PRC MAN CLIMBS ONTO FOOD COURT TABLE, SHOUTS: “WHY MUST I PAY MONEY FOR FOOD”

Instagram page @kuayewism shared a video yesterday (15 July) showing a man taking off his shirt at a food court at Sim Lim Square, and climbing on top of a table and shouting.

He was seen in the video saying that he is a “little mouse” who likes to run around the street, ad that people can’t chase him away.

A man was seen approaching him and asking him to come down from the table, but the PRC man refused and the man said that he was going to call security.

The man then went on a rant about why must he use money to exchange for food when he is hungry, and asks if he should starve just because he has no money.

Here is what he said

I am a little mouse. I like to run around in the street, people can’t chase me away because this is my home.

Now what do you think, from a human perspective, when a person is hungry, should he eat? should he eat? Then why do we use money to exchange for food?

WHY DO WE USE MONEY TO EXCHANGE FOR FOOD?!

I’m hungry now! Should I stay hungry? or should I eat something? I have no money! what do you think, should I eat something or stay hungry?

This gentlemen over here, would you like to tell me? Where is this gentleman who said he was calling security? I want to ask him, I’m hungry now, should I eat something or stay hungry?

*Security arrives*

I ask you if I am hungry, should I eat something or should I stay hungry? Yeah right? ‘m hungry, what should i do now?

The thing is not what I want to eat, it’s unfortunately the system in Singapore.

WHY IS IT THAT WHEN I AM HUNGRY, I HAVE TO USE MONEY TO EXCHANGE FOR FOOD? WHY?! I AM A HUMAN BEING, WHY DO I HAVE TO USE MONEY TO EXCHANGE FOR GOOD? WHAT KIND OF SYSTEM IS THIS?

*security offers to buy him food*

You order for me lah? Up to you.

GIRL MADE HER BF “FINISH” INSIDE HER IN BED, TOLD HIM “FILL MY WOMB”

0

GF makes me finish inside her now. confused?

Me(23M) and my GF(25F) have been together for a year and recently moved in together and everything has been perfect. Now overall, our intimacy is great; we have excellent communication so both of our needs are met.

Recently my GF has started wanting me to finish inside her. We dont use condoms but she is on BC and I still used to pull out.

The first time it happened she waited till I was on top of her and she just wrapped her arms and legs around me when I was about to come.

Since then she’s been doing that every time we get nasty and now she”ll whisper things like “impregnate me”, “give me a baby”, or the most recent “fill my womb” over and over.

After that she’ll make me stay in her for a while. I kinda slipped having kids into a conversation once and she said she wants to but only after a few years.

I asked her if this was something new that she liked but she just brushed it off as unimportant.

Now dont get me wrong it is really hot and when she says those things, it turns me on and I bust like a fire hose.

Im just confused as to what it is. Is it hormonal or something? Is she trying to baby trap me? My GF refuses to awknowledge it so i’m p confused here

WOMAN’S APPLE WATCH SPOILS AFTER JUST 1 YEAR, TOLD TO “BUY A NEW ONE”

A Facebook user, Eunice Koh, shared that her Apple Watch stopped working after a year, and when she wet to the Apple store at Orchard to get it sorted out, she was allegedly told that she had to pay $400 to send it in to run diagnostic tests on it to see what’s wrong, and possibly pay more to fix it.

Here is what she said

To anyone who is considering buying an Apple Watch, here is my honest review of the product and Apple customer service.

My watch’s screen blacked out shortly after crossing the one year warranty mark – issue is only with the screen as diagnostic tests have confirmed that the rest of the watch is still working well; although without the screen, the watch is practically unusable. The watch had been well taken care of and never used in water although the watch is supposed to be shock-resistant and water proof. Incidentally, this exact same watch model and size (series 6/40mm) has been identified for a free repair service program by Apple due to to the same exact black screen issue as what I am encountering.

Booked an appointment with a so-called “genius” at Apple store at orchard, but the team of ‘technicians’ could only come up w all sorts of excuses why the watch cannot be fixed or why they can’t even run diagnostics tests on the watch (can’t test due to the blank screen/ can’t inspect the hardware as there’s no screw to open it etc). The only option they could offer me is to either pay $400+ to send it in to the warehouse to figure out what’s wrong and possibly pay more to fix it, or pay similar price to purchase another watch. The ‘technician’ also insisted that my watch’s serial number is not eligible for the free repair, even though it was bought in May 2021 and likely falls within or close to the manufacturing batch that is eligible (Apr – Sep 2021) for the free repair. They refused to help me appeal for the watch to be considered for free repair, and kept insisting that the best solution is for me to buy a new watch on the spot. I couldn’t help commenting how the watch could so coincidentally spoil just shortly after warranty, to which the ‘technician’ responded defensively by claiming I was making ‘serious allegations against Apple’ and said she would ‘refer me to their legal team’ -.-

After the wasted trip to the store, I called the Apple customer service hotline, which suddenly was able to run a remote diagnostics on my watch despite the physical store refusing to do so. They also helped to put up my request to an “approving authority” on the basis that my warranty had ended very recently, all other parts of the watch are functioning well and this is an issue likely not caused by misuse, but an issue that affects this particular watch model as acknowledged by Apple. However, after days of waiting, they informed me that my request had been rejected without giving good reasons. What’s worst is that in all these correspondences, there is a strong self-righteous tone, simply because I was not covered under Apple Care and was a few days past the warranty period. But shouldn’t a product that cost this much be made to last for a reasonable amount of time i.e. definitely not just 1 year?? Feeling v disappointed w Apple and will be switching out to Android for all my other Apple devices.

