A man shared a story on Facebook stating how some people can be superficial and always judges things from the outside.

He booked a flight to Korea as a surprise for his girlfriend but she rejected the “gift” as the airline was a budget airline.

Here is the story:

I have been dating my girlfriend for over a year now. I am working full-time and earn roughly $60k per year and she is still in university. I wanted to travel for a long week in Korea.

After I happily booked the air tickets and hotel. I decided ot surprise her and told her that we were flying to Korea.

I expected a smile on her but all I got was disgust,

This is roughly how the conversation went:

Me: I have a surprise for you.

Her: What?

Me: We are going to Korea! Hotels and Flights has been booked!

Her: What airline are we taking?

Me: Scoot

Her: What?! I’m not going. So budget.

That’s when I started to get pissed. I come from a family where someone has gave you something for free it is best to gracefully accept it–especially something that isn’t cheap (tickets were like $900 round-trip each)–is just disrespectful.

I told her that I would buy both of our tickets because I want to surprise her and she demanded to go for Singapore airlines but I told her I don’t have the money for that. And that’s the truth, from my perspective.

I put a lot of money into savings, good health insurance, etc.

That’s more than I typically spend on entertainment for myself in 3 months.

So when she said that I could afford it, she basically meant that I could be less conservative with my money and pay for it instead of saving my money like I always do.

Working in a company is like working to survive. Every day it’s either a fight with the customers or your co-workers.

A man shared a story of how his IT general manager abuses his authority and makes the whole world hate him.

In his story he said that the general manager controls everything despite knowing nothing, even the choice of words spoken must be controlled by him, he does not allow people to use the word “please” in the email and does not allow communication among teammates that contains slang.

However, the company the man is working in is a local family business and functions very differently from an MNC. Choice of words is not controlled to such a stringent level but the general manager expects every email vetted before sending it out. Even farting also must let him know.

He expects to be notified for every meeting with visitors and anyone of a higher authority than him as he is insecure.

The reason for being insecure is he got the job by chance, the owner of the company was not able to interview him properly, and the business owner does not know IT lingo at an in-depth level.

The employee who spoke to us said: “Working with an unqualified IT general manager is like asking a chef to be a plumber“. He shares the struggles that he has to explain every single detail to the general manager who does not know anything.

He said that is not exaggerating but speaking the truth as the whistleblower is also a man of a manager level with over 10 years of IT hands-on experience. He complains that “serving” a leader who does not know about anything is making his life difficult and slowing down progress.

The man is sitting high up in his chair commanding his subordinates to fulfil his over-controlling desires and at the same time bootlicking the higher-ups to fulfil his destiny as a dog.

Okay so I’m(23F) dating a guy(26M) that for the most part is absolutely awesome.

The issue is he gets very talkative and frisky when he drinks. This normally isn’t an issue because we normally drink at home or if we are in public I cut him off after 2 margaritas. Usually, we can head home after that and he just talks and talks until we get home.

Neither of us drink a lot but do enjoy having a drink or two every now and then.

He booked a hotel for our anniversary, he was there earlier and set up some decorations for me and by the time I got there it turned from an anniversary at the hotel to a boy party in a hotel room.

Apparently, he started drinking and inviting his friends and by the time I’m there he was pretty drunk. He was very loud about wanting S and was trying to strip me in front of everyone.

I finally got him chilled out enough to say my goodbyes and got him in the car so we could go home.

The entire ride home he was constantly trying to get me out of my clothing. When we got home he started getting sick so I just stripped him and got him in the shower then got him in bed. I had a whole trail of puke to clean so I was less than happy.

Today he doesn’t really remember much and he wakes up thinking his still at the hotel. His best friend called me to apologize and said he should have cut him off knowing that it was our anniversary hotel booking.

I am very annoyed and embarrassed. I talked to him about it. He has a hangover and is adamant it will never happen again. He has also apologized.

I want to still be annoyed and I’m rather angry but I feel like I am being harsh by continuing to hold on to it.

I kind of feel that the hotel booking has been wasted and the anniversary that was supposed to be sweet became a nightmare.

How do I let it go when it was so embarrassing for me?

I’ve been learning forex and demoing for the past few months on a forex demo account and I have been winning 90% of the time.

I recently had what I thought was a good idea for a new trading strategy. I visually backtested it half-assedly and decided to give it a go this week.

I deposited $10,000 into my account and tried playing the live forex market.

Lost all six trades in a row and 45% of the account

I wasn’t using any strategy as such, just taking trades based on levels I worked out or read about, or following what other people were doing but without their discipline or precision. I flailed around a lot, buying and selling EUR/JPY, especially about 10-15 times a day. Every time I bought, it would immediately drop 30 pips. If I sold, it would rally.

Granted, six trades in a week is not a proper sample, but I’ve decided to scrap the idea after going 0-6 and go back to what was previously working for me.

Some of it was bad luck, and some of it was that the market conditions had changed. Volatility had increased dramatically and the fundamental landscape was changing, but I was too green to recognize this. I was also taking macro fundamental themes and assuming they would apply to my 1hr charts.

I was also stubbornly USD bullish, during a time when it was doing really badly. Although I called myself a trend trader, I just kept buying USD when it was trending downward, convinced that the top had come in EUR/USD or AUD/USD or whatever.

Guess doing it on a demo forex account is very different from the real one as the money is mine.

A man recently posted online stating that the couple is smart enough to devise a plan to scam multiple people but not smart enough to secure their escape.

The couple who escaped to Malaysia was hiding at a hotel in Johor Bahru and eventually arrested.

Regarding the recent story of the couple who scammed $32 million and ran to Malaysia, it seems like either they did not have a solid escape plan or they could not keep their mouth shut about their location.

Not very smart of them

In the news, it stated that the Singapore Police Force received information about the whereabouts of the fugitive couple from the Royal Thai Police which eventually lead to their arrest.

This could mean 2 things, either one of the couples could have told someone in Thailand about the place their staying or their mobile apps might have leaked their location. Probably LINE app, Facebook or something else.

They could have stayed off any online platforms, ditch their online accounts and gone completely offline.

Previously, the news stated that they might have escaped to Thailand but no one knew where they exactly were except themselves.

They decided to stay in Johor Bahru and check into a hotel which probably require them to use identification documents.

They were caught just 20.8km away from Woodlands Checkpoint. Why would they stay so close to Singapore?

There is this saying “The most dangerous place is the safest place”. But it seems like pure nonsense in this case.

With the vast amount of money they had, they could have travelled to a country with no extradition treaty.

This is exactly like the case of Mas Selamat, he escaped Singapore but resided near the Johor area.
