YP ACCUSES ELDERLY MAN OF “STARING” AT HIM, FORCES HIM TO SAY “I AM A COWARD”

0

19-year-old Ezra Jeet Singh, was charged in court on 13 August with public nuisance after allegedly intimidating him into saying that he is a coward inside the MRT.

The incident purportedly happened on board a train with other commuters, and the youth was seen approaching the elderly man, Mr Ismail Mohd Dawan.

The youth was seen calling him a coward as well, and he was also making derogatory comments about the man’s mother.

The Singapore Police Force said that they received a report about a man allegedly causing a commotion on board an MRT train carriage on 5 August at about 11.10pm.

The video, which was posted on Stomp, showed the YYP accusing the elderlyy man, who was sitting in a corner seat, of staring at him.

The former was seen in the video telling the latter to “tell them you’re a coward”, to which the elderly man then turns to the other commuters, raising his hand and saying “I am a coward.”

Police officers soon arrived at Bedok MRT station but the YP was already gone.

He was subsequently arrested by police officers from Bedok Police Division, who worked with officers from the Public Transport Security Command to identify the youth.

GUY ASK FIANCEE WAKE HIM UP FOR WORK DAILY, THEN GETS ANGRY WHEN SHE WAKES HIM UP

0

Why does it have to be my job?

I’m tired of my fiancé making me set alarms for him to wake up in time for work. And every time I set an alarm and go to wake him up, he gets pissed at me.

So then he will make me set another alarm so he can “have ten more minutes”.

Mind you, I’m also busy with our three year old and soon to be newborn coming any time now, cooking, and cleaning.

It’s extremely stressful for me to have the job of waking him up as well as everything else.

But yet he always tells me he hates it when I try to act like his mother? I wish he would get an actual alarm clock.

I finally put my foot down today and said it’s not my responsibility and he said “Okay. I guess I’ll just keep being late for work and lose my job then.”

Like it would be my fault. No, it would be his right? I’m fucking tired too man.

ELDERLY WOMAN HAD STROKE SYMPTOMS, WENT A&E & ALLEGEDLY TOLD WAITING TIME = 4 HOURS

0

Is it normal for A&E waiting time to be long?

78 year old grandma recently had symptoms similar to a stroke and we were quite worried since she suffered from a stroke before.

So my family brought her to the A&E at around 11pm but we were told the waiting time is 4hours?

Is it normal for the waiting time to be that long and isn’t a suspected stroke considered an emergency? Is there any way we can speed up the waiting time?

Netizens’ comments

  • There is triage before waiting for doctor. The triage is usually quite fast. Maybe they don’t think it’s stroke.
    • Yea the triage nurses are quite experienced. Also the drs will screen the cases in the triage/consult queue and uptriage them to a higher acuity if necessary
  • What symptoms did she have? A suspected stroke out of window (meaning ongoing for past few days) will not be treated with the same hastiness as one that occurred an hour ago.
Also yes ED is very full and busy. Until now I don’t understand why people pay 140 dollars to walk in for diarrhoea and wait 6 hours to see a dr when they can go to their gp clinic
    • Vision slightly blurry in one eye and also droopy, pain on the right leg and shoulder pain. Which was why we were quite worried :)
  • Your grandma’s condition was assessed not to be life threatening that’s why she’s been told to wait 4hrs. Of course if you notice her condition deteriorating while waiting you should inform the staff to check on her immediately.

CAR DEALER IGNORES MAN’S WIFE & TALK TO HIM INSTEAD, THINKS SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT CARS

0

“I tried posting on legal advice but it said only trusted people can post… and I’m not sure where else to put it, but I’m guessing some of you have gone through similar shit…

My husband and I each had our own cars when we got married. His car sucked. Mine is fairly reliable but pretty old. I have a 40-minute commute to work and he works down the road, so we decided to trade in his car and get a new one for me, and he’d start driving mine.

I got approved for a loan from my bank and added my husband to it because he has little credit history right now. thought it would just help his credit score over time.

We went to a used car dealership. My husband knows nothing about cars, I did all the talking. But the salesmen responded to every one of my questions by talking to my husband. We found a car with less than 100k mileage with a solid maintenance history for a good price.

He had my husband sign the paperwork. We asked about it, and he said as long as we’re both on the loan, it doesn’t matter who signs the purchase agreement. No problem, I thought.

We go to the bank and get a check for the dealer; it only has my husband’s name.

We purchased the car, and he only had my husband sign the paperwork. He tells us that we will both be on the title when it comes in the mail. Three weeks later, the title comes out, and it just has his name.

We go to SOS and they tell us they can’t add me to the title without the banks permission. Okay, makes sense, we go to the bank and ask to have me added.

They tell us the title cannot be changed until the loan is paid off.