GIRL HATES BEING CHIO, MAN TOLD HER HE WANTS TO “PIAK” HER UNTIL SHE CRY

0

I hate being pretty.

I have no intention of coming off as narcissistic. But the bottom line is I am generally regarded as very physically attractive.

I am not an oblivious idiot, I know how men look at me.

I grew up in a household where I was expected to learn multiple languages. It caused a lot of confusion with communication so my early years I struggled making friends.

Fast forward to now, 10 year old me would be thrilled if she could look at me now. But I’m miserable. A lot has changed about the way people treat me. Coming from a world where nobody looked at me or wanted to be my friend as a child makes me disgusted with people and the way the world works today.

It’s the same me, always has been. But now people (particularly males) love talking to me, getting my attention. I’ve been in multiple situations where I’ve been given a simple compliment from a man In a group setting, when I’m alone with any of them is when the tone changes. The things men have said to me has ruined my confidence completely. Whether intentionally or not. It’s opened my eyes to the reality of my life.

I’ve had a man say straight to my face he would love nothing more than to chain me up and screw me until I cry. That same man looked at me and asked about my plans for school ten minutes prior. That sounds disgusting, but it’s just the tip of the iceberg. I am constantly degraded, whether I’m head to toe covered up or not. I’ve never said a nasty thing back to people and I’ve pretty much gotten used to this type of treatment.

What really hurts is when people get to know me and are genuinely surprised I’m more than a pretty face. (I am in fact an individual with hobbies, interests, and even thoughts)

10 year old me would’ve reviled in the attention. 19 year old me feels stupid, worthless, and like she doesn’t matter.

The way females treat me has changed too. The popular girls all want to be my friend now. Society is so superficial, I find myself always putting my fakest foot forward, I am so sick of faking my kindness.

I’m degraded to a ridiculous extent but at least I have friends now?

I guess I’m okay with fake friends, what hurts the most is the way men treat me and it hurts when I know what they are thinking.

I worry the way I am perceived/treated might make it difficult to ever really grow up and have a good career as well. I’ve had countless men tell me I’m too pretty to “go to work”. I know these comments aren’t meant to hurt me, but they do.

I don’t want to be here.

Good thing the universe is still expanding. In the grand scheme nothing matters and that is what keeps me going.

Forgive any punctuation or grammar errors.

GIRL EXPECTED TO STAY BACK AFTER WORK TO DRINK, BOSS SAYS IT’S “BONDING”

0

Mismatch in work culture, what should I do?

Hi all, seeking some advice on work. Im a 23F who has just landed my first job in a consulting firm. I have interned in other consulting firms before and have friends and family working in this field so I am generally aware of the normal culture of consulting aka working till late occasionally and possibly networking with clients and prospective clients etc.

My current job, it doesn’t require me to stay till late to finish up with work so far. Which is great. But my bosses expects us to stay and drink/play games, usually till 12am and sometimes up to 3-4am.

They say it’s important that we learn to bond with colleagues after work hours. Whenever I had to leave the office at 9pm or if i decline drinking alcohol, they would make side comments on why I had to leave early and why cant I drink just a little.

I’m just 3 months in this job and I am feeling so exhausted from my work interactions.

I feel that I’m not as close with my other colleagues as everyone always stays up in the office to play and drink with one another while I’m leaving early, their conversation would continue on the next day and no one would bother to fill me in on the details.

Hoping to stay at least a year in this job but not sure how to navigate my life around the office now. Send helpp

PETROL PRICES DROP BELOW $3 AT ESSO

0

Petrol prices had dropped below $3 for the first time at Esso.

Getting a car in Singapore can make a huge impact on our wallet but to some, they need it for daily commuting and hence will look for cheaper petrol to pump.

Petrol prices in Singapore are always high compared to some countries.

According to Straits Times, the price for 92-octane petrol is $2.96 now and after a discount using DBS Esso card that will be $2.43 per litre.

The price for 95-octane petrol is $3.01 now and after a discount using DBS Esso card that will be $2.47 per litre.

The price for 98-octane petrol is $3.48 now and after a discount using DBS Esso card that will be $2.85 per litre.

The shift by Esso might set off a further cheaper rate for another brand in Singapore.

HOTEL HOUSEKEEPER STOLE $5K FROM GUEST’S ANG PAO INSIDE HER HOTEL SAFE

0

A housekeeping staff of Fairmont Hotel at Bras Basah, 50-year-old Malaysian Saravanan Kannan from Malaysia, pleaded guilty on 13 July to theft and was sentenced to 3 months imprisonment.

