INSURER ORDERED TO PAY $7.2M AFTER WOMAN PIAK PIAK INSIDE CAR & KENA STD

0

A woman in the US was awarded S$7.22 million after catching an STD from having intercourse with her ex-boyfriend in his car.

The man’s car was insured by car insurer Geico, and they were ordered by a court to pay the woman the awarded sum of money.

The woman said that her ex-partner didn’t disclose his condition to her, leaving her with past and future medical expenses, on top of her mental and physical suffering.

She had initially sought damages of S$1.39 million in 2021 from Geico, saying that she was covered under their policy.

Geico then denied her coverage, as well as refused her settlement offer, according to The Guardian.

The woman and her ex-boyfriend then went into arbitration where she was then sided with by the arbitrator, according to the BBC.

She was then awarded S$7.22 million in damages, with the man deemed to have negligently infected the woman with the human papillomavirus (HPV).

A court in Jackson County then confirmed the awarding of damages, with the arbitrator determining that the intercourse in the car directly caused or directly contributed to cause the woman’s HPV infection.

Geico will be taking the case to federal court.

GUY CAN’T USE HIS “25CM” KUKUBIRD, SAYS BECAUSE WOMEN DON’T WANT A SHORT GUY

0

I am more on the bad genetic side with a no man’s land height of 171cm.

However, my pencil is of high quality (~15cm default and extendible up to 25cm depending on my mood) so much that John Wick can use it as his weapon anytime.

But here is the problem. No one other than me knows about its existence because girls who I date on the apps typically shun me when they see my height. You know, young ladies these days… are more choosy with height and they themselves are mostly 170cm or above, contrary to the fake disgusting stats on website (160cm).

It is hard for someone like me born in the early 90s to find shorter girls as they are mostly taken by guys like you. Thus, there is no way I can find my future special one to illustrate my potential, my golden pencil.

What is the point of having a good tool when you are short and no one notices you? Likewise it must be pretty sucky for a tall guy like you to have a good height yet with a small tool. But hey, at least you experienced doing the deed, unlike me, evergreen for life.

End of the day, I feel it is better to be a tall guy with a short pencil than short guy with a useless long pencil. I feel like I got shot in the arms, heart left right centre. It is a more terrible feeling seeing so many girls with tall attached guys everywhere I go, holding hands on streets and here I am stuck in this abyss of loneliness and dwarfism.

You have a very good height so please at least be satisfied. I believe height is more important to girls than your pencil. You had it better than me…..

S’POREAN KENA SAMAN FOR SMOKING OUTDOORS @ GENTING BY ALLEGED “OFFICIALS”

A Singaporean man was fined in Malaysia for smoking outdoors, by a group of people who were allegedly posing as government officials.

The man, Mr Tan, told Mothership that he was at Genting Highlands on 3 June and smoking in an outdoor area on the 4th floor of the Resorts World Genting shopping mall, outside Sky Avenue.

He was then approached by a group of people alleging to be officers from the Ministry of Health Malaysia, who issued him a “summons” for smoking there.

There was also no sign stating that it was illegal to smoke there and the only “no smoking” sign was on the wall near the toilets.

Tan added that the “officials” were not wearing any uniforms and didn’t provide any identification to prove that they were government officials.

He was given a fine of RM250 and told by the “officials” that he could pay the fine on the spot by handing them RM150 cash.

He felt something was wrong but decided to just pay the fine on the spot, and filled in the “form” that was given to him with fake information and contact details.

He then saw the “officers” move on to another group of smokers holding on to e-cigarettes, and issued them fines even though they had yet to use the e-cigarette.

The group of “officers” then insisted that they were breaking the law.

8 Y.O M’SIAN GIRL FELL TO HER DEATH IN AMUSEMENT PARK RIDE, LANDED HEAD-FIRST

An 8-year-old Malaysian girl fell to her death at an amusement park in Australia after slipping out of her seat and landing head-first onto the ground.

Deputy state coroner Ian White said in court on Wednesday (8 June) that her death could have been prevented had the operators followed the ride manufacturer’s height requirement.

The girl, Adelene Leong, was with her mother at the Royal Adelaide Show in Australia back in 2014 at the time of the fatal incident, according to The Mirror.

It is unclear if the girl’s parents managed to claim any insurance from the incident.

Landed on her head in front of her mother

She was on a holiday with her mother and was on the Airmaxx 360 ride when she slipped out of her seat and fell to her death.

Leong was flung into the air at first, before landing head-first onto the ground in front of her mother, as well as other witnesses.

She then succumbed to her injuries and died.

Hung upside down by ankle before being flung

The Airmaxx 360 ride was operating at more than 100km/hr at the time and after Adelene slipped from her seat, she was hanging upside down by her left ankle before being flung out, according to The Daily Mail.

The manufacturers of the ride recommended a minimum height requirement of 140cm for the ride, but the operators at the theme park set the height requirement at 120cm.

Adelene was 137cm tall at the time of the accident.

