MOE: RACIST ACTS BY STAFF AND STUDENTS IN SCHOOL WILL BE DEALT WITH

The Ministry of Education (MOE) said on 17 June that students and staff who experience racism in schools should bring it up to their institutions immediately so that investigations can be conducted.

They also added that those who engage in racist acts will be counselled and disciplined.

MOE further reiterated that any form of racism is unacceptable and has no place in local schools.

MOE said:

“We expect all educators to conduct themselves to the highest standards of their profession, given their position of influence over their students, and we will not hesitate to take the appropriate disciplinary actions against offenders.”

“Our schools aim to provide a supportive and safe environment where students and staff, regardless of their race and religion, can build strong and positive relationships, voice their concerns, and seek help from their teachers and peers.”

“Within the classroom, topics on multiculturalism and the importance of racial harmony are taught in subjects like Character and Citizenship Education, history and social studies.”

“These values are practised and reinforced beyond the classroom as students interact with one another during student development experiences like CCA and cohort camps.”

This comes in the light of more and more minorities coming out with their experiences with racial prejudices during their time in school, as well as the recent viral news about the racist Ngee Ann Polytechnic lecturer Tan Boon Lee flaming Islam in his classrooms.

ACTRESS MIMI CHOO STAYED IN HAUNTED HOTEL ROOM, SCRATCHED BY VIOLENT SPIRIT

Hong Kong actress Mimi Choo shared two stories about her encounters with the supernatural.

The first took place in Toronto, Canada; at a 5-star hotel.

She was taking a shower when the tap suddenly turned on by itself, she got the hotel staff to take a look at they said that it was fine.

She then entered the washroom and the tap turned on by itself again, she was pissed and wanted to “fight” it.

However, she didn’t change rooms and stayed there for another 6 days.

Her second encounter happened in Montreal, Canada.

She was there for 2 nights and after showering, she was drying herself when she felt a sharp pain on her right arm and saw 3 scratch marks.

Three scratch marks are described by many paranormal investigators as being demonic in nature, with each mark mocking the holy trinity.

The next day, Choo found another 3 more scratch marks on her left arm.

She panicked but remained unfazed, refusing to let the entity who was hurting, scare her any further.

The 60-year-old said that he was staying at a hotel that he deemed to be haunted, with many strange happenings in the room after he checked in.

He went to the washroom after waking up and heard the sounds of something tearing, something like a zipper being zippep.

However, he thought it was the TV so he didn’t put much thought into it.

Soon after, he heard the sound again and he went out of the toilet to check, and the television channel had changed by itself, to an NBA game.

The hairdryer in the washroom also stopped working while he was using it, only to start up again after he put it down.

He also described feeling prickly sensations, as though there was an antacid powder drink bubbling inside of him.

The actor then pleaded out loud to the spirits to spare him 15 minutes, after which he would leave.

He said that thankfully, the spirit didn’t follow him back to Hong Kong.

There was also one instance when she felt someone sitting on her and she tried to call out for help but to no avail.

Chen kept the incidents to herself and didn’t tell any of her family members about it.

Once, she was left alone in her home in Singapore when her family went on a trip, plagued by the disturbances, she finally broke down.

She said that she was woken up by the sound of footsteps and could hear laughter.

She hid under her blanket, shaking; and stayed inside until the dawn of light before asking for help.

Soon, she couldn’t take it anymore and packed her clothes, staying over at the TV station.

But she still couldn’t fall asleep, because everytime she closed her eyes, she would start crying.

One of the directors then introduced her to a Taoist priest who performed some rites at her home.

The priest revealed to her that there was a child spirit following her, and it doesn’t mean any harm, only wanting to play.
