maybe you yourself should get a life first… he’s your ex not your bf, you have no rights to be stalking him or that girl (although you shouldn’t be stalking your bf as well but stalking bf is more justifiable than stalking your ex) whatever the girl is doing, you shouldn’t even be affected by it cos she’s not doing you any harm in any way…
  • Probably your ex asked her for help to do all that to get u off his back. Cos ex already but u still stalking his life. Get a grip and move on la.
  • Crazy. Delusional. Send her to doctor

CORRUPTED EX-BANK OFFICER JAILED FOR SETTING UP BANK ACCOUNTS TO RECIEVE ILL-GOTTEN GAINS

On 19 July 2022, a 35-year-old former bank officer, Phua Wee Hao (“Phua”), was convicted of one count of an offence under the Corruption Drug Trafficking and Other Serious Crimes Act and two counts of abetting others to fail to exercise reasonable diligence in the discharge of their duties as a director

He was sentenced to eight months and one-week imprisonment and a fine of $8,000.

Investigations revealed that Phua had assisted a corporate service provider to recruit local resident directors for the purpose of incorporating shell companies and setting up corporate bank accounts for these shell companies.

Thereafter, control over the corporate bank accounts was handed over to an unidentified individual based overseas, who was believed to be engaged in criminal conduct. One of these corporate bank accounts was subsequently used to receive benefits from criminal conduct amounting to USD $44,393.45.

Investigations also revealed that the local resident directors, whom Phua had recruited, failed to act honestly and exercise reasonable diligence in the discharge of their duties as directors of the shell companies.

Under Section 44(1)(a) of the CDSA, a person who enters into or is otherwise concerned in an arrangement, knowing or having reasonable grounds to believe that, by the arrangement, the retention or control by or on behalf of that other person’s benefits of criminal conduct is facilitated, and knowing or having reasonable grounds to believe that that other person is a person who engages in or has engaged in criminal conduct or has benefited from criminal conduct shall be liable on conviction, to a fine not exceeding $500,000, imprisonment for a term not exceeding 10 years or both.

Under Section 157(1) of the Companies Act, a director who fails to act honestly and use reasonable diligence in the discharge of the duties of his office shall be liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding $5,000 or imprisonment for a term not exceeding 12 months. Under Section 109 of the Penal Code, whoever abets any offence shall be sentenced to the punishment provided for the offence.

The Police take a serious view of these offences and will not relent in taking tough enforcement action against such offenders. Individuals who act as directors of companies must be mindful of their duties as directors. Company directors who fail to exercise reasonable diligence in the discharge of their duties as directors run the risk of allowing their companies to facilitate the retention of benefits derived from criminal conduct.

COLLEAGUE BEGGING FOR SYMPATHY GOES AROUND AND TELLS HER SOB STORY

0

I work with a woman whose mother passed away last month and now she’s raising a special needs kid by herself.

Every day at work, regardless of the topic of discussion, she starts complaining about her situation.

While I understand and sympathise, when she sat next to me and started venting and telling me how lucky I am to be childfree and still have both my parents around, I politely told her we all have our issues and right now, I’m just not in the right headspace to listen to her complaining.

She looked at me and went to sit next to somebody else, whispering about how rude I was.

Well, everyone has their own problems and we are not like close or what. I had it enough and did not want to hear her sob story.

So I told her to go jump down the building if she had enough, I also said that this is a workplace to earn money, not for you to sell your sad stories.

She then said she was just telling how she feel, I told her. “Guess what nobody cares, You sound like a geylang girl who tells me a sad story and wishes the customers tip them more. But your too ugly to be one.”

Am I wrong for not being her soundboard or unpaid therapist?

WOMAN WANTS BF TO “GIVE IT TO HER” DAILY, CAUSE HER DRIVE IS HIGH

0

My boyfriend and I have been together almost 3 years, we live together and I love him so much, we have a great time together, we are constantly laughing and having fun.

But I have a higher S drive than him and it sometimes makes me sad.

We do it 2 maybe 3 times a month and recently I feel like he’s just trying to get it over with. Tonight i told him I was in the mood and I kept trying to kiss him. He was kissing me back but in a fooling around kind of way which wouldn’t allow me to get things more hot and heavy.

He also told me he wasn’t really in the mood. Eventually, after a while, he gave in but it made me feel like he was doing it because he felt bad. We ended up doing it, but he finished very quickly and I was noooo where near my finish.

He attempted to keep going for me but I was messy and uncomfortable with him finishing that I just told him to not worry about it. We got into a little bit of a heated discussion afterwards because he sensed that I was upset and it’s not that’s I’m upset with him personally, it’s just my love language is physical touch and it’s important to me that we have a healthy S life.

I rather have it everyday.