Non-compliance by operators

White added that the operators failed to comply with the height requirements and concealed it for the purpose of expanding the eligibility of patrons to ride on the Airmaxx 360.

The owners, Jenny-Lee Sullivan and Clinton Watkins also did not undergo a required design registration process for the ride, which they bought in 2013, according to 7NEWS.

M’SIA GOVT GETTING RID OF THEIR MANDATORY DEATH PENALTY

Malaysia’s government has come to an agreement to abolish the mandatory death penalty, with the sentencing being left to the discretion of their courts.

Wan Junaidi bin Tuanku Jaafar, the minister in the Prime Minister’s Department for Parliament and Law, released a statement on 10 June, outlining the decision of the government.

He said that a decision was reached after a report presented to the Cabinet about the substitute sentences in place of their mandatory death penalty.

The recommendations in the report by the Special Committee on Alternative Sentences on the Death Penalty were then accepted by the government in principle.

Wan Junaidi also confirmed that the Cabinet has agreed on looking into the proposed alternative sentences for 11 of the country’s offences which carry the mandatory death penalty.

The Malaysian government will also look into the direction of their criminal justice system and its feasibility, like the pre-sentencing procedures, reform of their prisons and “restorative justice” for sentences.

HALF OF JUSTIN BIEBER’S FACE PARALYSED, CAN ONLY MOVE ONE SIDE

Justin Bieber announced on Instagram earlier today that he has been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, and told his fans that his next few shows will be cancelled as half of his face is paralysed.

He could be seen in the video struggling to move half of his face, as he explained that the medical condition caused half of his face to be paralysed due to the virus attacking the nerves in his ear and face.

Bieber explained that he is having full paralysis on one half of his face, being unable to blink, smile or move his nostril on one side.

He said that he will have no choice but to cancel his next few shows until he regains mobility on the right side of his face again.

He addressed disappointed fans, saying that he is just physically not able to do the next few shows and his condition is serious.

He is working on regaining movement on the affected side of his face via facial exercises and assured his fans that he is going to get better.

MAN SAYS HIS WIFE IS FUNNY & ATTRACTIVE, DON’T KNOW WHY SHE STAYED WITH HIM

0

My wife is absurdly funny, attractive and interesting. I have no idea why she stays with me.

Been with my wife 20 years. Best decision I ever made was marrying her. She’s funny, interesting and a complete smoke show.

When I introduce people to my wife, their immediate reaction is surprise and confusion.

I am nothing special. I do contract work, and my employment is rarely stable. I’m not interesting. I’m not super emotionally stable either.

But here we are. We got married young and had three kids. We still go out for beers every Friday together.

I only have enough money in the bank to sustain us for three months, and I’m actively pitching for projects I’m not sure will come through. I am losing my hair and I have a spare tire.

And she’s still here. It’s incredible and baffling and the same time.

That’s all I wanted to get off my chest today.

Netizens’ comments

The way you accept all these things about you, shows that you’re an extremely humble person, though I’m sure it’s very nice to be around you. You make her feel good. That’s what matters. Cheers, mate. I’d share a drink with you.

LAZADA REMOVES MAGNETIC TOYS LISTING AFTER 9 Y.O GIRL SWALLOWED THEM

A 9-year-old girl swallowed 14 magnetic balls that were part of a toy and ended up tearing a hole in her small intestine.

She had to go through a 4-hour emergency surgery to remove the magnetic balls, which were attracted to each other while in different parts of her intestines and tearing a hole through them.

A blockage was formed in her intestines that saw her vomit numerous times, and she was sick for about 2 weeks and lost a huge amount of weight because she couldn’t keep food down.

The magnetic balls were part of a toy that her parents bought for her through Lazada, the Consumer Product Safety Office has since contacted the e-commerce website to remove all related listings on their page, as reported by 8World News.

Before the incident, the toy was advertised by some sellers on Lazada as an educational toy for the development of children.

WOMAN NO LONGER “COOL OR PRETTY” AFTER GIVING BIRTH, HUSBAND WANTS DIVORCE

0

I used to be cool. I rode bikes, went rock climbing, backpacking on multi-week long trips, took surfing lessons, kite surfed all over the world. I saved money and quit my job and travelled for a couple years. I spent a year traveling. I can wakeboard, wake skate, roller skate. I read books all the time, I know the basics of physics and philosophy and history. I loved to learn new things and write about them. I liked to paint and create art. I was so committed to LIVING in my twenties. I was really cool. I mountain biked and hiked. I was never awesome at anything but I liked trying new things and doing stuff. I think I was kind and thoughtful. I tried to be.

I wasn’t ever trying to find myself or anything like that, I was just hungry to taste as much of the world as I could. I used to work in a nursing home and I was scared to get old and sick without knowing what it felt like to raft the Zambezi or hike to Macchu Picchu or ride across the Mongolian steppe or drink tea in the Himalayas. I listened to the regrets of the elderly all day and I didn’t want to have any so I threw myself into the world. I think I was cool, I think that I was cool for me.