He had stolen almost $5,000 in cash that was packed inside red packets ad kept inside a safe box of the guest’s hotel room.

The money was reportedly meant for the victim’s son, who was holding his wedding at the hotel.

What happened?

The victim, 60-year-old Kuo Mei-Yi, flew into Singapore from Taiwan on 24 April to attend her son’s wedding.

She had put about $20,000 of cash in Singapore and Taiwanese dollars inside the safe of the hotel room, inside 4 red packets.

Saravanan had entered the victim’s room on 26 April at about 1pm to clean and tidy up the room, when he noticed that the safe box was unlocked, and he saw the red packets inside.

He looked through the red packets and found the cash inside them, before taking some of the cash, which amounted to almost $5,000.

Saravanan then changed $1,100 of the cash into Malaysian Ringgit and spent it in Malaysia.

When the victim returned to her room, she noticed that her safe box was unlocked but didn’t feel suspicious because she saw that the red packets were still there.

Gave son ang pao of $7,401

She then gave the first red packet to her son during the wedding reception later that night, and her son’s wife then called her later asking why she packed $7,401 inside the red packet, which she (the daughter-in-law) found weird.

The victim then realised that it was not the amount that she had packed inside the red packet, and she then checked the remaining red packets that she kept inside the safe.

She then found about NT$50,000 (or SGD$2340) missing from the 2nd ad 3rd red packets, and she then reported the theft to the hotel’s security, as well as the police.

Saravanan was then questioned and he lasted admitted to stealing the money.

About SGD$1,500 and NT$50,000 was retrieved from him and returned to the victim, with the remaining $1,100 being deducted from the his salary and returned to her from the hotel’s management.

ROAD RAGE WOMAN & SON ARRESTED BY M’SIAN POLICE FOR INCIDENT @ CHECKPOINT

The district police chief of Iskandar Puteri, Rahmat Ariffin, said in a statement released earlier today that a Singaporean woman and man were arrested last night (14 July) at the Sultan Abu Bakar Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex, which is the Malaysia side of the Second Link, the immigration checkpoint.

The two persons arrested were the mother and son duo who were involved in an infamous road rage incident that happened at the Tuas Second Link last week.

The statement mentioned that the two suspects had admitted that they were involved in the road rage incident, where they got upset because their car was allegedly blocked and scraped.

Rahmat said on Sunday that the driver of the MPV was not injured and his car suffered minor damages and that he was returning to Singapore with his family from residential development, Forest City in Johor when the now-infamous incident happened.

The Johor police also said that the woman is a Malaysian who is a Singapore permanent resident.

WOMAN ASKS HOW TO NOT LOOK LIKE A CHEAPSKATE WHEN COLLEAGUES EAT $15 LUNCHES

0

Hi everyone, hope to hear some of ur views. Hope this gets posted.

Tldr – How do I avoid looking like a cheapskate in front of my colleagues?

Some background abt me. I’m a single mum of 1 school-going boy, 2 elderly parents who are not working. In my 30s and I work in the CBD area doing client facing role earning mid 4figure salary. I’m ur typical sandwiched generation – not wealthy but also not starving.

My colleagues would usually go for salad lunches costing $15 per meal, eat together for dinner at those restaurants before going home, talk about the latest fashion (bags, shoes, clothes) during lunchtime.

While they are nice enough to ask me to join them for meals, a part of me feels torn – I understand that lunch sessions are a great way to bond but as compared to the $3.50 cai png (and multiplying it 5 times a wk) I could have saved so much more which would all go towards better use such as for my son or my parents.

Not forgetting my colleagues would buy a nice $4 coffee after lunch too. I do try and join them sometimes, but I’m also running out of excuses to basically say that I cannot afford to eat such “fancy” food that often because I’m the sole breadwinner.

I try not to dress too shabbily as well since we all meet clients but I can’t possibly be buying new branded clothes all the time just like my colleagues just to look nice, I thought being presentable is good enough.

My colleagues would also chip in for monthly office treats (not mandatory but ppl do know if u don’t contribute) and it just looks bad on me if I don’t put in some cash, or sometimes my colleagues would just treat each other to a beverage,

though again I know these all sum up to be quite the usual office expenditure, and I fear I look like the odd one out just because I don’t exactly “behave” like my other colleagues.

I guess my spending habits are rather atypical of an office worker in the CBD, partly because I think every cent I save then goes towards my household – as my kid grows older and parents age definitely expenses at home will rise too.

In a way, Idw to be buying $4 coffee treating my colleagues when that $4 can go towards my son’s pocket money/a bowl of noodles for my parents? Is it wrong to tighten my belts and allocate scarce funds this way?

I know I don’t earn alot and there’re many mouths to feed at home. Despite my shiny office wear actually I’m just a median salaried worker. It’s also not that Idw to find another job that pays more, but my current job on balance allows me the flexibility for my family needs and is paying me a livable wage after all.

So I wonder am I being too cheapo and if yes, how do I overcome this image so that my colleagues do not see me as this weird miser?