I understand that we’re married and share property and all that, but why is it that I can’t be added to the title of a car that we bought for me? I’m the one that took out the loan. We added him as an afterthought because his credit history is practically empty. He never even set foot in the bank during this; they just called him to verify some information.

Every step of the way, I was told I’d be in the title. I have no idea why I can’t be added, and the bank refused to give me a reason. It’s just that it can’t be modified until the loan is paid off. Is there anything I can do, or is this just how stuff works? Ever since we got married, I’ve been treated as “less than” my husband when getting insurance, paying for HDB etc, and it’s just kind of disheartening.”

HDB VS CONDO – NETIZEN SAYS NOT MUCH DIFFERENCE, NEIGHBOURS ARE THE SAME

0

Are you team HDB or team EC?

New homeowners, did you opt for an EC or HDB? Personally, I’d want an EC because of the convenience of the facilities, and security and some say it’s a potential investment if it’s in a good location. Also, I guess to a certain extent the prestige? IDK haha. Since I grew up in a 4 room HDB I always see EC as something upscale and back then us kids in neighborhood schools will always go ‘WOAHHH’ when our classmate stays in a condO.

The downside however is the size of the unit. For the same price, you can get something way way way bigger in a matured estate like Clementi, Queenstown. I’ve seen property videos on youtube and the size seems underwhelming.

HDB is definitely the more affordable option if you factor in unit space and location BUT the resale market now is insane. Yes, facilities wise it’s not that accessible but hey, do you really use the facilities often though? BTO is out of the question for some of us who missed the boat or waiting for queue number still ( ='( ).

Which do you guys choose in the end and why? For context my GF and I are earning a combined income of 10.5k and we’re both 29/27. Considering our options long term haha.

Netizens’ comments

  • Not into EC, not much difference from HDB because essentially you get the same type of neighbours
  • Totally agree on the same type of neighbours. For this reason, also avoid entry level condos in HDB estates.
  • In my previous condo, my neighbour used the common corridor as his carpentry workshop and wood chips and dust came into my unit.
  • Team whatever can afford comfortably

STARHUB CUSTOMER ALLEGEDLY HAD SUBSCRIPTION TO DISNEY+ ADDED WITHOUT HIS CONSENT

0

Disney+ subscribed without my consent (Starhub)

This is the second time it has happened to me.

Is it just me or is this some issue on starhub side?

I received an email at 11pm yesterday that I’ve subscribed to disney+ and was dumb founded as I was in the gym and did not click any link or sign myself up for it.

Scanned my computer as well and there wasn’t any virus that couldve caused a data breach.

A 40minutes call with starhub helpline and the poor service line personnel could not answer to why this had happened and offered to terminate for me. But I’ll incur the 55 dollar termination fee which I would need to call in again to waive on the next bill. (Ridiculous)

TLDR: 2nd time starhub auto signed me up for Disney plus and I had to waste time calling in… Anyone else facing this issue?

Their helplines are absolutely not helping whatsoever. They are blatantly ignoring key points of my questions and saying that I was the one that sign up for it…. Why would I even contact them if that was the case.

And to make things even clearer, the moment I saw the email notification of disney+ being activated, I straight up called 1633 to inform them that I did not authorise it.

LOCAL MANAGER SAID THAT HIS EXPAT COLLEAGUE GETS TO LEAVE WORK EARLIER

0

A Singapore Uncensored reader recently shared his story with us after he felt that the treatment of locals at his company was different when compared to an ang mo staff.

Here is the full story.

I am currently working in an MNC as a manager and I feel that being white has its privileges. So my general manager is an ang mo. And there are a total number of 5 other senior managers in my company. 4 of these managers are local, while the other is an ang mo.

Though he has less experience than us, his salary is 50 percent higher than the rest of the managers.

Oh yes, he has a nice condo in Orchard road which is paid for by the company as well. This guy would come in late for work and leave early from work for Happy Hour and the general manager would say nothing about it. The general manager and this manager would leave for drinks at 3 or 4pm and this manager would dump his workload on all of us. And of course, he would get the credit in the end.

But if we local managers come in late, we would be shouted at by our general manager even though we were late for just 5 minutes with a valid excuse. We would end work at 8pm and that would be considered early and sometimes we would also come back on public holidays and weekends as well. Though we local managers and the ang mo manager have similar roles, but such double standards of treatment is indeed frustrating.

I’m currently thinking of leaving my job but due to the covid, I would just have to hold on.

BF DEMANDS GF TO PAY HIM $50 A DAY RENT TO USE HIS CAR WHILE HE’S OVERSEAS

0

I had to borrow my boyfriend’s car to visit my family. He wants me to pay him $50 per day for rental use of it. I am upset by this, but I think that maybe I am just being too sensitive.

Ordinarily this wouldn’t be a problem. I would just take my car, but it is being fixed right now. This meant that in order for me to drive to see my family in Malaysia, I would have to either rent a car or borrow someone.

