A 38-year-old man allegedly took upskirt videos of a woman at Clementi MRT station and was spotted by Transcom officers.

He was subsequently arrested.

The incident happened on 6 July at about 7.20am.

The female victim was on the escalator as the time of the offence and the man was spotted in the act by the Transcom officers before being detained and arrested.

He is believed to have been involved in other similar cases of voyeurism at several other MRT stations.

At the time of writing, police investigations are still ongoing.

The Multi-Ministry Taskforce (MTF) announced earlier today that from 15 July onwards, staff working in higher risk settings will be required (made compulsory) to take the Fast and East Test (FET) Rostered Routine Testing (RRT).

Those in higher risk settings include:

• Staff working in dine-in F&B establishments
• Staff working in personal care services, including facials, spas, massage, hairdressing etc
• Gyms/fitness studios

MOH earlier announced that Over The Counter Antigen Rapid Tests (OTC ARTs) would be made available at local pharmacies from 16 June onwards.

Minister of Finance Lawrence Wong announced earlier today that the maximum group size for gatherings may be increased to 8 per group by the end of July.

This is provided if Singapore achieves 50% vaccination rates of the population.

Wong said:

“Once we reach 50 per cent, it’ll be timely for us to have a more definitive roadmap to transit towards living with endemic Covid-19.”

Last night (July 6) a 57-year-old man was arrested after climbing onto the train track at Jurong East MRT station to pick up his mobile phone.

It is believed that the man accidentally dropped his phone while he was stepping out of the train.

The MRT driver that was approaching the station saw a man on the track and had to apply an emergency brake to stop the vehicle at around 10.15 PM

This resulted in a 5 minutes disruption.

The man has since been placing under arrest and under investigation by the Police.

SMRT would like to remind commuters to never trespass on the track as it could be very dangerous.

A netizen shared about a spooky encounter that she had experienced with her friends at school.

She wrote that she was walking along her school corridor during her break with her friends when a middle aged man suddenly started shouting at them.

He then aggressively followed them, and the group of frightened girls then hurried into a nearby girls’ toilet to hide from him.

The man was banging on the cubicle door and shouting at them to come out.

They remained inside the cubicle and waited until eventually, the man had left the toilet.

They then exited the toilet and informed the security about the incident.

The security then checked the CCTV footage of where the incident had allegedly transpired and noticed something strange.

There was no one chasing the girls.

They were seen on the cameras running away from nothing.

So is it a ghost that was chasing them, or is it all just an elaborate hoax?

Earlier today(July 7), SCDF was alerted to a fire at Block 314 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3 at 12:25 AM
A Personal Mobility Aid (PMA) scooter caught fire in the living room of a 10th-floor flat. Prior to the arrival of SCDF, the fire was put out by members of the public pouring buckets of water via the unit’s window and entryway.

SCDF firemen forced entry into the smoke-filled apartment as soon as they arrived. Two residents were evacuated from the afflicted apartment by SCDF firemen using breathing equipment sets, one at the unit’s door and the other in the toilet.

The Police and SCDF said that they evacuated about 50 residents of the affected block as a precautionary measure.

The residents of the affected unit were transported to Tan Tock Seng Hospital and KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital by SCDF.

An occupant of a flat on the 12th floor was also sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for smoke inhalation.
According to preliminary investigations, the fire was caused by an electrical fault in the PMA scooter.

A 47-year-old man took the rainbow flag off the countertop of a salad bar and threw it at an employee working there.

The incident happened On Jan 18, employees working at SMOL Singapore located at Lau pa Sat was confronted by an aggressive man being unhappy with the display of the LGBT flag.

The man said: “Do you know that this is a public food court? Not everybody support LGBT!!?? How can you put this flag?? the kind of people who is destroying Singapore, go to hell”.

A questioned was to MHA asking about the status of the investigation.

MHA said: The Government’s position is clear – harassment and abuse of any person for any reason is not condoned. The law protects LGBTQ individuals the same as everyone else. For instance, POHA contains a range of both civil and criminal measures to protect all victims against offences involving harassment and abuse. Acts involving hurt or incitement of violence are criminalised under legislation such as the Penal Code. Amendments were also made to the Maintenance of Religious Harmony Act (MRHA) in 2019 to make it an offence to urge violence on the grounds of religion or religious belief, against any person or group.

The man was given a 24-month conditional warning meaning if he were to repeat what he had done he will face harassment charges.

Scammers have taken to impersonating officials from the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), sending unsolicited messages to various people.

In their message, they claim that all your bank accounts will be blocked within 4 hours and asked people to call them to verify their documents.

However, the scammers apparently spell check their messages, with a myriad of spelling and grammar mistakes that would make a primary school kid chuckle.
