BOSS WANT TO CONVERT PART-TIME STAFF TO FULL-TIME SO HE DOESN’T HAVE TO PAY OT

0

I’ve been working part-time at my current workplace for about a year now and my boss has thoughts of converting me to a full-timer.

I’m not trying to be picky but I think the terms are really unattractive? As a part-timer, I work only 3-4 days a week and I get paid $10 per hour. That works up to about $800 a month? If I work OT and take the pub hol shifts, I’ll get paid a lot more and apart from my own work, I’m not obliged to care about anything else.

As a full-timer, I’m not entitled to any extra pay if I work past hours and I’ll definitely be assigned more things to do. My boss is offering me $1600 a month inclusive of CPF and I have to work 6 days a week. Off days can only be on weekdays and not weekends and the shifts are longer. Leave wise, I’ll get about 10 days for the first year but with each year of service, this will increase by 1 until it caps at 14.

If I continue with my part-time stint, although the money is lesser, the schedule is flexible and I have more leeway to take up other jobs or free lance work to earn more.

If I take up this full-time offer, I don’t think I’ll even have time to rest still want to find more work?! I think the decision is quite clear but now I’m just afraid that if I don’t take up my boss’ ‘kind offer’, I won’t even have a part-time job to go to…

Here are what netizens think:

  • Your boss also know how to do math, just decline politely and tell him you prefer the freedom.
  • Or you can tell your boss to offer you a much higher full time salary and other benefits if not it will not be worth it.
  • Boss like that one, they can save how much they save how much.

GUY CAN NOT TAHAN EATING WITH COLLEAGUES, EVERYDAY RESTAURANT AT CBD

0

I just received my credit card bill and I spent a whopping 2k last month??

Like wth usually my bill is about slightly more than 1k and during covid it was less than $500 cos I didn’t go out much.

But ever since I went back to office to work, I realised my expenditure has gone way up? I work in the CBD and my colleagues are not the kind who will settle for $2.50 caipeng so we always end up eating at restaurants for lunch. We will order the lunch sets but they always like to order extra dishes to share so each lunch I’ll still spend about $30.

I love food and I enjoy eating with them but every day go restaurant rly a bit chor leh. I don’t need to eat grass at the end of the month to afford this but I also don’t have much savings. Sometimes I wonder if my colleagues are just rich or do they also live paycheck to paycheck like me?

Lucky I’m not married and don’t have any children so I’m just living for myself but even so I’m starting to feel like I should have more 0s in my bank account just in case lah.

Ytd I tried to make an excuse to eat on my own just so I can save some money but they kept asking me why I don’t want to join them I ended up still eating with them.

Am I very loser ah?

Here are what netizens think:

  • You are not a loser…you are a Fortune Cat
  • Same thing happens to me! I will be working at town area soon too where the area also dont have caipng stuff to eat one… sian… guess we have to make our own food and tabao to office liao… haha
  • That’s why wfh better screw the cafes/restaurants. let them lose money and go bankrupt with their greed and overpriced and tasteless food.

MAN SEEKING REFUND FROM SCOOT AIRLINE BUT PHONE KEEP GETTING CUT OFF

0

A netizen reached out to Singapore Uncensored stating his difficulties to get a refund from Scoot.

He said that the matter has been dragging for months and till now it has not been resolved.

Here is the story:

I booked a flight to Bangkok for 12th July via the Scoot website.

Both me and my partner were travelling together but unfortunately both of us were tested positive for COVID on 11th July. I called Scootโ€™s hotline to reschedule my flight and spoke to their CSO Vinaa.

I asked her what I needed to provide and how do I go about to re-book my flight.

She gave me 3 options:

  1. I can rebook my flight within 14 days.
  2. Receive a voucher
  3. Get a refund

As I was going for major surgery, I explained to her that I had to wait for 30 days therefore, option 1 was not suitable for me. As such, I chose option 3 so that I can use the refund amount to rebook my flights. She mentioned that I needed to send in my doctorโ€™s memo stating we are COVID+ and a photo of our ART results. I checked thrice if that was all the documentation needed and she said yes.

After submitting the documents, on the 5th day when I was feeling better, I called again and spoke to another CSO. The person mentioned that my case was still under process. On the 7th day, I called again and was told the same.

Two weeks later, I receive an email from CSO Vinaa telling me that my refund was rejected because I did not provide a PCR test and other supporting documents.