Since my boyfriend was flying out to the UK for work and wouldn’t be using his, I asked him if he would mind if I borrowed it. He told me that of course, I could borrow his car.

Nothing else was said about it until today (other than some minor things). I texted him to thank him again for helping me. The way I worded things apparently made it clear to him that I was only planning to cover the petrol I used, and he told me that he expected me to pay him a “reasonable” fee for using the car.

Reasonable to him is $50 a day plus replacing the petrol I use (so the visit will cost me at least $250 in addition to whatever the petrol costs).

It is his car, so I don’t think I can really argue with him about this. I do understand in principle.

I don’t think being his girlfriend entitles me to use his stuff whenever I want, but I am hurt that he is being so stingy. We’ve been together for a year and my only other option was to rent a car through a private company.

I guess I would have hoped that he would have been more sympathetic, but maybe he has a right to expect that he be paid for use of his car. I don’t know. I very rarely ask him for any favours and cover all of my expenses myself, so he can’t say that I am using him or exploiting him financially.

This has never come up before, so I have been taken off guard. Maybe I am being too sensitive?

CEO ACT AS “HOLY MAN”, TELLS EMPLOYEE TO STAY AWAY FROM HIS SECRETARY

0

A man shared a story online of how he got targeted by his CEO after he got close with the secretary.

Here is the story:

eh, this world really very funny. My CEO is one of the top earners in the company and he is always proud to say that he is a religious man. He is not the boss, he is an employee like me.

After he found out that I was closed to his secretary he keeps aiming at me. Nothing is wrong mah, both of us are in our 20s and we are free to socialise. The CEO’s eyes showed jealousy when he sees me eating with his secretary.

He then confronted my general manager and told him to talk to me.

My GM said this:

“The CEO has informed me that you have gotten close with mary (fake name) and you should stop socialising with her.

If I were you, I would not go near the CEO’s people.

You are now at the front of his trigger, I expect you to keep a distance with her at least on the company grounds”

Unluckily, my Lan jiao GM who is the ultimate balls-licker did not side with me, I told the girl about it and she was confused. She said that the CEO has no right to interfere with friendship and socialising.

Just to be clear, I am not only close with only her, but I am also close with more than 20 other colleagues in the company.

The company is a logistics firm in Jurong Area.

I went to ask around in the industry and they told me that he is a petty fool who acts almighty and religious(He even puts a cross in his car and acts like some saint or holy man) but deeps down he is a perverted monster that likes to keep young girls as a pet.

RENTING A BF/GF IN SINGAPORE, WRONG OR NOT? NETIZENS SHARE THEIR OPINION

0

A netizen posted a question asking if there is anything wrong with renting a gf/bf for a day.

Here is what the netizen said:

Hello. Has any lonely Singaporeans here ever rent a gf or bf date from maybe.sg?

If yes, how is the experience? If got positive or negative experience please share with me. I will maybe rent a girl from that site for one day for a meal.

Here are what netizens think:

  • I personally don’t think there’s anything wrong with it. If you’re an introvert with rusty social skills and your aim is to go on a date with a pretty girl to ‘practice’, I think it’s fine. Since it’s not a date for a relationship, it’ll give you less pressure and worry about screwing up/saying the wrong thing.

However, if you’re looking for an emotional connection, you’re not going to find it in a girl you rent for a meal. I mean, she can fake it, because that’s what she’s paid to do, but you need to remember she’s doing it as a job. Also, these aren’t KTV girls so please don’t just start touching or groping them.

It seems that maybe you’re lonely? No shame in that, a lot of us are. But you won’t fill the void with renting girls. Perhaps go on some rented dates, boost your confidence and then go out for activities yourself where you can meet new people 🙂

  • Have you tried dating apps before? You could get dates over there and who knows, maybe one of them could be your future partner.

Though looks really play a large part in dating apps, had people I know with good looks and they are getting matches and dates easily. While here I am, getting no luck using it 🙁

  • Introverts are comfortable being alone, what you’re describing sounds more like shyness or social awkwardness rather than introversion.

I’m an introvert and I enjoy spending time alone, whether it’s inside the house by myself or doing things outside on my own. I like to explore places and do things myself – exercising, shopping, walking around, travelling, dining, watching movies etc. It’s more of personal preference rather than other factors hindering me, such as being scared to talk to people etc.

I’m okay with chatting with strangers anywhere when I need to/want to (taxi uncles, people sitting beside me on long distance transport when overseas, other people around me when queueing hours for stuff etc.), but generally I prefer to come and go freely wherever whenever I want, and making plans with people are usually a hassle so I’d rather go out on my own than to have a fixed date and time to meet up with other people. Being around with other people also means having to compromise and share more stuff, and all the interaction is quite draining for me, as compared to when I’m doing things quietly on my own and only interact with other people when I have the energy to.