He also takes this very personally when I bring it up. This has been something that has come up here and there in the past. But I’m wondering what we can do to improve our lives.

We are very honest with each other and he knows how I feel but he just keeps apologizing and promising me that he’ll make it up to me. I just feel like he doesn’t have it in him all the time.

I’m just a little bummed.

GUY ASKS WHY DO PEOPLE GET DEGREE IN HISTORY/LITERATURE WHEN THE SALARY IS LOW

0

Can someone help me understand why people choose to spend 3 or 4 years studying for a degree in soft fields such as sociology or history or english literature, when it is so clear that first, it would be next-to impossible for them to get a decent-paying job; and second, they will spend the rest of their lives being mocked by computer scientists, engineers, data scientists etc. as being significantly less competent/intelligent; not to mention the fact that their fields provide nothing of value compared to STEM.

I don’t even like CS. I was a HP student in JC. I’m inclined to say that I hate it. I hate computers, I hate math. But I dragged myself out of bed everyday to do it. I graduated FCH and I now have a high-paying job.

I understand how much someone can love subjects like history and literature. I love world history with a real passion. I just don’t understand how people can spend money to study it. I have had JC classmates who are studying history at some of the most expensive universities in the US. Why?

I’m not discrediting history/literature as “easy” subjects. The amount of time you have to spend digesting all the readings and to package them coherently in your mind in order to put forward a critical argument is sometimes more difficult than any math or CS class I have had to take. My best friend studies anthropology and his readings are so esoteric (and long) that it is a wonder how he manages to synthesize them all. But the stigma that humanities-types are inferior in intelligence is nothing new, and it will always be a puzzle to me that someone will subject themselves to that sort of societal discrimination.

If I was born to a rich family and I know I wouldn’t have to work for the rest of my life, for sure I will be pursuing a degree that I am passionate in. I’d even do a PhD. But for the majority of us who do not have that luxury, it will forever elude me that someone would graduate with a history degree, with which the only thing they can do is teach.

GUY “CRAWLED” OUT OF POLY ONLY TO GET $2K/MTH JOB, ASKS HOW DO PEOPLE GET $3K SALARY

0

Honestly, how do people be like earning anything more than 3k when they’re starting out?

I (23M) barely managed to crawl out of poly and NS, and the success stories out here makes me damn salty with my meager 2k borderline salary lmao.

And it’s not like I can’t wait to get a higher pay, but I really feel like the science industry (lmao lab techs especially) are really paid too little. Scrolled through JobStreet today and all I see are <2.5k salaries, minimum bachelor’s, some even degree!

Man with the amount yall paying me not only do I get to eat grass every month, but also watch my salary get increase by a meager $50 per year, while trying to save up for a uni cert, hopefully in a different industry where it’s easier to advance.

If there’s any advice though, please help a poor guy out sigh.

Netizens’ comments

  • If you are chiobu just work in siam diu easy peasy get $10k per month, but you guy ah so bopian
  • When I grad from poly last time, my starting pay was only $1.4k. You need to do job hop like every 2yrs in order to increase your pay faster. At the same time, gain as much working experience as possible. Learn as much as possible during the starting stage.
Best is to get a degree. Jiayou!
  • Get a degree cert then?
Last time I was a diploma holder with years of relevant experience but I was doing the same role and getting the same pay as my then colleagues who were a few years younger than me and freshly graduated from uni with zero experience.
  • Although our salaries were the same, I was doing more because managers liked to find me to do their work (even if I wasn’t assigned to them) because I was more experienced.
Was quite frustrated because my pay seemed to get stuck at a certain amt. Simply couldn’t hit $3k despite working for many years already. For my case, I later went to get a degree also lor.
  • Why the need to feel so salty of your 2k salary. You are a fresh grad with no experience. There is this echo chamber happening in social media now that it seem like everyone started with 5k – 6k. Those type of starting pay demand you to be certain field where talent are scarce and the industry is blooming. In tech, there is nothing to be envy about. These fresh folks that earn 6k. If they are not any good, out they go within 2 months or their salary will be stagnant for a long time. So don’t be too upset, everyone have a different staring point. Uncle here also started at the lowest food chain before raises all the way up. So substance more than fluff is the way to go forward. Life is a long journey, they can be higher earning now doesn’t mean they will be 20 years down the road. Heck even 30 years. So no biggy, be smart, be hardworking, be opportune seek the right moment and you have a chance to be successful.

A staff at Timbre+ at One North, Shuang Kou Mian, gave away 45 packets of noodles after a customer complained that it took too long to prepare and cancelled the order.

The hawker posted the generous offer on the Facebook group Hawkers United – Dabao 2020, saying that it took them an hour to prepare the 45 packets of food.

