Parents keep complaining about older siblings to me (31F).=

Me and my siblings (3 of us) give allowance to my parents that add up to $2.5k a month after we started working. My older siblings have been working for more than 15 years, some even 20. (Big age gap).

Sometimes my older siblings don’t give them allowance and doesn’t inform them. My parents keep complaining about this to me.

I personally think it’s ok for them to not want to give allowance but they should tell my parents upfront. They don’t though. Also, my parents can live comfortably and don’t actually need the money, although they’re retired.

I’ve told my parents before that i think it’s ok if they don’t give you, and they have given you allowance for more than 15-20years anyway. That’s a long time. They obviously don’t accept my opinion and think my older siblings are not being filial kids.

My parents will then text or call them every month to ask for allowance, then they will give them. If they don’t remind, most of the time my siblings don’t give.

I have been giving my parents allowance without fail, but on months where im tight, i inform them upfront about it and they will say ok.

Im very affected by the complaints from my parents about my siblings. It’s taking a toll on me. I also don’t think it’s right for them to complain and badmouth my older siblings to me.

It’s been almost 2 years and I’ve been listening to them everytime. Is there anything i can do?

Fresh grad here. Got into a decent division for work n stuff, everyone in my team is at least 10 years older than me.

Just got my first dose of workplace harassment today. It was from someone way older at a better division.

The person intentionally spelt my name into a cursed word that is ominous especially during the 7th month for Chinese and replied super rudely to my emails.

She also kept spam calling my extension number until I start doing the stuff she emailed me (everything crucial and necessary was missing too).

This was all just to spite me because I didn’t reply on 9 Aug and was prioritizing the really important/urgent things to be done today. Hers wasn’t urgent.

is there anyway to handle this? I will probably see her a lot in the future too. I foresee myself staying in my first job for at least 2 years since I get lots of useful experience and exposure.

Neighbour’s renovation damaged my wall

Update: Contractor said that the wall was shoddily built in the first place, he’s willing to fix it (the way he phrases it is as a favour to us), acknowledges that he didn’t do pre-survey but said that it would have cracked anyway.

So apparently it’s our fault as well? Says he’s straight up not going to pay for a third party to fix it, and that getting HDB would only result in us & neighbour splitting the cost. Can somebody confirm?

I suspect he’s trying to take advantage of the fact that we don’t have much construction knowledge, mom wants to give in and just let them repair the wall w/o getting hdb involved but at this stage I don’t trust them??

As per title, neighbour has been renovating for probably about a week, and one fine day we noticed that our wall was kinda protruding in the middle & had cracks along the walls, very obvious and huge ones. The wall was still fine the day before.

We spoke to the contractor, they came down to have a look but what they initially proposed was for us to bear half the cost of repairs.

Of course we found that ridiculous – it had been totally fine for 20+ years, now that they have damaged it, we still had to pay to fix it? We rejected it and they said they would speak to the owners and get back to us again.

Would like to ask:

is there any recourse for us if they insist on us sharing half the cost?

what we requested was simply for them to restore the wall to its original state. however is there a possibility that they may do a shoddy job just to placate us?

anybody experienced the same? how did that work out?