I was pretty too. Not a stunner or anything but I was pretty enough that people were usually a little extra nice to me. I was approachable pretty. Men used to ask for my number regularly. I felt happy about how I looked. I never felt like a bomb shell but I never felt bad or insecure about my looks.

Then I got back after the traveling and I was thirty and my husband wanted kids and I agreed. I had two in the next couple years. They’re the best thing that ever happened to me. And now my youngest is a year and I’m forty five pounds overweight and I have stretch marks on my stomach and my chest is lopsided and pendulous and my skin is horrible and I never sleep or read or do anything that I used to enjoy and haven’t for nearly 5 years now. I broke my foot badly so I’ll never be running again.

I’m not cool anymore. I don’t like to go out and do things and I’ve developed some kind of germ phobia. The same person who ate street food insects. I try to be a good mom. I don’t know if I am. I’m not pretty. I think women of all shapes and sizes are beautiful and I love seeing and supporting women who love themselves but I don’t feel like that about myself anymore. He isn’t attracted to me anymore. And now that my body is trash and I have no hobbies and am boring and anxiety ridden my husband wants a divorce. Fuck. I’ll never make enough alone to buy a house here. I’m too embarrassed of myself to ever date again.

My kids will never know I was cool and fun and I don’t think I ever will be again.

NO MORE $5/$10 TREATMENT FEES FOR RESPIRATORY INFECTIONS @ PHPC CLINICS

0

The Ministry of Health said in a press release yesterday that the subsidies at Public Health Preparedness Clinics and polyclinics (flat rate of $10 for treatment of respiratory infection symptoms, $5 for seniors) will no longer apply and will revert back to pre-Covid levels.

Here is what they said

Updates on COVID-19 Financing Schemes

In Singapore, healthcare support in the form of S+3Ms (Government Subsidies, MediSave, MediShield Life and MediFund) are extended broadly to all Singaporeans. Notwithstanding, as part of our pandemic response, COVID-19 treatments have been provided at a very low fee or free of charge, going beyond the regular S+3Ms. As life reverts to normal and we increasingly live with COVID-19 as an endemic disease, we will need to progressively scale back the pandemic subsidy policy, and revert to the S+3Ms healthcare financing frameworks.

Reverting to Pre-COVID-19 Subsidy Policy for Respiratory Infection Treatment at Public Health Preparedness Clinics

Since February 2020, more than 1,000 PHPCs have been activated to provide subsidised care for patients with respiratory infection symptoms, whether due to COVID-19 or not. Singapore residents pay a flat subsidised rate of $10 and seniors from the Pioneer Generation and Merdeka Generation pay a lower rate of $5. From 1 July 2022, 0001 hours, subsidies at PHPCs and polyclinics for the treatment of respiratory infections will revert to pre-COVID-19 levels. The $10/$5 fee will no longer apply, but Singaporeans will continue to enjoy prevailing subsidies under the Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS) at CHAS General Practitioner (GP) clinics.

The above does not affect ART and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) tests, where PHPCs and polyclinics will continue to provide government-funded swabs to eligible symptomatic individuals at no charge.

Cessation of Government-Subsidised Telemedicine care for Individuals on Protocol 2

Currently, individuals under Protocol 2, i.e. mildly symptomatic, low risk, and recovering from home, and who requested for telemedicine care enjoys full subsidy. In line with the above change for PHPCs, from 1 July 2022, 0001 hours, we will revert the subsidy policy to pre-COVID-19 arrangements. Full subsidy for the telemedicine will cease, but Singaporeans will continue to enjoy CHAS subsidies if they visit a CHAS GP clinic for treatment. Individuals under Protocol 1, i.e. those at high medical risk or with severe symptoms, but are discharged home for recovery and under telemedicine surveillance, will continue to enjoy fully subsidised telemedicine care.

Updates to COVID-19 Treatment Coverage in Hospitals

Currently, Singapore Citizens/ Permanent Residents /Long-Term Pass Holders (SC/PR/LTPHs) who seek emergency treatment for COVID-19 in Emergency Departments (ED) of public acute hospitals do not have to pay any ED charges if they are fully vaccinated, or certified to be medically ineligible for vaccination. From 1 July 2022, 0001 hours, this will no longer apply to those who do not require admission after visiting the ED. Those who are assessed to require hospital or COVID-19 Treatment Facility (CTF) admission for COVID-19 treatment will continue to have their ED, inpatient and/or CTF bills fully subsidised by the government, if they are fully vaccinated or certified to be medically ineligible for vaccination. This will help MOH manage the demand for ED services, to those who need them.

Towards COVID-19 Resilience

Our daily caseloads have remained under control even with the significant easing of our community SMMs and border measures. However, new variants will continue to emerge, and we must stay vigilant. As part of ongoing COVID-19 surveillance, the Ministry of Health will continue to monitor for virus strains introduced into and circulating in the community by requiring some infected individuals to take an additional government-funded PCR swab for genomic sequencing. We urge everyone to still take the necessary precautions and remain socially responsible to protect themselves and others, even as we move towards normalcy and living safely with COVID-19.