I replied that Vinaa did not mention the need for a PCR test and we did not do one as we are both fully vaccinated.ย

A week later, I called them again as I did not hear from them and spoke to Shalini. She told me that my case has been escalated to the refund team and that the manager will call me within 7 days also stating that my refund is being processed. Days passed, and again I do not hear from them. I called them again and I was told that I will be refunded within 1 month. A week later I checked my account, emails, I donโ€™t see anything from Scoot.

I have gone to BKK, did my surgery and I am back in Singapore but still no news about my refund.

I called Scoot, and after waiting for 1.5 hours, I finally got through and spoke to Akram. After getting my case ID, he puts me on hold and the line gets disconnected. Thinking it was a technical problem, I call them again three days later. The CSO gets my case ID and again, the line gets disconnected! Now, I am curious because I am certain this cannot just be a technical error โ€“ twice. So, the next day, my partner calls Scoot from her workplace, she even goes on to tell the CSO not to cut the line, but again after getting the case ID, the line gets cut!

What is going on?

Why am I not getting an update and what kind of service hotline simply cuts a line? It has been 2 months. From the Facebook page, I noticed many others facing similar situations.

What is your reason for this? While I understand that processes take time, should we at least get accurate information and updates on our cases? I have my fair share of working in a call center, doesnโ€™t Scoot have an SLA standard to keep up?

FRIEND EXPOSED WOMAN’S HUSBAND AFTER SEEING HIM CHEATING AT ION ORCHARD

0

My husband and I have been married for more than 10 years now and he has always treated me well.

He is a romantic guy and would buy me flowers and take me out on nice dates all the time. I’m not a very optimistic person when it comes to relationships because I had infidelity issues with all my exes but because of him, I started to believe that if you are together with the right person, every day is Valentine’s Day.

So you can imagine my reaction when my best friend told me that she saw my husband holding hands with this woman outside ION Orchard. I was furious at her for trying to sow discord between me and my husband especially when she didn’t have any proof to back up her claim.

She was the one I turned to through all my painful breakups so she should know better than anyone to tell me all these things without proof. Now that she has planted the seed in my head, I can’t help but feel suspicious of my husband and his motives for being nice to me.

As much as I want to ask him about it, I don’t want him to think that I don’t trust him and would rather take my friend’s word over his. In our ten plus years of marriage, he’s brought me nothing but happiness so I really don’t want our marriage to fall apart just like that.

I know my best friend is concerned about me but right now, I really just hate her so much for casting doubt on my happy marriage and putting me through this trauma all over again.

Here are what netizens think:

  • Don’t be a fool, its always friend that sabotage.
  • You can lan lan suck thumb or you can divorce, only two roads choose.
  • Maybe your friend single too long jealous make story.

MAN STUCK INSIDE TOILET FOR 2 HOURS BECAUSE HIS TOILET DOOR WAS JAMMED

0

A man was stuck inside his toilet for two hours after his toilet door lock was jammed.

The owner of the flat, Mr Huang, spoke to Shin Min Daily News and said that the toilet in his flat at Block 270 Bangkit Road at Bukit Panjang, had just finished renovation upgrades via the Home Improvement Programme.

He was taking a shower on 3 September when he realised that he couldn’t open his toilet door.

Huang further elaborated that his toilet uses a folding door and that the locking mechanism had gotten stuck one way or another.

He then started banging on the door to get the attention of his wife but she couldn’t hear him as she was watching television in another room.

She only heard him banging for help after about an hour, and they tried to break open the door before eventually opening a gap in the door after an hour when Huang used a screwdriver to pry it open.

In the end, the couple managed to tear the door off the rails and Huang was freed after 2 hours, and the couple is now afraid to lock the door whenever they use the toilet.

Huang then contacted the authorities as his toilet renovation was under the HIP programme and they agreed to replace his door.

On 31 August, ICA officers from Changi Airfreight Centre, Air Cargo Command foiled an attempt to smuggle 2,800 sticks of duty unpaid cigarettes into Singapore.

Our eagle-eyed officers had spotted anomalies in the scanned image of a postal article and decided to open it for further checks. The contraband was found shrink-wrapped with loose tea leaves and concealed in tea packaging.

The case was referred to Singapore Customs for further investigation.

As guardians of our borders, ICA will continue to keep a watchful vigilant eye to thwart smuggling attempts through Singaporeโ€™s borders.