But the customer lost their patience at having to wait, and cancelled the order – and the hawker then decided to give it all away.

The stall also shared that the GrabFood rider had allegedly thrown the packets of food back at them.

Here is what they said

Would like to give these 45 packets noodles out for free to anyone who wants! Or donate it to anyone in need No questions asked! we feel it would be a waste to throw

Netizens’ comments

  • I think the person who ordered 45 servings of noodles has no clue how long it takes to prepare! The order should have factored in at least 1.5 hours! Jeez! So inconsiderate.
  • Is there a way to ban these people from ordering food delivery again? Ridiculous!!!
  • who ever ordered this please pay up !!! Grab shouldn’t allow this to happen. Any restaurant will need lead time to cook that many bowls of noodles.
  • Even I cook Maggie mee also need 225 minutes to be done with 45 packs of noodle. The customer crazy one.

WOMAN FOUND WITH THROAT SLIT IN JOHOR, BESIDE YOUNG SON COVERED IN BLOOD

0

A 35-year-old woman was found with her throat slit on a farm in Johor, and she was still alive when the owner of the farm found her after passing by, according to Sin Chew Daily.

She had her young son beside her at the time who was covered in blood, and the farm owner then ran off to find help but the woman eventually died.

The farm owner told Sin Chew Daily that he was on his way home at about 7.30pm when he saw a young boy standing beside a motorcycle.

He thought that someone’s motorcycle had toppled over and he went over to take a look, and that was when he found the woman lying on the side of the road with her throat cut open.

The deceased couldn’t speak but gestured to him to get help, while her 5-year-old son stood next to her in shock, according to Oriental Daily.

The child is believed to have witnessed the attack on his mother.

The farm owner then went to get help from a security guard nearby and waited at the booth for the police to arrive before leaving the scene.

However, he was later informed that the woman had died and he then went to the police station to record his statement.

The locals in the area said that the deceased bred cattle at the farm, and was on her way home when the attack took place, according to Oriental Daily.

MOTORCYCLIST HIT BY MERCEDES & DRAGGED ON THE ROAD @ BUKIT PANJANG

An engaged couple in their 20s were on their motorcycle when they got reportedly rear-ended by a Mercedes and dragged under the car in an accident.

Shin Min Daily News reported that the accident took place on 17 October at about 8pm along Petir Road in Bukit Panjang.

The 36-year-old stepfather of the female victim, told SMDN that the car had rear-ended their motorcycle after the motorcycle slowed down while passing a hump.

The motorcycle was then stuck under the car and got dragged for about 4 metres on the road, with the female victim then video-calling her stepfather to tell him about what happened.

A passer-by then took over her phone and told him about the accident that happened to his stepdaughter, and both of them (the injured couple) was then sent to the hospital with her fiance being unconscious.

The male victim fractured his limbs, while his fiancee suffered a 7cm long laceration on her leg, and both of them underwent surgery.

A 38-year-old driver is also assisting the police with their investigations.

SCDF BROKE INTO FLAT TO RESCUE WOMAN WHO “FAINTED”, BUT SHE WAS JUST SLEEPING

0

A resident at Block 680 Choa Chu Kang Crescent called the SCDF for help because he thought his wife had fainted after she didn’t answer the door.

The SCDF soon arrived and broke into the unit, but as it turns out, the woman was simply sleeping and it was a false alarm.

According to Shin Min Daily News, the incident happened on 19 October and one of the neighbours said that they saw SCDF officers heading to one of the units to saw off a lock.

Wife was not responding

The man who called the SCDF, an elderly man in his 70s, told SMDN that he returned home that day realised that he forgot his keys.

His home’s front door was open but his front gate was locked, and he then called out to his wife to help him open the door.

But his wife didn’t respond despite his repeated shouts and knocks, and he then got worried that something might’ve happened to her.

He then called a locksmith, who told him that he would take about an hour to arrive, the man panicked and called the police for help.

He said that his wife just underwent leg surgery and if she had really fainted inside, he couldn’t wait an hour to get to her.

Officers broke into the unit to rescue her

The police then arrived at the scene with the SCDF officer who broke into the unit by sawing off the lock on the front gate.

The officers then entered the unit to check on the unconscious woman, but then found out that she had been sleeping the whole time.

Woman thought knocks & shouts were from renovation

The wife also spoke to SMDN and said that she heard the knocking and shouting, but thought that it came from the renovation works upstairs.

She added that she was shocked to see so many people inside the room when she finally woke up, and though something bad had happened.

The SCDF paramedics then checked her blood pressure just to be safe and left after determining that she was fine.

SCDF confirmed the incident and said that their officers conducted forced entry into the unit and one person was assessed for injuries but refused conveyance to the hospital.
